  1. I had two change the due date on me. Both of them I ended up paying twice in one month (it was like a week and a half apart). It's crazy that they can pretty much do what they want.
  2. Just got back into the swing of things myself and had the same problem with 4630 with it setting with the wavy top. Thought maybe I missed something as I hadn't made candles in about a year and had just received a new batch.
  3. Don't know if this helps ya out or not but I make my chunks unscented. I'll make a pound at a time in whatever color. Then I can use them for several different candles and not worry about what the scent is. HTH.
  4. Tasha, I'm sorry if you felt that they were being rude and that no one has answered your question...but the fact is they can't answer either of those questions without knowing what type of wax you are using, what fragrance oil you are using, and the type of jars you are using. All those things factor into which wick size you should use to optimize your burn quality as well as burn time. Some wicks are used for heavier fragrances, while they would burn too hot for lighter ones. As for the business side, we do get a lot of people who come to the board who haven't even poured their first candle. They don't realize that it is dangerous to sell candles they haven't tested. A lot of them think that you just put a wick in come wax and viola you have a safe candle. That is why the others were pointing out how important testing is. Not that they were trying to be mean, or rude. They just want to help you have a sucessful business. I hope you continue to want to better your candles, and no there are no stupid questions. If you don't ask you won't know. Hope that helps a little. Deme
  5. I know this isn't quite the size you were looking for but all I could find: http://www.firstimpressionsmolds.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=2428 HTH Deme
  6. I was told on another site that yes if going to a residential delivery you can still get the hundred weight discount, however UPS charges a fee to deliver to a residential which basically cancels the discount out. Not sure how true it is though....
  7. One thing I just found to work today is setting them where they can get quite warm. It's in the 90s here and I made 10 pounds (1 pound in each scent) of beads last night. By this morning all but 2 were ready to use. Those last 2 were still like I just mixed them so I set them on my front door step where they could get warm from the sun... Within 3 hours they were completely done. I only went out and shook them 2 times while I was busy making other things. Try it, it might help. If you can't set them outside safely maybe on a windowsill facing the sun or in a barely warm oven. HTH
  8. There are quite a few threads on here about scented salt rock. Here is one with some recipes for it: http://www.candletech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=49318 HTH
  9. Those would be really cute on a keychain
  10. I can definitely say that I know how you feel. I too work full time, plus go to school, plus try to run my business. Quite a few times in the last year I've thought to myself "what in the world were you thinking?" But things are starting to look up and I'm sure they will for you too It just takes time and patience. People won't recognize your products overnight, but as long as they are good(and I'm sure they are) then it will happen Good luck!
  11. I just wanted to thank everyone You all brought up a lot of good points, some I hadn't thought of before Thanks again.
  12. I was contacted by a local high school and asked to sponsor their football team. I haven't done anything like this before so not sure if the price is normal/fair. So I thought I'd ask for your input. They want me to sponsor them for $350, and with that comes an announcement during all football games as well as an ad on all the concession stand drinks for my business, as well as a possible in for fundraisers. Does this sound like the right price? It's a good chunk of change for me right now but may pay off with the advertising, let alone doing something good for the High School... TIA for any input Deme
  13. I get them from several places online....such as cookiecutters.com. I also grabbed some of them from stores when I see them do a search on here or google metal cookie cutters and you'll find tons of different shapes Thanks for the compliments btw
  14. I don't think they are ugly at all...It all depends on the rest of the decor. Good job on them
