  1. According to the FAQ they are made of Ethyl vinyl acetate. Some sort of plastic. Wonder how the fragrance oil absorbs. DH thinks it might be injected.
  2. Chandler, I have an ounce of the Harvest Moon from the lady on the soap forum. So, that can go with mine. Moonshine, I still have 8 ounces of Suede left if you want me to send from my stash. Morning Sunrise I have and pretty sure I have a one ounce bottle of Patch Raspberry. If you can PM me the address, I'll get these to FB.
  3. I wonder if palm wax doesn't absorb as well when cold. country bee, what was a long time? Longer than a week?
  4. Thanks sporadic, I forgot about that. With that you can use your current wax and crush with the rolling pin. I won't be those uniform soy drops but not sure it matters. May have to give that a try.
  5. According to Enchanted Lites, American Soy Organics picked up their Millennium soy wax. They sell it by the pound... http://store.americansoywax.com/Millennium-Soy-Wax_p_7.html
  6. Looks like they are using a wax in pellet form, something like this. http://candlesoylutions.com/thumbnail.asp?cid=22&offset=0 The wax is just colored and fragranced similar to bath salts. They have a tut here... http://candlesoylutions.com/thumbnail.asp?offset=0&deep=1&cid=70 hth
  7. Harvest Moon - A bold clove with a hint of orange combination meets with a sweet and velvety vanilla base. Infuse this medling with tangy jamaican nutmeg, ginger and freshly ground cinnamon
  8. Not sure I kept a box to get the exact address. But, the USPS shipping notice has the origin as Acworth, Ga, which is not far from me at all. The About Us page does say they are a web-based business only. He may not want to handle phone calls. Not sure why there isn't at least a city listed. Maybe to discourage questions about warehouse pickups?
  9. She is also sending an ounce of Harvest Moon. Moonshine, is that one in the works? Ok, is anyone else interested in MW Morning Sunrise? Or, am I the only one that likes that. I got a couple of extra pounds from some wonderful members here, but that will eventually run out. The sound alike from Soapalooza isn't even close.
  10. A lady has half an ounce she is going to send me. May not be enough, but maybe someone else has another half ounce...
  11. Chandler, I'm posting about the newly duped fragrances over on a soaping forum and ask anyone to let me know if they have any available.
  12. I have some Merlin's Forest, I can send that to them along with the Redwood and Cedar. Moonshine, do you have a contact number or email that you have been using? I haven't tried yet.
  13. I'll contact them and see what they say. Thank you for the feedback.
  14. Just thought about this because of another post asking about Cedar. I have been hoarding a bit of Bert's Redwood and Cedar. Would this be a scent people would be interested in having duped? It is the best and strongest Cedar fragrance I have ever found. Although, I did not try MW Forest Nymph. Someone had said it wasn't like Bert's. I'm sure Fragrance Buddy is getting overwhelmed with requests for the MW fragrances so wanted to check interest here before contacting them. If I'm the only one then wouldn't be worth their effort. Anyone else?
  15. The only supplier I used from the lists above that cannot be paid with Paypal is Sweetcakes. I ordered from WSP, NG and Fragrance Buddy recently. But, those were through Paypal.
  16. Mine was hit yesterday for over $430 at Body Building .com. No idea what that site is. Third time in the last year, annoying as hell.
  17. I actually found some longer pans with plastic lids, deeper than a jelly roll but those would work very well. I just put the whole sticks in the pan and pour the oil over the charcoal part. Of course, the handles do get wet. I have a couple of small tongs and I just move the sticks around periodically. I couldn't find jars/vases that were tall/skinny enough to put in 50 to 100 sticks and not have to use twice as much FO/DPG mixture than on the sheets. I haven't tried very hard since incense is more of a niche market for me, not a lot of sales but I do have a following. Old Glory, that is actually a good idea, screens over sheet pans. Any issues with the FO or DPG eating through the screen? I get DPG from Madina Industrial. The per pound has gone up $1. But, they now have 10lb and 30lb containers at a discount. http://www.madinaonline.com/items.asp?Cc=CUT_OILS&iTpStatus=1&Tp= Moonshine, to me, the biggest difference between charcoal and wood punks is when burning. Charcoal gives a pure fragrance scent while wood punks will have a smokey quality while burning. Plus, I grew up on Gonesh so have always liked charcoal. I think wood requires a bit more FO/DPG mixture to get a good soak. Again, in my experience. Charcoal is more messy so take that in to consideration. If you want to try both wood and charcoal, you can get them both at Save on Scents. The overall cost will be higher than the links Chandler listed, but they both require a minimum order. I'm actually going to be placing an order with SOS sometime this week and I'll be happy to include what you might want on the order. I can send the sticks in a flat rate envelope which should be cheaper than shipping from SOS. Chandler, I have been wanting to try the incense from Nemat. They have 8-1/2 charcoal sticks, so they are shorter and fatter, but the same burn time as the 10 inch. I think there could be more packaging options with the shorter sticks. But, with the minimum order requirement and then the shipping which is very high, I would end up with 6,000 sticks. Would take me a long time to go through that many sticks. I think the min order from Scents of Paradise is even higher for a first order. Not sure about shipping.
  18. I use 50/50 DPG and FO oil also. Soak the whole sticks in the oil mixture for at least 48 hours. At least once a day I'll move the sticks around and make sure the oil is covering everything. I have several of the large wide-mouth candle jars I got from Hobby Lobby, put a couple of wadded up paper towels in the bottom, and stand the sticks up in those and let dry for a couple of days. The jars sit in a couple of throw-away aluminum roaster pans to catch the drips. I use charcoal sticks which are pretty messy themselves, so I always put on gloves. I get a very good, true fragrance. Merlin's Forest is excellent in incense. Try the Patchouli Passion as well.
  19. I picked up some more Sweetcakes oils to try this week based on the recommendations in this thread. This order I got Strawberry, Blackberry, Green Clover and Aloe, Lily of the Valley, Lemon Grass, Peony Petals, Sweetgrass, Orange Blossom, Woodlands, Lime Margarita and, at Moonshine's urging, Hotel Costes. I've had the opportunity to try some of Moonshine's candles and tarts with other SC fragrances so I know she has good suggestions. se2653 - do put the Champacca in wax. That was a scent I had in one of Moonshine's candle and it was wonderful. Like Chandler, Hotel Costes was so-so OOB for me. Reminded me of Sandalwood. But, I put some on a test strip and it is really starting to develop. Some of the spicy notes are coming through. Will have to put that in wax or soap. Was surprised by Orange Blossom. Is actually very nice OOB and I'm not getting a fuel/plastic smell. Reminds me of the Orange Blossom Honey and other products at the stands that used to be up and down the highways in Florida back in the day. This is my Mom's favorite scent and I hope it holds up in product. Haven't really found one that does. The Blackberry is nice, maybe a bit sweet. I'm hoping I get a good blend with the Pomegranate I picked up from FB. Love, love, love Woodlands OOB. Between this and Cranberry Woods from Fragrance Buddy, I have two of my favorites from BBW. This is a nice men's fragrance, possibly unisex. Will be a nice addition to my other two popular men's fragrances. Hoping to have some nice soap, lotions and wax melts. Thanks everyone for the suggestions.
  20. Here are a couple off the list... Enchanted Spice An intoxicating combination of a nutty sweet cream on a bed of freshly grated nutmeg and carmelized pecans. The tempting notes of ground almond, marzipan and thick vanilla are swirled with a brown sugar bouquet. Guinevere's Attraction This fragrance opens with a delicate but seductive warm peach brandy swirling with vibrant notes of violets and black current. As the restrained floral traces recede a hearty pairing of nutty praline and rich creamy brown sugar transpires amid a foundation of fresh amber and a resonant earthy vanilla musk Saffron and Spice A brilliant, spicy combination of heady saffron and cinnamon on a stout base of spicy-resinous cedar bark. Warm clove and hearty patchouli round out the remarkably exotic pairing, resulting in a brisk and woodsy unisex fragrance. And a few more.... Bay & Citrus This bold blend begins with tart tangy notes of mandarin and bergamot infused with sweet clove and zesty cinnamon bark. As the citrus and spice melds, an earthy sweetness of bay leaves emerge, leading to a sultry vanilla and sandalwood musk grounded in aged patchouli Earthen Oak Bourbon vanilla liquor aged in an old oak barrel, embodied by cedarwood and patchouli, softened by amber and a touch of sandalwood. The resulting fragrance is an earthy vanilla with a hint of musk Sun and Earth A ripe blend of juicy citrus with nuances of sweet tart raspberries. Add to this sparkling combination a mellow and subtle bouquet of violets on a musky base of oakmoss, cedarwood and earthy patchouli.
  21. Maybe a server was down or they were doing maintenance. I couldn't get in at first and now I can.
