Just learning how to make candles. I prefer using soy. Hopefully I'll eventually be able to sell them once I've tested, tested, tested!!

  1. Yikes is right!!! No thanks. I've been using the one from AH/RE that is the Pier 1 type and it's very popular and strong in my para-soy tarts. Never tried the KY one so I don't know how it compares.
  2. ksranch..that sounds wonderful...any other favorites from JS?
  3. I use the KY Para-Soy and the only way I have found to get rid of the ripples is to add about 15-20% container soy...I use 444. I tried pouring cooler but it did not help. Some have found it did but I did not get the same results. Unless it really bothers you, I don't think it really matters to the customer. People seem to be scarfing up the BH&G clamshell tarts from Wal-Mart and if you look at them, they are pretty rough looking.
  4. Everything is so cute..love them!!! The tart warmers..are they electric and if so what wattage of bulb? (I think I see a plug/cord). What size tart do you think will fit in the bowl...1 ounce? What talent!!!
  5. Peppermint Patty, Banana Cream Pie, Lemon Poppyseed, Mrs. Claus Cookies, Nappa Valley Harvest, Pink Sugar (I second that one) are a few that I use..I only do tarts (para-soy).
  6. I've ordered it in the past from KY and this year from AH..so far no problems or complaints. I only use it it tarts though (para-soy) so don't know if that makes any difference.
  7. I tried it a couple of times but the fo's I tried thinned and clouded the base. Didn't think I added too much but who knows. Give it a shot..you might like it.
  8. Try mixing it with a fruit like Strawberry or Cherry (not a bakery one). I mix it with a plain strawberry and it's good. I only make tarts though so don't know about candles. I can't sell it by itself though either.
  9. I haven't found one but I did try the one from AH/RE I think it was the one KY used to carry....I personally did not like it...had no familar Apple Butter notes IMO. I think it's called Apple Clove Butter...was not impressed.
  10. Another Christmas Past lover here!! 11-1 is not that far off if you can wait.
  11. I recently saw at my local Wal-Mart that they had warmers by Scentsationals (hope I'm not mistaken on the name but I believe that was it) They also of course had the Better Homes & Garden ones too.
  12. If you don't mind sharing...I'd like to know too but certainly understand "trade" secrets..
