  1. I prefer to test in a normal, everyday home environment since that is where my customers burn their candles. If that means there is the occasional draft or a temperature change or anything else that occurs in most households, my candles should still burn well. If I make them to burn in a laboratory setting, what good does that do my customers? Just my opinion, I'm sure there are others.

    Bars of Lever!!

I have found that a lot of guys like lilac in candles and things like that. It seems kind of funny but I definitely see a pattern.
  3. Even if you are just fooling around with candles, a presto pot will make your hobby much more enjoyable.
  4. The candle and the container are beautiful. But for that much money, I want the website to be perfect. There are too many typos and the grammar is poor. (i.e. Honey Suckle, "Our candles comes in 5 fragrances")
  5. How would you feel if you were antho? Just because its legal doesn't mean its the right thing to do.
  6. Dragon's Blood is a plant, I believe. A resin is derived from the plant. I think its uses are ancient.
  7. Are you asking for opinions on the look? If so, I think the lug looks nicer.
  8. Soy wax is hydrogenated vegetable oil so a 100% soy wax is a veggie wax.
  9. I like the scrub one. The other two are really busy but in different ways. That might just be me though. I like simple labels.
  10. I think she's making candles but her scent tester put the candle on a warmer instead of burning it. I've had customers tell me they do the same thing with my jars.
  11. Each FO will be different. You will have to test them all to determine what changes need to be made. I never found dye to make much difference unless you're putting in a lot but FO's are all over the place. My candles range between Eco 2 and Eco 10 in the same jar with different scents.
  12. I kind of agree with funkymonkey. People who are used to Facebook know that messages sometimes don't get through and that it can be unreliable as a communication tool. If I would have been the customer, I wouldn't have written you off so quickly and looked for another way to contact you.
  13. I don't make soap but I do buy it from fellow crafters when I am at a show. I can honestly say that although I think the round soaps are adorable, I would never buy them for myself. I like the rectangle soap for personal use. I might buy the cute round soaps for gifts, though.
  14. Trying to develop more spa scents so poured testers of: Peppermint & Eucalyptus Orange and Sage Green Tea and Lemongrass Lavender Moonlake Musk Rainwater
  15. Good idea. I'm just starting to play around with M&P and keep coming back to this thread as my "bible." I wish they'd make it a sticky.
  16. Not necessarily. Elevance makes more than just C3. Perhaps the C3 is USA sourced but other products are globally sourced.
  17. I use C3 and love it. I don't get any soot in the wax. Sometimes when testing if its overwicked, soot will end up on the wax like 001 said but not if its properly wicked.
  18. I do remember some of those clashes. That's too bad. I respected him a lot and I loved his dry sense of humor. More recently, we're missing some others who used to post a lot....Islandgirl, luminousboutique, kyme...those are a few off the top of my head but I know there's more.
  19. Yeah, where'd he go? You could always depend on him to inject some sanity when a thread got too insane.
  20. What brown said ^ Votives become little container candles when they are burned in a votive holder.
