  1. "That said, could you go with PKO Flakes? I know both Palm oil and PKO Flakes bring totally different things to a recipe but it will add hardness to the bar as well." If someone wants to avoid using Palm oil because of environmental issues, then PKO is not a good substitute since it comes from the same plant. Thanks for the link, that was a very interesting piece.
  2. They have a note up saying they are "temporarily unavailable to new customers" due to weather, whatever that means. Anybody here tried their dyes?
  3. Candle Cacoon has some seamless aluminum, flat top, 2.5 inch diameter by 3.5 inch height molds. They are on the thin side though (dent easily).
  4. It says that right on the front page of Peak's website. They "only" send 1 oz??? How many did you want?
  5. Umm, insects are animals, as are marsupials, mammals and amphibians (or were you being sarcastic? Sometimes it is hard to tell).
  6. Anybody systematically compared the specific gravities of FOs that need to be wicked up versus FOs that do not? Seems to me that the FOs with higher specific gravity (more dense) would need a larger wick.
  7. Peak and CandleScience send free 1 ouncers...
  8. I've used this from Flicker's and AH in 4625; LOVE it...
  9. I had the same experience with the lychee from JS. I agree with ah-soy, the fig lychee from NG is great! Very strong throw.
  10. I am curious about the answers to CareBear's questions. How did your doctors genetically link petroleum and petroleum by-products to ringing in your ears? And how did they eliminate other possible causes?
  11. Oh no, not offended at all! I hope you get what you are looking for. I learned something about lavender too from this thread. When you get your order, please let me know what you think. Everyone's nose is different and maybe you will like the #2 over the #1.
  12. I completely agree with Melany. Their FOs are incredible. They are pricey, but worth it.
  13. Please let me know what you think when you get your order in. I kind of want to know if my assessment was on target, or if I am way off.
  14. To me, it doesn't sound like I said anything different from what he said. The #1 looks nicer. It is only buds that are a lovely color. It smells like lavender. If the buds are visible in the final product, I would go with #1. The #2 is more faded in color, kind of has a more yellow-ish tint to it. It has stems and leaves in it, not a lot, just a noticable difference from #1. The #2 has a richer scent, not more lavender-y, but just a deeper scent of herb. If your sachets are muslin so you can't see the buds, then #2 is fine. I hope they don't think I was slamming the #2, it is quite nice. I was just trying to point out the differences between the two. I have purchased from SF Herb/Atlantic Spice for 15 years, and have always been satisfied with their quality, service, and price (great prices!).
  15. I recently purchased both #1 and #2 lavender buds from them. The #1 looks a lot better, has only tight, fragrant buds, while the #2 has buds, leaves and stems. The #1 smells like lavender, while the #2 has a touch of woody smell added. If the buds will be visible in the final prduct, then I would go with #1. HTH
  16. Last year they had their 99 cent sample sales in the first week of March and the first week of August.
  17. I have less self control! I placed TWO Peak orders already this year. The first one had two 10 pack samplers, and 9 four ounce FOs, the second order had one 10 pack sampler and 5 four ounce FOs. Since finding this forum my ordering has increased 10X. I wonder if there is a connection...
  18. It's the minimum. They will send you a shipping invoice later with the actual shipping.
  19. Did that work, Scented? I have placed several orders with them, and had only one problem. However, it was ordered during their end of the year sale, and they clearly warned that oils might get sold out.
