  1. Mom loved them- no stale smell I wonder if my wax went bad or my nose....I got home from work a couple hours ago and put in a hazelnut vanilla melt (I do like this one) and same thing- I am smelling stale smoke I Must be coming down with something Mistletoe is my must have- I love it all year round- I am going to light one of those and see if I smell the candle or stale cigarettes! Maybe this is a sign that it is time to quit! smoking that is
  2. I think this weekend I will try it again in C3 and see what happens- could be MY nose that is really messed up to- because in melts it was not at all like that, I could tolerate the scent and I have alot of people that buy them up in melts and requested them in candle form.
  3. great idea- I am going to ship them off to my mother tomorrow! and I love the barf smiley idea- Thanks! 0~ 0~ 0~ 0~ (that is me trying to mask the smell now with smoke and odor eliminator!) LOL
  4. Okay- I am NOT a fan of food/bakery scents at all but have learned to "man" up making them knowing alot of people do......BUT I am test burning this FO in a candle now (straight 464 and a htp wick and a CD wick) and I want to gag!!! It smells like stale cigarette smoke to me and I AM a smoker! (but one that constantly chews gum and sprays body spray ALL the time AND washes my hand after EVERY one) When I made this in melts I tolerated it - it wasn't bad actually and alot of people LOVED it but man, put a wick in it it and it completely changed- anyone else have this "problem"? I kept walking around trying to figure out where the smell was coming from, I thought it was my clothes, my hair or I had a hole in the wall (I do not smoke in my house- I go in the garage) and I just finally realized it its the candles- These HAVE to go....I cant offer this to people! LOL*shudder* we need a barf smiley
  5. WSP has it... I have not tried that one but the ones I have are dead on and strong in soy wax! They are pricey with the shipping included in the price but I have been happy with the oils so far
  6. Winter Wonderland Peppermint Pear Spice Amish harvest Bayberry Hollyberry & Ivy Cranberry Apple Marmalade Sugar Cookie Red Currant Red Clove LOVE THEM!!
  7. Those jars are adorable! where did you find those? and I love the mold for the tarts- I havent seen that shape before Congrats and Welcome- and yes the addiction is just starting!
  8. You said you had a box of advanced if anyone knew if it threw in that...I started with that wax and it makes a great looking candle but HT is horrible- I then switched to CB 135 and really dont know why I went with 464 other than it supposedly had even better HT- still not sure I believe that but have gone to far into testing to switch back again- 464 is a good wax but I am now playing a little with C3 and would also like to compare the 415 you use as well
  9. Only thing I can tell you is CB advanced is not good for HT- in my opinion, you may be better off trying a different wick or letting it cure longer to see if it improves- I was curious about that FO when I last ordered there, I may have to give it a try
  10. That is The Candle Makers Store correct? If so, No I have not but may have to try a sample and see as it sounds pretty good- I have looked several times on their website but something about it keeps me from ordering from them- have you tried many of their FO's? I live in Michigan and CMS is in Ohio and believe it or not- it is cheaper for me to order from CS in North Carolina! I have priced out the same wax and some FO's and CMS is way higher in shipping and I live practically next door
  11. It figures- I just ordered my wax yesterday and they come out with new scents today! I love Rosemary I use this EO alot and the blends I have done and loved that "could" be comparable in FO from candlesciece are: -lavender -peppermint and eucalyptus -cedarwood vanilla ( I have not tried this FO but I blend cedarwood EO with rosemary EO and it is wonderful-not sure what the vanilla would do) -basil and herb I think would be a good one -lemon verbena -citronella -I would be curious to try this in Frank & Myrrh also- I have used staight Frankincense EO and liked it Geranium is my favorite to blend with this but I have yet to find a straight up geranium FO for candles!! Let us know what you try- I have to wait now until I need more supplies to order it myself
  12. That sounds interesting- and I just poured autumn leaves a couple of weeks ago and handed it over to my mother- I did not like it at all (she takes what I consider yucky smells- she will burn anything for free!) but I bet it would of been awesome in hayride- I will have to order another sample and give it a try I will have to check my invoices though...it could of been falling leaves from Rustic Escentuals I am thinking of- cant keep them all straight- I swear I have my own little mini sampler store in the basement- I cannot stop buying and trying!
  13. I dont detect alot of green grass in this one- it's a hard one for me to describe I have horses and it reminds me of stacking 400+ bales of hay fresh off the wagon! LOL- or to be more exact it really reminds me of the sweet breath of the actual horse AFTER eating the hay... It has a sweetness to it but a very prominent drier grass/earth smell if that makes any sense? I love it but have not tested in an actual candle yet- just wax melts and it is very strong in my pb/135 blend Tall Grass from Peaks to me is more of a fresh mown lawn / damp green smell .... but I am also one of those that thinks black raspberry vanilla smells like cat piss so I don't know if that helps! LOL
  14. CS Blue Spruce....although now I am wondering about Xmas Past! LOL
  15. All of them!! LOL well I havent tried all but mostly all- the strongest throwing for me in 464 are: Lavender (in melts and candles) Smoke and Odor Eliminator (in melts and candles) Oakmoss & Amber (in melts and candles) Mistletoe (in melts and candles) Clean Cotton (in melts and candles) Honeycomb (in melts) Beach Linen (in melts) Caribbean Teakwood (in melts) I mix Day at the spa and Rainwater - amazing (in melts and candles) Lemon Verbena (in melts and candles) Honeysuckle Jasmine (in melts and candles) Mac Apple (in melts and candles) lavender vanilla (in melts) Dragons Blood (in melts) Frank & Myrrh (in melts and candles) Gardenia (in melts) Grapefruit & Mangosteen (in melts and candles) Nag Champa (in melts) Jamaica me crazy (in melts) Sex on the beach (in melts and candles) Vanilla Hazelnut (in melts) Banana Nut Bread (in melts) tester candles poured but havent lit yet Very Vanilla (in melts) Angel (candles and melts) Amaretto Nog (in melts) Baby Powder (in melts and candles) Black Cherry (in melts and candles) Blue Spruce (in melts) Cinnamon Buns (in melts and candles) Citronella (in melts) tester candles poured but havent lit yet Raspberry Truffle (in melts and candles) Gingerbread, Christmas Hearth and pumpkin souffle are strong also in melts but I did not care for them at all I have in the works to test: Hansel and Gretels house pumpkin pie cream brulee Spice Market Black Raspberry vanilla Maple syrup Bayberry Raspberry Sangria LOVE CS!!
  16. Same here... I use 464 and have tried a handful of them and had no problem- They are pricey but the ones I get from them are hard to find elsewhere as strong in soy. I buy the ultra or extreme concentrate and honestly there is not much difference between the 2- extreme is a little stronger in this wax but not by much stay away from blue grass- I liked the name and thought it would be a good country scent...YUCK! It took weeks to get the crap smell out of my house:laugh2: The Angel perfume is very dead on- and it is easier to wick than the CS version The few I use I have them as "signature" scents and are more money- Have not had anyone complain and they purchase regularly
  17. In 464 I have very different results with Cd vs. HTP- but I was mainly meaning the CDN is a big difference from the CD in the way it burns and throws scent in the soy wax- it does make a difference...so far in the few I have tested With the HTP's I also run into the wick curling under itself in that it keeps extinguishing- but I also use a very difficult jar- 8 ounce square mason With paraffin I am sure you have completely different results but it is odd that you have experienced the burnt smell also- I thought I was losing my mind and lost my sense of smell altogether! LOL
  18. I have the best results with the CD wicks- I still test all new fragrances with the HTP but in most cases the CD is the one that comes out the winner- I am now retesting alot of them with the CDN and I am really liking these wicks so far! It is strange how the htp can smell burnt- the FO's it does work in for me I love them- the burn on them is awesome I have never tried making paraffin candles but it is interesting that it happened to you and me with completely different waxes
  19. BCN has adorable snowman containers under the clearance and surplus section- price is good (40% off) and they are very cute for not just Xmas but winter also I bought them this spring thinking they were closing them out and see they are still offering them
  20. No I never smelled or tried Berts but I have sampled some of their other oils last winter and for me they didnt throw that great in 464- not even in melts, so I cannot compare it - I thought another company was taking this one over? I have tried BCN and NG but again- not strong enough for me
  21. Peaks Purely Peppermint is very strong- I have had great hot throw from this one (I use soy) and it smells just like a candy cane
  22. That is the type I mainly offer- warming plate with removable bowl and I have the mosiacs with light bulb from levine for something different - I have mine at $25.00 but it comes with 3 Melts of their choice. I figure if they will pay $40.00 or more for scentsy and have to buy the wax on top of it, my price is $25.00 (still way cheaper) and they get to pick out 3 different melts to try in them (I do not use clam shells-I indiviudually wrap mine like y-nk--) and everyone that has bought so far comes back for more- they love them and the price! (quite a few have been surprised they get all that for that price- recently being at a scenty party) I am not advertising or marketing at all right now- we have 3 other businesses and my time is very limited but I set up an area in our office of my candles and melts and warmers and I am amazed at how many people do come in -buy them- it is at least letting my buy more supplies to keep testing and adding more!
  23. I have had a lot of fragrances with the HTP smell burnt and I use soy- 464 and had very little mushroom I have found the spice FO's and the Fruits to be the worst- I dont understand it but it happens to me to- BUT they burned better than the CD's in several other fragrances like pink sugar and lavender
  24. I have used the Orange Pomander ( I dont think they sell anymore), Eskimo Kisses, and a Eucalyptus/Spearmint they dont sell anymore and they were wonderful in 464- I still use eskimo kisses but the others didnt sell real well for me and their Geranium Egyptian Rose EO is fantastic in CB135 I buy mostly carrier oils and EO's from them for aromatherapy products and I love the quality and the customer service
  25. The CDN in the 8 ounce square mason jar with 464 and CS Macintosh Apple so far is doing great- This jar is a PITA but I LOVE it and it totally fits the country look I want...I keep looking at other jars but just cannot leave the square mason so I hope the CDN's are going to be the ticket! Thanks for the recommendation on this wick and where to find them without buying thousands at a time in a previous post-now I can keep on re-testing and spend more $$$....LOL!
