  1. I use them on an electric warmer to fill the room with scent. I'm not home much right now, so not sure exactly how long they last on a warmer as I change scents too often lol. If it were on all day I think they wouldn't last as long though. But the sachets in a car last me anywhere from 3-6 weeks before I need to change them. HTH
  2. Yes. Actually it's called Solar Salt I believe. I get it from Lowe's or Home Depot, as it's used for water softening. But works great for this too
  3. Sorry wasn't able to get on the forums yesterday so missed your question. I'm at work so can't just upload the pic, so here is a link to a pic of my scented slat rock: http://www.sunlightexpressions.com/fpdb/images/Salt_Rocks.jpg and here is one with them in sachets: http://www.sunlightexpressions.com/fpdb/images/Sachets.jpg Hope that works... I scent and color them, then heat them up with my heat gun while dabbing them with a paper towl to make sure they are dry, them put them in a canning jar until ready to bag them. My 1 oz sachet I make lasts anywhere from 3-6 weeks in my car, but I smoke in it so not sure if that takes some of the life out of it or not. HTH
  4. The salt rock stuff I use is from lowes, it's a water softener. I get 40lb bags of it for only a couple of dollars. I hadn't heard of the other recipe....hehe now I'm gonna have to give it a try
  5. I make them with salt rock and FO. I add 1g of FO to 1 lb of salt rock and let dry. I sell them in 1/2lb to 1 lb bags or in sachet bags as an air freshener. They last longer than the aroma beads and uses less FO.
  6. When I first started out I bought in medium amounts, if that makes sense. I didn't buy 120lbs of each wax, but did do the 60lb cases, med. size bottles of FO, etc. That way my prices were still pretty low, and I only had enough of the supplies that if I didn't sell enough I could use up for other purposes. HTH
  7. Thanks for the compliments Candleman, Yeah I did do that before I finished the basket. Took the pic beforehand hehe. As for the orbs, I've been forwarned of how addicting they are Sounds like I'm gonna have to make another wax order before I start eh? hehe.
  8. Hehe...Yeah I've already made another 2 of them, with a few more in my head to work on hehe. Next to try are the balloon orbs. Been searching for all the info on the boards for them.
  9. Congrats!!!! And there is no reason to be sorry for "tooting your own horn" for a job well done
  10. I melted Microcrystalline(sp?) and used an eyedropper to seal around the embeds on the outside.
  11. This Hurricane was for a baby basket. Was my first try at it. Here's some pics of the basket as well...
  12. You could do that or make the bottom(which is the top of the mold) your top. That way the chunks are sticking out of the top.
  13. After you poured did you tap lightly on the mold to try and get any air out? If not try that it should help.
  14. My suggestion would be to do the initial testing yourself. After you know it is a safe product and the way it burns, I would then let them test for their opinions, as well as how the candle smells/burns in different environments. But be aware that a lot of people with not really know what to look for and will usually come back with "It smelled great." or "It burned fine." Most people won't check the melt pool size as it burns, how deep the melt pool is, etc. HTH
  15. Very pretty. I love it and I'm sure she will as well
  16. one way to check is to have him take a shower without washing...I know sounds funny. But I'm slightly allergic to chlorine(which unfortunately is added to most water). I get out of the shower and itch like there is no tomorrow, I used to think it was the soaps and such as well until I went swimming and had a really really bad reaction. Doc said it was chlorine. HTH
  17. Also as far as how many candles could 10lbs of wax make it all depends on what size candles you are making.
  18. Thanks again Been wanting to get into the B&B side of things but the whole sterilizing thing and fear of things growing months later has kept me away from it. But I've decided it's time to slowly wade in Eventually want to make my own instead of using bases but figured it would be easier to ease into using a base Thanks again and I'll keep that in mind Soaper for future reference Got my first batch melting as I type this YAY! hehe I forgot how exciting it can be to try something new
  19. Thanks....that means they definitely couln't be put in boiling water to sterilize lol. Okies. I just wasn't sure if they needed to be sterlized as well. Thanks again
  20. I got the base from BCN to start out with, my question is how do you sterilize the lip balm tubes or should they already be sterile from manufacturer? They are plastic so not sure how hot they can get without melting. TIA.
  21. I thought it was just mine. Would have been nice though for them to email those notices instead. I don't go to the site often unless I need to change something on my store. Not to mention this morning my email also wasn't working That is very bad. My email is my lifeline.
  22. My first suggestion would be to try quality fragrance oils from a supplier. On the forums there is a section dedicated just to FOs, inside there is a link of different suppliers who carry FOs as well as many other helpful things Welcome to the addiction!
  23. These are parrafin candles, and yes that is my normal price. Around here that is actually cheaper than most places. Most things in my area are overpriced no matter what they are.
  24. Was she able to smell it but not you? How long had she been burning it at one time? It could possibly be candle nose.
  25. Thanks for the compliments all TwinMom, yeah I still have to change some of the pics around as I get them. It's not completely finished yet but it's functional and most that use it right now are current customers. TxSioux, no sorry I don't know the name of it. Had someone design my logo for me.
