  1. Aroma Haven has a nice one too.
  2. green tea from Peak and homegrown watercress from Natural Artisan.
  3. tart molds or tins, or brioche molds, they are usually in the bakery section near the pie plates.
  4. I buy mine at a kitchen supply store. The place I go to has several different shapes, like diamonds, hearts, and squares, etc. I get a pack of 24 for $7, or 48 for $10. The store is called "Kitchen & Co." but I am not sure if it is a chain or just local. Any good kitchen store should have them though. Try a local restaurant supply company (probably an even better price).
  5. LOVE that yellow! Is it all the same dye, just varying concentration, or more that one dye? Really nice!
  6. I use everything - chips, blocks, flakes, and chips - it just depends on what color I want. I am not super talented with the color wheel, so I tend not to mix. One of my goals this year is to conquer my "fear of the wheel" and learn how to mix the liquid to make any color I want.
  7. Shopping for new FOs always helps! Just got a box from the Scent Works in today! And a big one coming from Peak soon!
  8. I had the entire week off from Christmas to New Years. I planned to make zillions of candles, but I didn't even make one. I never got the inspiration. I don't know, sometimes I just don't feel like making candles, and other times, every flat surface in my house is littered with candle equipment. I just go with the flow. I know the urge will come back sooner or later.
  9. Not to mention that it is a waste of energy and good drinking water just to flush something down the drain when it should be tossed in the trash
  10. Ha! You must be right, Luci, cause that's a major problem just waiting to happen.
  11. I just placed an order with Peak with Spring/summer scents in mind: freesia fresh linen juniper breeze lilac spring rain storm watch strawberry kiwi tall grass tropical tuberose Also got a bunch of sample sizes: cucumber canteloupe, cucumber melon, botanical orchard, cocomilk, mango papaya... I forgot the rest already!
  12. Thanks wildangel. Is it more canteloupe than cucumber? Maybe I should just get a sample of each...
  13. The pictures on the labels are really nice, but I agree with NattyCat, all that text might look better on the back.
  14. I am trying to decide which of these to order. I would prefer more cucumber than melon. Thanks.
  15. Their Red Tea is awesome! One of my all-time favs. I have not used KY's version so I can't compare the two. Also RE's vanilla bean is a great straight vanilla, no cakey or buttery notes to me. I haven't tried the others.
  16. Most of the ones that I got say they are not safe for bath and body products. Only 4 of the 30 or so that I got are soap safe. I have not had a chance to play with these yet. I put blackberry & grapefruit in wax, and that did well, and I made some aroma beads with the black ginger and bamboo (love this one). Other than that, I haven't done anything yet! It is on my mega to-do list.
  17. They must soak the wick in chemicals, or it is in the wax? Magnesium Sulphate (Epson Salts) for WHITE flames Lithium Chloride or Potassium Permanganate for PURPLE flames Barium Nitrate for BLUE flames Sodium Chloride (table salt) for YELLOW flames Baronsalts (Borax) for YELLOW-GREEN flames Copper sulphate (blue vitrol/Bluestone) for BLUE-GREEN flames Copper Chloride or boric acid for GREEN Flames Calcium Chloride (Bleaching powder) for ORANGE Flames Strontium chloride for RED flames
  18. Ask the ebay seller where she gets it, then maybe you can get it directly.
  19. I have a log and a 9-bar and I love them. They are just the right size for the 2-pound batches I make. Putting them back together was hard, but it has gotten a bit easier each time.
  20. I checked out SKS, and they do have a large selection of the amber PET, but not the same ones that Peak uses. Thanks though. I guess I am being picky...
  21. I store FOs in clear PETE only because I can't afford enough amber glass. I have been looking for the amber PETE bottles that Peak uses. I found them at Freund Containers, but I would have to buy a large amount to avoid a small order fee. Anybody know another place that sells those amber PETE bottles?
  22. "she is offering to give me two free samples with my next purchase" Problem solved! Candle Science rocks!
