  1. I got mine yesterday afternoon and put some on a test strip. OOB you really get the spicy note, reminds me of anise or allspice. And, early on on the test strip it is spicy. But overnight it calmed down and developed, to my nose anyway, into the same fragrance as the soap sliver we got from Judy. Just a hint more spice. CP probably tames the spice a bit. It is a lovely scent. For those of you that have used this in soap and B&B, do you cut back a little on the percentage? This seems like a fragrance that could be overwhelming if too strong.
  2. I still have the sliver of soap Judy sent to us. I so hope it still smells like that because I love it.
  3. I think I got the notice that Goddess is on it's way to me!! Yay!!!
  4. Ok, now you're going to make me open a package of Skittles. DS and DIL love them and I keep little packs of them in the candy basket.
  5. Scented, I wonder if you are thinking of Tony's Amber. When was on an Amber search a couple of years ago that seemed to be the popular choice, but it has been discontinued. Rumor has it SGS is bringing back the Amber but will be reformulated for IFRA. Candybee, I have 3 Egyptian Dragons, Oregon Trails (If there is still some in the bottle), Southern Soapers (Denise) and just got the one from Agilex from 8 Gran Ones. I can send you sniffies if you would like.
  6. On the Soap Scent Review board it doesn't have very good reviews. Some of them are older but there is one from 2012, so assume the FO has not been reformulated. Basically the reviews state that it accelerates, rices, separates, morphs and fades. Apparently doesn't do very well in lotions or anything else either. Coconut must be a hard scent to make....
  7. This is a thread I keep bookmarked from our talented Candybee... http://www.craftserver.com/forums/showthread.php?90126-M-amp-P-Recipes
  8. Thank you for posting the response. I appreciate the update. J
  9. 8-Gran-Ones, there is now a note on their website about the company being a family-owned and operated business and it makes it difficult when a family member is ill. She did list another phone number to use rather than the usual business phone number. However, there is no mention of the status of the pre-buy fragrance oils. Maybe you could try calling the number to get a status. Might be better if just one person calls rather than everyone. Since it is too late to do reversals the best we can hope for is to get the product. J
  10. They turned out beautifully! I'm loving the tiger stripe technique.
  11. I have ordered their food grade lye on a couple of occasions and have been very pleased with the service and the quality of the lye. Haven't tried anything else from there. Keep an eye on AAA Chemicals as well. They offer discounted shipping on their lye every so often.
  12. It would be nice if they would post a message on the website. The pre-buys were removed. Wouldn't think it would that hard to put a status on the page. Don't need exact dates, just 'The following pre-buy fragrances have been ordered. We hope to have them in-house in the next couple of weeks'. Anything is better than crickets....
  13. Did you carve that by hand? That turned out wonderfully!
  14. Brambleberry has them and they have good notes as to what bleeds or morphs. Two places I also use are TKB Trading and The Conservatorie. TKB has really good notes on what works in CP. They actually have several options under the Soap/Salts tab for colors and micas that are non-bleeding and stable. I think the have a minimum of $20. http://www.tkbtrading.com/category.php?category_id=8 The Conservatorie has a very large selection of micas. They have been going through and trying to add notes as to the CP stability of their micas. On another forum there are a couple of threads where soapers are testing their micas. I have some I need to add as well. The only issue I have noticed is they have discontinued their 30 gr size of micas and now only offer sample sizes, 100 gr and 500 gr. So, you want to be sure the mica works for you. They also moved to a $50 minimum order but I think you can order samplers without that restriction. http://theconservatorie.com/index.php Oh, The Conservatorie also has a collection they call Happy Hour. It's similar to the Pop Micas TKB used to carry. I think one of them morphs and another isn't as vibrant. Don't think there is anything that will really replace the Pops.
  15. I sent an email yesterday asking about the pre-buys and Goddess. Haven't heard anything back so far.
  16. Thanks for checking. From what I've read, colloidal may be ground even finer than the oat flour. May need to grab a box and try it in some soap.
  17. Is colloidal oatmeal the only ingredient? On the net it says Active Ingredient so wasn't sure. Wonder if it's any different than the oat flour I already have....
  18. I noticed the Pre-Buy category is no longer available. Wonder if they reached the minimum for this.
  19. I hope they sell through the website. I don't have Facebook and would love to get some of the oils if they have them, like Black Oak and Acorn.
  20. I really like the swirls. Beautiful soap!
