  1. Bamboo & Basil, Tea Leaf & Grapefruit, and Blue Vanilla are not skin safe. I don't know about the lavender & lemongrass.
  2. Miss Mary, I would change your sentence: "Essential oils are available and a bit more costly, but unless they are pure, they also contain synthetic chemicals." All EOs & FOs are made of "chemicals." The "organic" crowd is interested in using biologically made chemicals, not man-made (synthetic) chemicals.
  3. Oh dear, you are selling candles and you don't know how much FO your wax holds??? I'm with Ducky on this one...
  4. Don't waste your money. Not only are they weak, but most of the ones I tried have a funky chemical smell to them.
  5. They had a $1 sale in June 2007 too. I got a bunch then. I have also purchased some from TCS off the classies. Good stuff! I hope they have another sale soon, I have a big list to try out. As a hobbyist, these sales are perfect for me.
  6. I made mine a reddish purple, like mulberry (more red than purple).
  7. I just got some of this wax in... your candles look very cool and have inspired me to try it out!
  8. Does anyone know who manufactures aroma beads?
  9. There is another thread about this in the candle forum. I went to their site on Friday and it has been totally revamped. However, there were some problems. Hopefully they are just working on the new site.
  10. I went to their site last Friday and it had been completely revamped. It was very slow and a couple things were not working properly (my saved cart had all random things in it). Hopefully they are just working on getting the new site up and running correctly! BTW, the new site looked nice.
  11. Hey Trappeur, Did you know that the Natural Artisan is no longer selling FO? They just announced this about 10 days ago. Too bad, I really liked a few from them. They are currently selling off what is left of their inventory.
  12. Yup, my actual shipping charge was $3 more than the estimated charge. However, I emailed them and the free shipping over $99 (under 30# in one box) still applies.
  13. Just saw that someone else posted the same thing in the business section.
  14. Went to cierracandles.com yesterday and there is a note saying they are closing at the end of the month. They are selling everything at 30% off...
  15. I cannot resist any longer... must go buy sampler pack.
  16. I use LX12 too, or zinc (1 oz FO/lb).
  17. Day Star has a Mimi's Kitchen and ICS has a Nana's kitchen.
  18. Vermont Breakfast: maple syrup New Hampshire: lilacs (purple lilac is the state flower) Massachusetts: tea scent named Boston Tea Party Maine Woods: pine (state tree Connecticut Spice: anything with nutmeg That covers my neck of the woods!
  19. The "sunken look" looks amateurish to me, but to each his/her own...
  20. The ICS one is great, one of my favs.
  21. It was called "vanilla bean and boysenberry", and it is retired (look on the Close out oils list).
  22. So CareBear, your work must generate massive amounts of oil waste; do you know how it is disposed of? I work in a chemistry department (university) but I am a physical chemist, so the waste I generate is minimal and generally water soluble. I know the organic chemists on the other side of the building are always synthesizing stinky hydrophobic stuff, and I wonder what happens to all the waste. I guess I am scared to ask the Environmental Heath and Safety guys. I once worked at a research institute in Boston and the EH&S chief's motto was: The solution to polution is dilution. Translation: everything was dumped in the River Charles (love that dirty water!).
