I was wondering if anyone has bought ng mrs claus cookie lately. i opened a new bottle of fo and went to work. When i added the fo to my wax there was this awful smell i cant even explain i said to my husband how would you explain that smell he said i dont even know. Maybe like a chemical smell???? I have had some returns on this scent. I am using the same batch of wax the same way as the previous bottle. With the previous bottle it was wonderful. I emailed ng today to see what i could find out this is the only scent doing this and i poured a few different scents. Any one know what would be going on. Or do you think it was just this batch.

Thanks, i guess it is a stupid ? I thought maybe there would be someone that does both or has done both and could help. i do here how it is hard to get a smooth top on here. I am not really worried about the clean burning part. i am more concerned with the scent throw. I have been trying different suppliers for my fo's. I justed wondered if i should attempt the soy.

Ok you soy users i need some help from you. I use j50 right now i have tried joy wax, before i go buying and testing 100% soy i wanted to know the good things about soy. I know they say it burns cleaner. I was wondering about scent throw is it about the same as regular parrafin or different? I know it would depend on which soy i used but i would just like an idea of what you think. just compared to what you use. Yes i did do a search on here and found nothing on this. I am just unsure if i want to get into using soy but the customers keep mentioning it. thanks,

Welcome, what they told me was test test and test some more but your probably looking for somewhere to start. I started with Joy wax from NG (there is a page on here with abbr.) then i moved to j50 i use bcn for a lot of my scents jars lids etc. NG also has a lot of nice scents. I use zinc wicks. not sure what else to let you know. But welcome and happy testing.

i also use j50 i thought when i read instructions for that wax it was 160 then pour. I heat to 180. I will try to add it a little hotter. Makes scents. Thank you

yes they were vanilla and snicker doodle. can i do something to fix it i am using 1.5 oz. and they are not a strong scent so i need that much.

I use igi 4794 it works well for me. I put like a table spoon of crisco to help with scent throw.

I have had a few candles it seems like the scent lays on the bottom you can see like an oil. Is it to much fo or i am not stirring enough?

I have seen where they sell bottles of scent to spray on rose hips and things. i was wondering if what they were using was the same fo we put in candles.

I have ordered Mrs claus cookies from ng i love it and so does everyone else. Ng has that when its not chrismas people call it vanilla spice. But i need to order my wax from bcn and just to order 1 scent from ng you know how the shipping thing goes it will cost as much as i pay for the scent. bcn has a vanilla spice i was wondering if anyone has ever tried them both and how they compare.

I use joy wax i following ng's instructions with heating it to 200 cool to 175 add color and fo and pour at 160-165. I do that then when it cools it is cracked around the wick i emailed them they told me to add crisco and i did it made no difference. any one had this problem or know what i could be doing to cause this. I have to use the heat gun to the top which takes extra time my last batch didnt do this. Not sure what i would be doing different. any suggestions? PS Merry Christmas:cheesy2:

This is probably a dumb question but i was wondering. I go to a supplier that has scents oils you spray on rosehips. What i was wondering could these be used for candles or are they a different oil? They smell so good if i could use these it would save me alot on shipping so i thought i would ask to see if anyone out there would know.

Anyone know where i could find a good carmelized praline. I smelled on at a little craft store i went to the other day it smelled so good i could of ate it.

Thank you for the advice but i did try those i always try to make 2 one for me and one for someone else to get there opinion. Must be the wick next time i order i will try those 51 zinc wicks recommended. thanks so much for the help it is greatly appriciated.:highfive:
