Doh, now I feel like a dork....actually you are right. Those are 6oz net weight. Teach me to read things when I'm at work and not really paying attention lol. Thanks for catching that! I'll have to fix that when I get home. I guess I never changed it on the website when I filled it in with all the info lol.
I fill them almost brimming the top. Just enough room for the wick not to be smashed against the lid. They aren't that full in the pic though, those are some I had from before I knew that the weight listed needed to be net weight heh.
Most of it is finished, just have a few pics to switch out ad fill in the contact/about us page. Please feel free to share any thoughts... http://www.sunlightexpressions.com
I know my first year making candles I spent well over 2k in supplies. I have put myself on a leash now....a long one but still restrained lol. Now I let myself spend about $50 a month from my day job and 1/3 of my candle sales on supplies. And here I thought I was the only one that went nuts starting out...Maybe we should start a chandlers anonymous after all lol. Dem
I disagree that what the buyer did was deceitful....A lot of smokers don't even think about the fact that something in their home would smell like smoke to a non smokers....It is entirely possible that she had no idea that the molds held the smell....As a smoker I can say that I can't smell smoke on most things. I would think clothes, curtains, and other cloth items would retain the smell but I never would have thought a candle mold would. Just my 2 cents
Did I read this right? She's allergic to parabens and she wants the item replaced with a shower gel that contains parabens? If she's allergic to it why would she want more?
I have to agree. I'm on a different schedule than everyone else in my house so I'm on the computer most when everyone is sleeping. I hate when I forget to mute the computer and I got to a website that has music and such. Another option is having it where there is a button on the site that allows the user to turn the music on if they want to hear it. HTH
I just signed up with wahmshoppes myself about a week ago...so far it all seems to be going good(just haven't had the time to get it all up and running.) The tutorials and support forums seem to have a wealth of helpful people/information.
When wax cools it shrinks creating that "dip" in the candle top. Poking relief holes keeps the candle from forming air pockets inside. I usually poke 4 holes around the wick when the wax starts to set. I don't use the wax you are using so I'm not familiar with it, but most waxes you'll have to do a second pour after it cools( called a repour). Check out the post at the top of this forum called Helpful Links for Newbies. It has a lot of useful info Welcome to the addiction of candlemaking Also here is a link with basic candlemaking instructions: http://www.candletech.com/basicinstructions.htm ETA forgot the link lol...not awake yet this morning
I use Art Explosion Publisher Pro, it was about $50 at Walmart. I love it. It has tons of templates and is extremely easy to use if you start from scratch. I use it for brochures, labels, hang tags, business cards...just about everything HTH
as for which would sell better it depends on your target market really...I make both ornies, the beads inside an organza bag, and soon the blanks. Each for a different market. HTH
