  1. Well, it sounds like a good description. Where did you get it?
  2. Sugared Vanilla Shortbread, because that's the one that everyone here raved about the most. Spice, because it was only $11.64 and I figured I could use it as a mixer if nothing else. Sage and Citrus YC type, because I googled most popular fragrances, and that was the #1 YC scent (according to one source) Lemon Lavender YC type, just because I've been wanting to try that one Pumpkin Chai, because it just sounded good, and also had positive feedback on this forum Free 1 ounce samples were Mango Mandarin, Mulberry Spice, Pomegranate Henri Bendel, Apple Cider Donut, and Lemongrass Sage. I almost ordered a pound of Paris Amour, because I had gotten a one ounce sample of that from Tennessee, but those kind of scents don't sell well for me. Besides I couldn't decide if I even really liked it. Oh how I love to get new fragrances. I had tried to limit myself before Christmas, but I've decided, this is my hobby and I'll spend lots of money on FO's if I want to...so what if I have a bunch I haven't even used yet. I just got a couple of new ones from Natures Garden because I had to restock some old ones. I like them both very much. Tropical Blast and Country Bumpkin.
  3. I've heard of Candles and Supplies, have perused their website a few times, but never bought anything. So that's good to know. But the supplier I'm asking about it Supplies 4 Candles.
  4. Never mind, I ordered from CandleWic instead. New supplier for me, but I researched them and saw that Candlewic is among the favorite suppliers of members here. What decided me though was the $10 off my first order for subscribing to their newsletter. Can't wait to receive my new FO's, and the 1 oz free samples.
  5. Sorry for the double post. I have no idea how that happened and don't know how to delete the duplicate topic.
  6. I had never heard of this company until I looked at the 'suppliers by state' topic. I looked on their website and they are having a great sale on FO's now. The trouble is, their site is not secure and I get a big warning that the connection is not private. So that is good enough reason not to add to my ever growing list of suppliers. But oh, some of those prices are tempting.
  7. I have bought many good FO's from Aztec, because of Old Glory's recommendations and their awesome sales. Some of my favorites are Sweet Potato and Brown Sugar - Yum! George Peach - smells just like a juicy ripe peach Cantaloupe & Lily - Very nice Citrus Fantasy Squirrelly Nut Caramel Pecan Pie Mango Peach Salsa Applejack & Peel Love Spell is a good seller for me right now, and Orange Blossom was popular last summer. I have a bunch more, but some I haven't used yet.
  8. I love their BBW type Sea Island Cotton and Pumpkin Pecan Waffle. Their Blueberry Cobbler is the best of all I've tried. Butterscotch Brulee is good; one of my customers loves that one. Home Sweet Home(YC type) has been a good seller for me. The only FO I've gotten from Cierra that I can't stand is Autumn Lodge, can't sell it either.
  9. I just poured it, and so far I'm not loving it either. But I saw several comments on how good it was on this forum, so I decided to try it when I placed my one and only order to Tennessee Candle. I like Aztec's Orange Blossom better, but that doesn't mean customers won't like it. We shall see. So nice of you to offer to send me your bottle. I will PM you. Thanks!
  10. Thanks Belinda. I saw Nature's Garden's description, but I sure don't smell any vanilla. There are 3 other descriptions on Fragrance oil finder and they're all different: Backwoods Fragrance & Supply "Fruits and florals mingle deliciously in this intoxicating citrus scent. The tangy aromas of tangerine and grapefruit with just a touch of floral combine to make this delightful scent a sure winner." Just Scent "A great blend of mandarin orange, California orange and a little splash of lemon. The tiniest hints of spearmint and fennel are mingled in to give you a refreshing jolt of dreamy orange!" Lone Star Candle Supply "A citrus bouquet of orange, lemon, tangerine and yuzu with hints of rose and lily of the valley on a background of musk and spice."
  11. Does anyone happen to have the description of Tennessee Candle Supply's Tangerine Dream? I like to post the description of a candle's scent on my facebook page. I've been looking on Fragrance Oil finder and copying the descriptions of the FO's I bought from Tennessee since they closed, but Tangerine Dream isn't listed. Is it straight tangerine or are there other elements? My nose can't tell.
  12. To me, Aztec's Georgia Peach smells just like a ripe juicy peach.
  13. Well, I went with Celtic Moonspice and it will be here tomorrow. I wish I could go to these suppliers' places of business and actually smell the FO's. I used to be able to do that when Bluegrass Candle was in Indianapolis about 30 minutes away from me. And I've driven to Ohio a few times to The Candlemaker's Store and smelled lots of their FO's.
  14. I see so many I want to try...maybe I'll wait until RE has their 99 cent sample sale and order a bunch.
  15. I was just reading Autumn Spice's scent description and noticed it said buttery vanilla, but also says no vanilla content. ???? I do like clove. Now I'm torn between Celtic Moonspice and Autumn Spice. Sheesh!
  16. I think I've decided on Celtic Moonspice. Did a search on it and someone here said it smelled like Peak's Amish Harvest which was also recommended. It's so hard to choose! Baked Apple is the other fragrance I'm ordering. I love it, but it does smell like Spicy Apple to me. Just like Home Interiors Baked Apple candle back in the 80's. My favorite!
  17. Thanks! I was looking at Warm & Cozy, but there were no reviews. I wanted to order another fragrance from RE plus some liquid dye, so don't want to order from Peak just now, even though I've read good things about Amish Harvest. Trying to save on shipping by getting what I need from one supplier. You know how that is.
  18. I was going to try Amish Quilt from Rustic Escentuals, but did a search here and found that some said it was a sweet scent. I'm looking for an FO that is spicy, but not overly sweet. Not straight cinnamon because I have that already. A lot of my FO's are too sweet for my granddaughter. Any others from RE fit that description? Or Nature's Garden?
  19. Don't forget Monkey Farts! Don't care for the name myself, but customers love it, I like Cantaloupe & Lily from Aztec. Ocean scents and tropical scents are good for summer; there are so many to choose from.
  20. My favorite fragrance oil suppliers have changed through the years. Now I order the most from Nature's Garden and Aztec. You can't beat Nature's Garden shipping charges. My last order was $100 and the shipping was $10. I like Aztec's sales and several of their FO's are my most popular scents. I also like Mill Creek, here in my home state of Indiana. Their prices are a little higher than Nature's Garden and Aztec but I really like several of their FO's. I also like the sample pack deal. 2 oz of each fragrance instead of just one. I do order from others from time to time, like Rustic Essentuals and Candlescience. I've ordered from Fragrance Buddy once, and I like what I got. May try them again sometime.
  21. I'm late to the party discussing apple scents, but my very favorite is Rustic Escentuals Baked Apple, Home Interiors type. Remember all those Home Interiors parties in the 80's? Sometimes I couldn't afford anything but a Baked Apple candle, but that was OK, because I loved that fragrance, and still do. When I first started making candles, I bought all kinds of apple pies, apple strudels, and apple dumplings FOs, searching for that scent from the 80's. I was so happy when I discovered RE carried it.
  22. I have not bought Maple St FO's, just their dye chips and clamshell molds. He has the best price I've found for clamshells. Speaking of liquid dyes, I have made the mistake of buying liquid dyes without the dropper lids. What a mess. I called The Candlemaker's Store to ask about droppers after I made such a mess with their dye and she said to buy the pipettes....well those are messy too. At least I make a mess with them. Then I bought liquid dye from Aztec and the dye had a regular lid but a dropper lid was included. I didn't think that when I put the dropper in the bottle, it would overflow the dye! They should make the bottles larger to accomodate the dropper. So from now one, I'm sticking to Rustic Esscentuals liquid dye. Nice glass bottles with droppers already on them!
  23. I used 444 for years, then tried 464 for 'better adhesion', and also because one supplier had a great sale on it. (Some suppliers don't even offer 444) I've also noticed a lot more people talk about 464 than 444. I gave 464 a shot. Didn't really see that much difference in how the wax adheres to the glass or how smooth the tops were. I went back to my 444 just because I like it better. It doesn't clump together in the box like 464 so is easier to scoop out. Seems to me like it cools down quicker for pouring too. And I shipped some candles to Nevada last summer and figured since 444 has a higher melt point, it is a better wax for hot weather. In the end, I believe it's personal preference and what works best for you.
  24. Maybe, but then we couldn't justify buying more new fragrances from a supplier to save on shipping. There's no way I can buy one bottle of fragrance oil. I do tend to get carried away though. I remember when a friend requested Midnight Jasmine. Well I found it at Cierra Candles....and wouldn't you know, if you buy $100 worth, you get free shipping. So that Midnight Jasmine cost me $100. BUT.....I found out that Cierra Candles has some great fragrance oils, and also sales ever so often. So it was worth it.
  25. You know what, I have all of those. You are brilliant!
