  1. When I mix, I start out testing a 50/50 ratio ... then I tweak it from there.
  2. I get a great hot throw with 6006 ... I use zinc wicks and 6% fo.
  3. To get a true Forest Green, I use 3 Forest Green chips (from CS) per pound of wax. My wax is 6006.
  4. I've used them before, they are hit or miss for me. That being said, their Snowy Pine is a best seller during the winter/Christmas holiday. Others that I've used and like are ... Cookies and Cream Caramel Apple Cinnamon Crunch Red Apple or Delicious Apple (I forget the name, but it was good) French Apricot I guess I should add that I used the 50/50 wax that they sell, but discovered that I like 6006 better.
  5. I use Christmas Bliss from Aroma Haven ... it's awesome in 6006 at 6%.
  6. Adding a little bit of vanilla normally gets rids of that fuel smell.
  7. I searched a couple of candle boards (this one included) and here's what I've found about twins for Gold Canyon scents ... (NG) Chrismas Cabin = Christmas Presence (GC) (NG) Country Christmas = Cozy Christmas (GC) (NG) Kama Sutra line of Satin Sheets = Cozy Cabin (GC) (TCS) Christmas Splendor = Cozy Christmas (GC) (Peaks) Sugar Cookie = Sugar Cookie (GC) (CC) Pillow Fight = Clean Sheets (GC) (MMS) Relaxation = Relaxation (GC) (MMS) Pumpkin Pie = Pumpkin Pie (GC) (MMS) Sensual = Sensual (GC) (MMS) Romance = Romantic (GC) (Alabaster) Mulled Cider = Mulled Cider (GC) The only one I can attest to is Alabaster's Mulled Cider; I use it myself. Hoping others have some information about GC dups and can add to the list.
  8. I wish I could help you ... I'm gonna do a little research and see what I can come up with.
  9. I agree, Pine and Bayberry smell totally different. However, I think the bayberry color chip would be fine as a color for pine.
  10. Here's a few that come to mind ... Apple + Pine = Apples and Evergreen (you could mix a bit of cinnamon in too) Vanilla + Pine + Peppermint = Snowy Pine/Santa's Whiskers Cinnamon + Pine = another popular scent for the holidays Apple Harvest + Bayberry = a new mix for me this season, it's selling great. This Old House (Tenn. Candle Supply) + Christmas Tree (Berts) = Home for Christmas (another new mix this season)
  11. Sorry, I've not tried it. Maybe others have and will share.
  12. If you're looking for an awesome pumpkin scent, something a little different, Pumpkin Gingerbread is it! Excellent scent; great cold and hot throw in 6006. I ordered a sample of it while ordering Honey Gingerbread, now I wish I ordered a bigger bottle!
  13. In my opinion, for great bakery scents, check out www.kycandlewaxsupply.com. They work awesome for me. Off the top of my head, I use ... Homemade Apple Pie Birthday Cake (I rename this Frosted Cookies - great seller) Banana Nut Bread Caramel Pecan Coconut Cream Pie Hot Chocolate Cherry Slush Icy Peppermint Lemon Pound Cake Orange Chiffon Cake Pineapple Supreme Toasted Marshmallow Creme Brulee Key Lime Vanilla Lime Zucchini Bread Cinna-Vanilla Apple Jack & Peel There's more; if you do a search, you'll find tons of info.
  14. I like both suppliers ... both have quality oils and quality customer service as well. However, I usually buy from Candle Science because they are closer to me and the shipping is faster and costs less. Which supplier are you closer to?
  15. I did a bit of checking around ... I did find one at www.candlemakersstore.com. I've never tested it, so I can't give you a review. Maybe other will be able to help. I did order Country Spice from them, and I'm very pleased. Excellent customer service.
  16. Check out Elements, they carry the one from FOH. In my opinion, it's awesome.
  17. For Vanilla Bean Noel, I just call it Vanilla Bean ... it's a good seller. Christmas Splendor ... red or green Dicken's Christmas Cozy Christmas Home for Christmas Christimas Home This Old House ... I make mine a chestnut color Country Home Kitchen Cupboard Country Cupboard Corner Country Store (Farmhouse Pantry is great!) Cozy Home ... a golden brown color Warm Applesauce Baked Apples Cinnamon Spiced Apples Apple Dumplin' Apple Brown Betty Apple Pan Dowdy Amish Apple
  18. Cold throw for Blue Spruce is better now. It's not as strong as Mistletoe, more subtle, but not weak. Cold throw is very important to me, because that's what usually makes my customers buy candles. Now to test burn.
  19. I was just playing around with some oils and I mixed Coconut and Pineapple Ginger ... very nice.
  20. Mabel's Minit Cookies is from Aroma Haven. I like the mint cookie scent from www.mecandlesupply.com ... I've renamed it Sweet Snow. I've also mixed Jack Frost or Peppermint with vanilla to make Sweet Snow.
  21. Coconut Cream Pie and Caramelized Praline ... I got the recipe from KY's website.
  22. I've been pouring in my house for years ... never a problem. I have animals too, and a ton of kids that are always around ... no negative issues with anyone. I guess every situation is different.
  23. Not a problem at my house ... no one's ever complained. I usually get compliments that my house smells nice.
