  1. Absolutely check out Moonworks, there's so many to choose from ... Enchanted Spice, Merlin's Forest, Spirit of Avalon, Ancient Incense, etc. Aroma Haven also has a few good ones that come to mind ... Dreamcatcher, Enchanted Forest, Moonshadow, Celtic Moonspice.
  2. If you can't find it there, try www.midwestmolds.com, Corey does special orders.
  3. candlemama, I totally agree! I tested it in 6006 at 1 oz. per pound, and I got an excellent cold and hot throw. To me, it smells like Candle Science's discontinued Vanilla Frosting.
  4. I read it the same as Judy too ... that it wasn't a new scent per se, but a new bottle of the same scent (Chestnuts & Brown Sugar) that she has always used.
  5. I mix 50/50 Sweet & Creamy with Creme Brulee to get Candy Corn ... both are from KY (I got this mix off of their website ... sells great for me.)
  6. Thank you mzpickles. :smiley2:
  7. I like the NG's Pumpkin Apple Butter too, but I just couldn't get a good throw in my wax ... I hate it when that happens! Anyway, that's why I blend my own ... I love the scent of spice, pumpkin and apple; it screams Fall! As for the q-tip test, I actually like putting the q-tip in a jar better ... I usually use a small baby food jar. I give it a couple of hours or so, I don't think it really matters.
  8. mzpickles ... can you post their blog address? I can't find it on their website ... TIA.
  9. For Apple Pumpkin Butter, I mix 50/50 Pumpkin Pie Filling (ICS) and Apple Cinnamon (Berts) ... I got this mix from a post by carolk. However, you can mix any apple and pumpkin that you have. I think mixing a spicy pumpkin with a mellow type of apple scent such as mulled cider (more apple than spice - Alabaster has a good one) or an apple pie (more buttery pastry than spice - BG has a good one) makes an excellent combo. I would suggest just taking what you have and doing a scent test ... take a q-tip, dip one end in a pumpkin scent, dip the other end in an apple scent, and then put the q-tip in a ziplock bag, give the scents some time to blend together, then take a sniff.
  10. The best Buttercream I've tested is from Bluegrass, second would be the one from Daystar. Another great frosting scent is Birthday Cake from KY ... I rename it Frosted Vanilla Cupcake.
  11. I've been using Red Hot Cinnamon and Cinnamon Stick, both from Candle Science ... I use them as mixers. Burnin' Love Cinnamon from Bluegrass is another good one. I've read some great things about Red Hot Cinnamon from BCN, I've been meaning to test that one.
  12. CBE, you mentioned AH's Vanilla Wafer, I just want to say that I love that scent ... strong in soy and 6006. By the way, you guys rock!
  13. Snowy Pine from Farmhouse Winter Blast from Wildfire Creations
  14. It's really Maple Nut Crunch from Bluegrass ... another awesome scent that I recently discovered is Vanilla Maple Pecan from Lonestar; I love both of them.
  15. I'm definately crazy when it comes to mixing scents! Love the idea of mixing Creme Brulee with Cinnamon!
  16. Great topic ... I love mixing scents. These oils are from KY ... 50/50 Pumpkin Pie/Orange Chiffon Cake = Orange Pumpkin Pumpkin Pie/Apple Jack = Harvest Pumpkin Pie/Creme Brulee = Creamy Pumpkin Brulee Hot Chocolate/Caramel Pecan = Chocolate Pecan Cluster Cinnamon Toast/Caramel Pecan = CinnaBun Creme Brulee/Roasted Coffee = Creme Brulee Cafe Caramel Pecan/Coconut Cream Pie = Caramel Coconut Chew Caramel Pecan/Sweet&Creamy = Butter Pecan Banana Cream/Creme Brulee = Banana Pudding Caramel Pecan/Red Hot Cinnamon = Candy Coated Pecans Birthday Cake/Apple Pie = French Apple Pie Creme Bulee/Sweet&Creamy = Candy Corn Red Hot Cinnamon/Peppermint = HoHoHo 2 parts Red Hot Cinnamon + Caramel Pecan + 1 part Red Apple = Candy Apple Crunch 3 parts Creme Brulee + 1 part Peppermint = Buttermint Equal parts Apple Pie/MacApple/Red Hot Cinnamon = Spiced Apple 3 parts Mandarin Spice + 1 part Cranberry = Mandarin Cranberry A few mixes from Candlescience ... 3 parts Cinnamon Bun + 1 part Macintosh 50/50 Bayberry/Cinnamon Stick or Red Hot Cinnamon 50/50 Vanilla Lace + Lemon Verbena Equal parts Macintosh/Brandied Pear/Cinnamon Stick or Red Hot Cinnamon 50/50 Cranberry Marmalade/Cinnamon Stick or Red Hot Cinnamon Some mixes from BCN ... 1 part Red Hot Cinnamon + 3 parts Warm Vanilla Sugar = Cinnamon Sugar 50/50 Macintash + Harvest = Apple Harvest 50/50 Hot Apple Pie + Gingerbread = Gingerbread Applesauce 50/50 Mistletoe + Pink Grapefruit or Vanilla Grapefruit = Christmas Kiss Okay, I'll stop for now.
  17. It's hard for me to have less than 15 scents; I keep trying to narrow my scents down to 12 for the holidays. However, it would seem to me, if you have a retail store, you might want more scents than less, since you have a store to fill up. Some unique scents and best sellers are ... Winter Blast Fireside Inn Spiced Cranberry 50/50 Red Hot Cinnamon & Warm Vanilla Sugar (I got this idea from BCN) All from www.wildfire-creations.com.
  18. Usually for fall, I carry 3 pumpkin scents, 3 apple scents, then I mix apple & pumpkin together for Apple Pumpkin Butter. I also carry 2 cranberry scents; one spiced and one plain. I throw in a couple of seasonal scents, a mint type scent, something with chocolate, coffee, maple, and a vanilla scent. Here's a typical fall scent list for me ... Pumpkin Spice Creamy Pumpkin Brulee Orange Pumpkin Homemade Apple Pie Mulled Cider Caramel Apple Apple Pumpkin Butter Spiced Cranberry Cranberry Marmalade Autumn Lodge Harvest Frosted Vanilla Cookies/Buttercream Spiced Latte Mint Chocolate Chip Maple Pecan Crunch I would definately sell tart warmers, and bring your best sellers. Good luck!
  19. Pink Carnation from Cajun Candles is really strong ... I don't remember it having any spice to it ... just a true carnation imho.
  20. 50/50 Pumpkin Souffle (CS) & Pumpkin Brulee (The Candle Source) 50/50 Pumpkin Pie (KY) & Creme Brulee (KY)
  21. That's happened to me a couple of times in the last month or so ... finally, I left a lengthy email asking about scent descriptions too. I got a response email the next day, asking me to call back during office hours; I guess they just assumed that I hadn't called during office hours. So, I called back the same day, and again, no answer. I didn't leave a voice mail this time. So I'm gonna try one more time. I'm interested in their Antique Cider, Apple Creek, Country Spice, Fir Clove and Cranberry Relish. Any input of these scents would be greatly appreciated. TIA.
