  1. Well, thought we would start this thread again =) It's always fun to see how everyone did and hear some of the stories about others markets =) Off to ours today (day 2 of 3). We do ours every weekend here in Ohio, it's a indoor one =) Anyways, our Friday was pretty much dead... did do ok tho comparatively and did get lots of cleaning and rearranging done =) So will post more later when we get home....but is it just our market??? At times, I would swear we were back in High School with all the drama and clicks.... Have a wonderful day everyone and can't wait to hear about yours =)
  2. A picture would be best I think at this point, but a "greasy" top.... could be the FO resting on top maybe or a few things but a picture would help lots =) Wouldn't think it was the FO tho, being you did 1oz per pound... hmm..
  3. Oh dam If your ever in the market again hun just let us know... we still have a TON of things that we probably will never get back to making and would love to get rid of it =) So sad tho, we didn't make our trip this week due to the weather and really didn't need much =)
  4. Here's one I found too, Look at your navagation bar to the left on these 2 pages: http://www.northwoodcandlecompany.com/candle_shop.html http://www.northwoodcandlecompany.com/soy_container_candles.html Not sure if it's supposed to be different but it seemed weird.. Still tooling around the site so may be back with more.. all in all, it looks great!
  5. Good catch Lisa and thanks for the heads up =) So sad some will go to this length... If you have ever been on Etsy, you have had this and the "bloggers" email as well..
  6. Deb and the crew really are expanding the B&B line immensely! We have had the pleasure of meeting her and getting to talk in depth a few times and some of the things to come are simply amazing =) NG is big right now, but just wait, they are about to get even bigger =)
  7. On a side note tho.... has anyone seen what WSP is doing now??? Show & Tell, Recipe Box and some other things..... Can we say CopyCat???? LOL
  8. Now this makes me wonder how many of you guys we have seen at NG =) We make a weekly trip up that way and always are amazed at the new things they have =) And we all know how much fun (and time) we have smelling FO's =)
  9. Always like NG's Fresh Cut Grass =) Had a women at our market talking to us one day, saying how many scents we have...then she says...."I bet you don't have Fresh Cut Grass", so I turned around and opened it up for her.... she bought 3 of them =)
  10. LOL I probably look like your labs trying to figure it all out too =) Diving in is the way to go, but if your like me my attention span is like nothing... so when it gets confusing I just go.... Oh look shinny bunnies =) And off to something else =)
  11. 10 packs in a bubble mailer?? That's one big bubble mailer =) We ship singles or 2 of's in the bubble mailers but not 10 =) Best of luck =)
  12. Ok not cherry scented (but guess you could mix some cherry with it), NG has this Sparkling Clean and I swear it smells like the urinal cakes in the men's room :laugh2:
  13. I would get one of those little 6 x 6 x 7 Priority boxes from USPS and use those =) Maybe a little bit of peanuts or packing and your good =) Little by little were finding that those "flat rate" boxes are NOT that great of a deal... Perfect example is for the same things, shipped in a medium flat rate box, we used a larger Priority Box we got FREE from the USPS, weight was only around 2 pounds but the box was at least twice the size of the medium flat rate, and it only cost around $8 - 9 to ship from Ohio to California... So anymore, we don't automatically use the flat rates, they don't seem "cheaper" to us =) HTH
  14. UGH! So totally agreed with Quickbooks NOT being so "quick"! The worst is setting it all up and if we had gotten that far, we would so help you =) There has to be an easier way!! =) Best of luck and will keep an eye on this one for any tips anyone has =)
  15. Kinda looks like it might be granulated wax that they scent... that would melt like they say too =) HTH
  16. We actually get quite a few single clamshell sales from people just testing out =) We typacilly use either a bubble mailer or small boxes from different merchandise we have with a few packing peanuts and have never had a problem. Something to bear in mind my hubby told me about (he works for the USPS), if you sending them First Class mail, then your package will only be up against other packages at a maximum of 13 ounces, so the odds of them being broke are slim to none. Compare that to shipping a bubble mailer via Priority Mail, some of those packages can be up to 7 pounds! So our little bubble mailer could be smashed to bits =) Also with a bubble mailer or small box, they are not ran through machines like letters are, so no worries about the machines eating it up =) Hope that helps you some and Happy New Years!

    wood roses

NG has a ton of them and they look amazing!! You only use straight FO on them, only a few drops actually. You want to keep the FO away from the "base" (where all the petals are attached to the stem) due to that part is glued and the FO will eat the glue and all your petals go "boom" on the floor =) As far as sales goes with them, MEH! We carry them at our market and have maybe sold a couple dozen so far in the past year... Well we did get a custom order for 3 dozen once, but other then that... there they sit =) Hope that helps some =)
  18. You could always request a sample from eClamshells, they will send you a few free and test with those =) That way you have nothing to lose =) http://www.eclamshell.com/ The normal clamshell it seems everyone uses is item # 1524 I think =) HTH
  19. This is kind of like the one you pictured OP =) http://www.dedeceplus.com/plus/dedecePlus_product.cfm?ID=2362 If anyone would like to buy one for me (over $100!) Pm me for my address
  20. Oh my! I hope you guys get this figured out and it's nothing too serious! Have you tired to smell "strong" things at all? Maybe like Vicks vapor rub? I know if I stay in the house to long all the smells seem to blend and I don't smell them anymore... but go outside for a few hours and come back and there they are again =) Hopefully someone that might know more will chime in for you here...
  21. Can't really say that we have had this problem before... What clamshell are you using? Does the same "funky smell" happen in other scents?? First thing that comes to mind is maybe its melting the plastic and that is what your smelling??
  22. I think its dollar deals up here or one of those dollar stores have some really big, heavy glass ones for $1.00 each =) Natures Garden has a Beer scent that is a dead hit as well =)
  23. While I can't say we use any of those suppliers you have, I would say you have a good variety and it should be a good starting point =) You are right, jar size, wick size, pour temps, how much FO, etc... are all variables and these forums are wonderful for tips and info =) If you haven't seen it there is a search box up top you can search your wax type, wicks, etc and find tons of info =)
  24. Oh doesn't it always work that way too!! They can NEVER ask for what you have back stock of LOL We finally got all our orders out today for the holidays =) I can't remember the last time I had that many boxes going to the post office =) Looks like we might have a large rush order they emailed us about today too =) Candle making..... It's a love / hate thing =) lol
  25. Looks like your on the right track =) If your going to color them you will need dyes or color blocks... we use liquids for ours =) Your right also, test, test, test... then just for S & G test it one more time =) As far as presto pots, don't have one here (big 100lb melter rules!) But I want to say they hold around 4lbs =) HTH and welcome to the wild world of candle making =)
