What temp are your pouring your votives at? It could be you are pouring too cool?

I remember reading in an older thread on the salt rock that the pellets won't absorb the FO very well so if you haven't opened it yet you might be able to go back and return it for the actual salt. Nmhoneybear, Thank you for the compliments. I honestly don't remember where I got the fairy cutter. I got it online, I'll check when I get home from work and see if I can find which place I got it from. As for the edges, yes I trim my eadges on all the ornies, they are horrible before I do

Very nice I like the pink bag. When I put beads in the organza bags I used 2 oz of beads, but it's all a matter of preference.

I melt mine for about 6-7 mins depending on how big they are( I have some small cookie cutters as well as large ones) and how many are on the tray. I get mine to right before they start to turn liquidy(if that's even a word lol). Honeybear, It all depends on your market as well as your costs. I've just found that in my area I can charge that and no one really bats an eye, especially after they try them. They last longer than the $1-$2 ones you can get in the stores and more choices. HTH Ladysj, The rock salt should work just fine. As for the ornies I use a leather puncher to put the hole in them, got it at Michaels in the jewelry making aisle. They need to stay bumpy though otherwise when it gets hot in the car it will melt off the string faster. Don't ask how I know this I have come to like the bumpy look

I'm at work right now so don't have all my notes but I do remember reading that if it is the smelly jelly stuff that if it does end up in your drain that you can add salt to the drain while running water and the salt will dissolve the jelly stuff. Hope that makes sense lol...been a long day, looking forward to getting home to play with my supplies ETA: even if the salt would dissolve the jelly stuff, I really don't think I would wash it down the sink either...

The beads can also be heated to make the shaped ornies That's why I use them as they have multiple purposes where as the cardboard cutouts don't. I don't put mine in sachets anymore as I use scented salt rock for that now, but for the ornies I charge depending on the size of the air freshener...but retail aroun $3.75-$3.95. I tried adding white mica to mine but didn't really care for the look. hth

I use 1 oz FO and 5-6oz beads depending on scent. The lighter scent I use less beads than the heavier scents...hth

Sometimes when my plastic ones still I have to put in freezer, then let come back to room temperature. Also sometimes I bend it just the tiniest bit to break the seal so to speak. HTH

I put 1 oz in an organze bag, then put in a cello bag and seal the end. I put my labels on them as well stating not to set on plastic or wood, etc. So far my best selling scents for these are mango papaya, strawberry, baby powder, and ocean. I offer them in all of my scents though. HTH

I'm not really sure. It should be ok if you are only leaving for a few days until you can get some jars but I wouldn't leave them in there for actual storage. Also if you do put them in plastic bags make sure they are completely dry, if not the FO could eat through the plastic.

I have some that I made 5 or 6 months ago in jars that still have their scent. Just store in a cool dark place.

I know I've heated the smelly jelly stuff on my warmer, and it works fine. The pic looks a lot like mine do when they are dried out...they are little beadlike pellets. As long as the jar is sealed they wouldn't evaporate and dry out.

Morningstar, I keep my salts in canning jars until I need to package them for customers. For packaging I either use gusseted bags for the 1/2 or 1 lb or I put 1 oz in an organza bag for a sachet air freshener. HTH.

That's the amount I use..2g for a really light FO. I was a bit shocked at how little it took as well. But I guess the salt doesn't really absorb much of the FO it coats it instead so takes a lot less. HTH Also forgot to state earlier that when I'm dabbing them to dry them I wear latex gloves, that way I don't get a ton of FO or coloring on my hands
