  1. I've only seen Hawaiian Sandalwood but it's a darn good one. Haven't yet ordered the AH version, I assume it's the same as TW. Some of my favs: Country Christmas Blissful Blackberry (wonderful in B&B products) Interlude Blue Skies Sweet Amber Musk Pumpkin Creme Brulee Christmas Bliss Herbal Raspberry
  2. I think The Scent Works True Lilac is really good.
  3. Dragon's Blood definitely. I picked up some of the Burberry and soaped it. Very nice scent.
  4. Your Soapcalc numbers look good. The batch size isn't listed so can't verify the lye. Your lard percentage may be a bit high. That probably makes the soap fairly soft initially. One thing to realize is the hardness number doesn't mean the physical hardness. It means how quickly the bar will dissolve in water. Pure castille will cure out to an extremely hard bar but doesn't last as long in the shower. I think the higher the Oleic content the quicker it dissolves. It takes a good 4 to 6 weeks for a bar to cure. If you use full water, it can take even longer for the water to evaporate and the bar to harden. It's not like M&P that is rock hard the next day. You can add hard butters like cocoa, or palm oil or some sodium lactate to make the bar physically harder after unmolding. I haven't tried HP or CPOP, so not sure how hard those are initially. Hopefully one of our more experienced soapers will weigh in. They will probably explain it better than I can. :smiley2:
  5. I think it was a small size from NG. It's pretty salt but didn't melt very quickly.
  6. I use their EuroSpa, Cera and Dead Sea Salt in my salt soak blend. I get the course in all of them. I don't think they are too large and they melt nicely in the water. In one small batch I added some course Pink Himalayan Salt to the mix for a little color (not from Salt Works). They were larger than the others and didn't melt very well. I think they have very nice salt and they usually have free shipping, which is a bonus.
  7. My fragrance shelf (shelves :embarasse) is ever expanding.
  8. Would these possibly be scents from Elements? If so, Tuscan Lace would be lovely. My oldest son even likes this one. I just got Kai and haven't tried it yet. Very pretty fragrance. I would probably try that or Whispers of Love. I don't care for Manuka Lavender but then again, I don't like any lavender. The Sparkling Green Tea seems to be more of a bath truffle type of fragrance, very clean. I think the Patchouli Honey is the Patch Passion from Moonworks. For me, put that in anything and I will love it. Calabrian Begamot and Violet from AH/RE and The Scent Works True Lilac do very well for me. Maybe you can mix a drop or two in a bit of the lotion. See how it works for you.
  9. I push my tart wax sometimes, too. If 1oz pp is good, 2oz must be better, right? :) (jk) I'll get the bloom, like in the first pic, if I've went a bit too far with the FO. I've done it on melts I make for myself and I REALLY like the fragrance. But as Chris said, 3oz pp of any FO is a waste. And like Karen said, this is how you learn your wax and your system. Take good notes and you'll know for the next time. Good luck with your next batch! J
  10. May I ask what FO% you are using? It looks like it could be a couple of things. One, too much FO for your wax combination. Or two, didn't mix the FO well enough. Your first pic looks like the FO is not mixed very well and the second like too much FO. Are the tarts weepy at all?
  11. Beautiful soaps!! I've done tiger swirls. Zebra is a new one.
  12. I only do melts but what does well for me from AH are Country Christmas, Frosted Winterberry and Pumpkin Creme Brulee (Jack up above turned me on to that one).
  13. The swirls turned out beautifully and the layered colors are perfect. Everything is wonderful. I LOVE that peacock mold for the bath truffles. Where did you find that and what is the weight of a truffle?
  14. Thank you. I really like the little spider lines through the neon blue. Great soap.
  15. Looks like maybe Daystar. They call it Ahoy Matey. If you are using for soap, according to the review board this scent does move pretty fast. And the scent does stick. So use a recipe that is slower to trace.
  16. I love it!! Really cool effect. Did you use a divider or just poured at the same time?
  17. Welcome to the forum Glenn!! We have some wonderful and knowledgeable here. I think you will enjoy it! J
  18. The picture isn't the best, but is it maybe these... http://mckernan.com/store/LOTION-PUMPS-24-410-FINISH-SMOOTH-0.5-ML-WITH-A-LOCK-UP-HEAD-AND-A-6-7-8-50912.html
  19. What color did you use to get that nice watermelon red?
  20. Beautiful soap! My DIL would LOVE those.
  21. That turned out wonderfully!! Maybe after a bit of cure the blue will darken up for you. My purple micas seem to do that. Fade a bit then turn into a nice, dark purple. Can't wait to try it!!
  22. Nice freebies!! Have fun soaping the cocoa butter.
  23. Not sure what you are looking for, but Elements has a Japanese Pear and Ginseng that is outstanding in B&B.
  24. It's a very nice fragrance. I would probably consider it Unisex scent. You could probably cut back on the amount used, at least in soap. I have a couple of bars I made last year and it is still very strong. I used .7 oz ppo.
