  1. I use this in C3. It is, without a doubt, one of the strongest scents that I have. No matter what else I make after that or before it, if I make CS Hazelnut Coffee, it drowns the rest out. I never used your wax though.
  2. I agree, Judy. I constantly strive to make a quality, affordable, safe, smelly candle. I have more repeat customers every year. I don't sweat the occasional mushroom, I don't put them under a magifying glass looking to see if each fiber in the wick burned equally, I embrace the wet spots, and I don't care about the dewpoint outside when I'm burning the candle. I run check point tests constantly on all my scents and I am secure in the knowledge that my candles are a good purchase for my customers. Its good to be respectful of the flame and its potential for damage but making a candle really doesn't have to be rocket science.
  3. Did you fill the turkey fryer with enough melted wax to cover the coils before you plugged it in? If the coils were not covered, that's why it smoked. Not sure about the digital display thing.
  4. It's time for the "pith" wick...http://honestlywtf.com/diy/diy-satsuma-candle/
  5. CS Wildberry Mousse...Yum. Maybe I'll add this one to my line.
  6. Every time I see the title of this thread, I think of Star Trek for some reason
  7. I thought it was direct linking to a website but now I think I'm wrong. That would be a hyperlink. I think hotlinking would be if someone just linked to an image and not to the whole website. So I guess it doesn't apply. Nevermind.
  8. I thought the forum doesn't allow hotlinking without permission of the owner. I was going to bring that up in the other thread but figured it would get lost in the upheaval.
  9. Try cooling without covering them.
  10. Did you try adjusting the sound on the actual video? There's a little speaker at the bottom of the Youtube screen which will allow you to increase the volume of the video itself. Your's may be set to mute or just down all the way.
  11. Love them, especially number 3. I assume you are just using them as background?
  12. I've never used USA so I can't help you there. Maybe melt those candles down for tarts to salvage the wax and the FO. I wouldn't sell them the way you are describing it. Sounds dangerous. Was it just drops on top or an actual pool of FO. If it was just some drops on top, could it be humidity?
  13. Do you stir again just before pouring? I pour C3 hotter, at 165. Maybe your FO is settling while the wax cools and the last jar you pour is too concentrated?
  14. It is common for soy not to get a full melt pool until the second or third burn. Keep burning the candle in 3 hour increments. It will get hotter at the bottom so you can't reach full melt pool too quickly or your jar will get too hot. I don't think your candles look that underwicked for two 3 hour burns, if that is what you did. I would finish them off and then try one wick higher on each and see how that goes.
  15. I was going to post exactly what Reyes posted.
  16. Looks like you might have had an air hole just below the surface near the wick.
  17. The reference to "items" is common in scams. No area code is questionable. And did it say "Dear," and you removed your name or is that what it said in the email?
  18. It is a scam. I forget how it works but it has something to do with security fees, the courier and paypal. I think its common on Craigslist.
  19. If you are selling your candles for $10 you would actually have to sell more than 10 to get your rent back because you need to deduct your cost of supplies. If you are selling at cost x2 you would need to sell 20 to get your rent back.
  20. 1. Average batch size - 15 pounds (three scents x 5 pounds each); sometimes only 5 pound batches (one scent) when I have limited time 2. Average number of fragrances on hand at any one time - 50 3. What is your typical fragrance oil purchase quantity - per oil? either one pound or 5 pounds, depending on the scent. 4. What is your typical order quantity for wax? 3 cases 5. What is your typical order quantity for glass? 30 - 50 cases 6. How long to do you keep wax (assuming you don't change) before you no longer use it? I always use it 7. What do you consider the shelf life of fragrance oil? they say a year but I've never had one go bad so IDK 8. Is the shelf life of FO a factor in determining the quantity of oil you purchase? Not really shelf life as much as expense. I only get what I think I will be able to use in a year.
