  1. Loved bath and body works candle moonlite path. Got one for christmas and it burned about half way. So decided I wanted to remelt it. I got on the internet and 14 yrs. later I'm still doing candles. When My daughter started college and it really carried me through those times when I needed the extra cash. Don't have a business and I don't do as many shows as I used to, but when someone comes up to me at a craft show and says I was looking for you...I love your candles, it makes it all worth while.
  2. I've tried RE/AH candycane....too light in my parafin, W.S.P. Peppermint Cream....absolutely no scent at all. How can that be possible with peppermint I ask? Just scents peppermint bark is wonderful for a cookie mint. Kentucky's peppermint patty is wonderful also. I just wanted a good candycane. Definitaly will try the others. Thank You
  3. Thats just it...haven't heard anything about this. A customer did ask me about this a few months ago. I had no clue. I was so turned off with the metal cups I just ordered a 1000 plastic cups a week ago. Will be testing for sure. This is the part of candle making that really turns me off. Maybe thats why the price was right. Will see......
  4. How about the fragrance oils....Some are denser, some contain more or less compondents that may clog the wick and can burn differently. How about the dyes? They can make a difference also. Have used the plastic cups in the past. Never had a problem. Unless theres something different in the plastic why all the sudden are they catching on fire? What kind of glue are people using to attach the wicks? Some glues are flammable. Who knows...somebody probly found a cheaper way too make them. Thats how we do things in this country. Let me tell you about the metal cups...they are so thin, I wouldn't be surprised if they caught fire also.
  5. Using a Parafin, and having the same trouble. Haven't had this happen for quite a few years....im thinking it has something to do with the additives in the wax. Because I too have used the same wax, wicks, scent etc. through the years and then Bam...I'm having problems. New case of wax though. First slab seems to be burning fine, the second slab is messed up. At $100 a case....makes me sick.
  6. Thanks so much...I'll try peaks peppermint and add the vanilla..and some cinnamon. Thanks again. Donna
  7. Is there a candy cane scent that actually smells like a candycane? Not just a weak peppermint.
  8. I tried Just scents and as it was strong, not much apple. It actually had a tobacco scent to me.
