  1. I'll add ... Banana Nut Bread Vanilla Lace Bayberry Scotch Pine Brandied Pear
  2. Darbla, you're right, I mix it 50/50 with Pumpkin Brulee from The Candle Source. I think maybe Vanilla Pumpkin would probably work well too; actually any sweet pumpkin would probably be good for mixing with it to smooth out that burnt note.
  3. I've tried both, but imho, the one from Elements is better. However, the one from Bert's is good. For quality, I pick Elements ... for price, I pick Bert's.
  4. September for me too ... it seems that when the kids go back to school, customers start buying fall and holiday scents.
  5. Evergreen Pine from ICS ... it's an old Snowtop oil; smells like a Christmas tree. Also Christmas Wreath from Willow Woods (www.2wwoods.com), an awesome pine scent.
  6. I would call Candlechem ... I know they sell the 4oz size, but you might be able to work something out with them.
  7. I got my samples today ... will be pouring them in the next couple of days, hopefully! Here are my first impressions, although, that doesn't mean much; the rubber meets the road once they get into my wax. Apple Harvest - great scent; not as hit-you-in-the-face like Macintosh; nice balance of apple, spice, and something else? Pumpkin Pie - I like this scent; definately not a heavy/full bodied pumpkin; maybe a little citrus to it? This is crazy, but I want to describe it as being lighter, like a pumpkin chiffon, not a thick/creamy pumpkin pie. Christmas Hearth - love the smell of this one; I detect citrus in this one too; I also pick up on the pine needle and there's definately a fireplace thing going on ... awesome oob Cedarwood Vanilla - the first note I pick up on is a true cedar, then comes the vanilla; it's a nice sweet vanilla; I think once it's in wax, the 2 distinct scents will blend nicely; very unique Hazelnut Coffee - a nice, smooth coffee blend, no bitter coffee note; it smells like a creamy hazelnut latte ... imho, much smoother than the one from BW
  8. I should be getting a sample of LS's Amaretto soon. I missed their sale, but ordered a few samples the other day. I need to add an almond type scent to my fall/holiday list ... hoping this will be the one. However, I really like the price of Almond Cake, it's somewhere around $10 per pound.
  9. Strawberry Buttercream is always a best seller for me in the spring/summer. I mix 50% Strawberry (Candle Science) and 50% Buttercream (Bluegrass).
  10. Thanks Buffy for your help ... I think I'm gonna order a sample. :smiley2:
  11. I haven't gotten any of my samples yet, but I'm already thinking about mixing Pumpkin Pie with Apple Harvest (or any of the apple scents) ... I love the smell of pumpkin/apple combos. It might also be good mixed with ... Banana Nut Bread Cinnamon Bun Gingerbread Pecan Pie Caramelized Pralines Creme Brulee Hazelnut Coffee Just brain storming ... guess I should wait until I sniff it. My order should come today!
  12. Has anyone tested ICS's Orange Vanilla Coffee? Looking for some opinions about cold and hot throw in soy and/or 6006. TIA
  13. Looking for reviews on Lone Star's Almond Cake, wondering if it's strong in soy and/or 6006. Thanks.
  14. ICS carries 2 Macintosh scents ... the best one from ICS would be the "Macintosh-ST". ST stands for Snowtop ... ICS bought Snowtop when it was up for sale ... ST oils are top shelf!
  15. Funny, everyone usually thinks "chocolate" when they hear the name Pumpkin Fudge (I did too, and so did my customers). However, not so when they hear Vanilla Fudge, Pistaschio Fudge, or Maple Pecan Fudge. Just sayin'!
  16. Autumn Bliss is the only thing that comes to mind right now.
  17. If you order the Caramel Cinnamon Latte from ICS, you might want to try the Pumpkin Spice Latte too ... it' really wonderful!
  18. Here's my .... imho, I would say that: CS's Hansel & Gretel's House is okay, but ICS's Gingerbread Cookies is excellent. CS's Strudel & Spice is also okay, but again, ICS's Cinnamon Buns is a winner. As for a straight coffee scent, I've used both Coffee Bean from ICS, and Fresh Coffee from CS ... both are great mixers and throw strong. ICS's Bear Claws and Frosted Vanilla Grahams did not work well for me. However, I loved the Caramel Cinnamon Latte. I use 6006 with 1 oz of fo per pound of wax.
  19. I'm getting my CS sample order today ... very excited! The only T&B I've used is the one from BCN; I think it's really good in 6006; it doesn't smell anything like the one from BW. Love the name Vanilla Twigs. Thanks for the idea.
  20. Candybee, not me, but it sounds interesting.
  21. From my experience, I find NG's fragrance oil to be hit or miss for me. I've tried them in soy, 50/50 and 6006 and have been disappointed many times. I know alot of people love NG, and I wish I was one of them. They have awesome scent descriptions, I buy my M&P soap from them, and they have awesome customer service. For me, their oils work better in soap.
  22. Using more than your wax can hold will cause it to seep out. Also, you can get alot of smoke and soot. I use zinc wicks and I find that if I use more than 1oz of fo per pound of wax, my candles smoke and I get soot on the jars. Guess I should add that I use 6006.
  23. I've never tried the butterfly chips either, but I did notice that Bluegrass is also selling them. I use the Reddig-glo chips from Candle Science too ... Candle Chem also has them, they have more colors than CS has.
