  1. Moonstar....You and Trappeur and all you guys out there are just so sweet ! Thank you! The coconuts are fun and just add a little something extra to your line! I bought a large plastic container from Walmart like this...a LOW edged BIG container like this one below (TRY to place in an area or on a table so you do not have to move it..because it WILL be heavy..get someone to help you move if you do need to move it) ......fill it about half full of play sand and nestle your already modged podged, already wicked, empty half shells in it...and then pour your scented wax right into your shells...sometimes I need to tweak my shells to get the even level of wax (because you are just eye balling when placing in the sand) but that is so easy to do. Just let solidify right in this container. When cool take out and wipe the little sand particles off the bottom of your shells (I hold right over top of this container to do this.) All done and ready to package and IF there is a spill...it is right into the sand and you can just toss that little bit of wax/sand into the trash. No messy clean up which is gooooooood! A great way to offer these is to sell the coconut shell, the clay pot, a bag of clean sand (from Walmart) and sea shells....all in a large cello bag. (I buy mine from Nashville Wraps) or just sell individually or in a set of floating candles. You can get sea shells here http://sourcingnorthwest.com along with other gorgeous potpourri products (if you are thinking of making...idea, ideas ) Their products are absolutely TOP OF THE LINE AWESOME AND BEAUTIFUL!!!!!! The green candle color from the glass container that I made is from the Cajun Candle liquid dye recipe page (LOVE their scent/color recipe page along w/Nature's Garden's suggested liquid color recipe with each scent) ...it is the color for Cool Citrus Basil - Cajun's recipes are for an 8 lb recipe so for every pound of wax you would use 3 drops of their liquid green colorant to get this color.
  2. I use the single EZ Wick Setter for the 8 oz square masons, 12 and 21 oz status jars, 16 oz masons, 4 oz flower pots, 4 oz jelly jars, votive cups etc and I use the multi for the 22 oz thumbprint jars, 8 oz comfort jars , 16 oz comfort jars and 24 oz comfort jar, 11 and 22 oz tureen jars and have triple wicked a larger heavy glass candle container(see below). The EZ Wick Setters are just a cinch to use and saves a lot of time when pouring several scents and jars. I put votive wicks in these EZ Wick Setters for votives and use two votive wicks in the multi for the coconut shell candles - see below. I buy the coconut shell halves that BCN carries. I coat the outside and inside of the shell with Modge Podge to seal the shell, let dry then double wick w/votive wicks. These will float and look so pretty. The bottoms are rounded so I put on my warning labels to put sand in a clay saucer nestle the coconut shell in the sand and surround with sea shells or float them in a galvanized tub with flowers. . 3. Hi Moonstar! In all the years of my candle making, there are TWO times I seriously felt like crying with joy (maybe I did...it's been so long ago)...it was when I purchased my two presto pots w/spigots (no longer had to do double boiler method) and when I got these EZ Wick Setting tools...I got one of each....Seriously...my frustration with trying to center wicks drove me absolutely crazy and to tears.. You use these with the wick stickums..once I place my wicks in the jars, I tamp the metal edges down with the unsharpened end of a pencil to make sure they are secure to the bottom of the jar. To me, this is one of the best inventions ever made for the candle maker. I also use these to center tabs for votive cups and my coconut shell candles. These will not fit into every jar...and that is when you place everything as level and as evenly as possible and then wick using these, but if I did not have these, my wicks would be way off. I have had these for years and just love them. They are worth every dime you pay for them. EZ Wick System™ The Serious Tool for the Serious Candle Maker Operating Instructions For the Single Wick Setting Tool The EZ Wick Setter was designed to fit a large number of the most popular containers used by candlemakers. Setting the tool up for different size and depth containers is a snap and only takes a few seconds. Set-Up Patent Pending The Multi This workhorse is destined to be the tool that every candlemaker who double or triple wicks will own. This tool makes double or triple wicking child's play. Just think, offering double or even triple wicked candles for a fund raiser. You would never have considered that before. The Multi EZ Wick Setter will set either two or three wicks in a container.

  9. Hi BLT212. I know everyone's sniffer is different BUT I just love the SC Fresh Mown Hay. I tried the BCN Hayride version and it didn't smell a bit like hay to me...but that's my sniffer. I was looking for a TRUE hay scent for blends.....well SC has it and I'll betcha they would really like it. You owe it to yourself to at least try a small bottle. I think you just might love it along with those Draft Horse Rescue Organization folks.
  10. Hi Lora and welcome to the board! Fellow paraffin user here. I love my 4786 container wax and 4625 pillar.
  11. Hey Moonstar, You don't need that 90 degree elbow at all. You will never miss it. It would screw up into the spigot. When I do my tarts, I put my tart blend wax into the pot.. when the wax is melted, I then use what I need and if there is any left, I just leave it in there. It will solidify in the pot and when I need to make more I just plug the pot back in....it remelts the wax and I am ready to pour tarts again and just have to add more wax as needed. If you will need the presto melter to make other types of wax products, just pour the leftover wax into a stainless steel bowl and cover it, but I always label what type the wax is. At that point (when you pour the wax into another bowl or use all the wax in the melter) you can wipe out the whole inside of it with paper towels. I use these presto pots to just melt the waxes, use the spigot to fill up my pour pots (I put my liquid dye, my UV inhibitor and my scent into the pour pot)...the only thing my melter has in it, is wax only. I will tell you something else I do which I learned way too late...you know all wax has black specks, etc in it. Get yourself a tightly meshed strainer (tea bag strainer) and lay it across the top of your pour pot and as the wax comes out of the spigot, it goes through the strainer and you end up with really clean wax. Those black specks at the bottoms of my jars/tarts used to drive me crazy, until I started using the strainer. I love it too.
  12. I ordered 2 of these melters years and years ago from this company and just love them and the spigots too. Now, you do have to wait until the wax does melt enough in the spigot to allow free flow of the wax into the pour pot, but I just love mine and once it does melt, even as you are adding more wax to melt, it won't stop up on you again while you are using it. It is just the initial getting started. I clip a candy thermometer on the side of this warmer to make sure I keep my temps where they need to be. But, while the wax is melting and the spigot is warming up, I get my other things done for making my tarts etc while my wax is melting anyhow. When mine die...if they do, I will order from these guys again.
