  1. I only use rapeseed wax I want to overdip a pillar candle to masquer the lines of the decal Parden my English ☺️
  2. Hi there and thank you. My candles are vegan so no beeswax here Rapeseed is more difficult to work with than soy. I work with the matter for years now and still learning 😉 Yes, the decals are flamable but with a good wick the decal will melt away.
  3. Hi and thanks for your reply! Yes I have because when I just melted the wax for dipping it was pretty high. Allong the way the temp went down but results were pretty much the same. The wax sets só quickly on the candles. 😟 At what temp they normally are dipping candles? I am afraid that when the temp gets too high the dipping wax will be destroyed?
  4. Hello everybody I have a question and maybe you can help. I am using waterslide decals and I want to dip the candle in the wax so you do not see the lines were the decal ends. I have seen it somewhere and was just perfect but... I can't seem to get the service smooth. You can see drippes. I have tried to dip it quickly and very slow but the results were the same. Anyone another tip for me? Thx in advance 🙂
  5. I Have had the very same experience. With the same wax from the same company. It does nót work. I had ordered a 25 kilo bag they did not want to take it back. This wax is not suitable for making candles.
  6. I now use the CB 135 and have this Christmas scent wich give a nice hotthrow I must say. I also bought the Ecosoya CB-XceL witch is more frostresisting and adheres better to the glass. The last benefit is why I bought the wax. The CB 135 sometimes pulls away from glasses.
  7. Jena, I have asked several question to their too but also no answer and this is a while ago. I think its not so custumerfriendly. I have heard from other people aswell. Other website owners reply mostly within a day. I think that they think they sell it anyway?
  8. You mean using Xcell? I have gotten some in a bag from a forumfriend in UK. I self use CB 135. To be honest I havent seen any difference. They work both the same for me. Price were I buy from is equal. This woman has also sent me a candle using this Excell and again it wasnt difference in appearence then the 135. But I live in a pretty "cold" country maybe thats why we dont have problems with them?
  9. Hi Steve, Thanks for helping me out here. Your from the Netherlands or your parents? I think you mean "vervormen"" and that could be correct! German I understand as well. So wenn the wick mushrooms it will turn up the heat. Could that be right? That is what I see. I see it as a plus also allthough I dont like the sight of it though!! Dont know what else could be done to avoid it. Go a wick up in size? Like I said I have tried different wicks and I think that i have found a wick that burns to the sides and leave just a bitt of hang up is great allready after testing for 9 months. But I'm here to learn so if you or someone else can teach me more about candlemaking that would be greatly apreciated!!!! Anita
  10. Stella, do you really think there is a wick that doesnt mushroom? I have tried so many with and without scents and colour but they all mushroom more or less. I'm using the same soy as CandleMakinCutiePie Sorry but what does skew mean( I'm Dutch)
  11. Hi everyone! I have this question.... I have been testing soywax now for quit some time now but cant get a nice flame. The meltpool isnt an issue but the flame is not steady and easy allthough I have little musroom and only smoke wenn the wicks gets to long. I use RRD wicks and they seem to be good. I have tested many types of wicks. My question is Could the people who are testing right now sent in a tape/video of how the candle should burn in a jar? Then I can see the difference to my candles. If its possible then sent a video wenn the candle is burning half way down. ( In the beginning my candle burns perfetc no matter what type of jar I use) It doensnt have to be a long tape? Also other kinds of wax would be welcome!! Hope many will respond!! ( I hope you can understand what I mean:rolleyes2) Thanks Anita
  12. Ho everyone! Nice threat! Learn so much! I have this question.... I have been testing soywax now for quit some time now but cant get a nice flame. The meltpool isnt an issue but the flame is not steady and easy allthough I have little musrooms and only smoke wenn the wicks gets to long. My question is Could the people who are testing right now sent in a tape of how the candle should burn in a jar? Then I can see the difference to my candles. It doensnt have to be a long tape? ( Or should I make another threat with this question?):rolleyes2 THANKS!! Anita
  13. Hi, I dont think you will ruin the wick? I don't have a heatgun but wenn I want to smoothen a top then I use my hairdryer. I never ruined the wicks wenn heaten it carefuly? I think I would try that Why did you use more dye now? Did you stire it long enought in the pot? Sorry for my English hahaha.:rolleyes2 Anita
