  1. For the last 2 wks. I have had a serious sinus infection, so I'm giving my sinus's a rest until the new year and then I'll play catch up.
  2. I just double wicked for the first time last night. My jar is 3 1/2 in. wide at the opening. I use 4630 wax. I use 44-24-18z wicks and since I didn't have a larger wick I decided I would try double wicking and it has burnt great today.
  3. Thanks everyone, I'm definately going to try it since I know where to start now.
  4. Thanks Guys for all the suggestions. I liked them all. Been a long time since I've bought gumdrops.
  5. Thanks, that gives me some idea where to start. I tried to do it when I made a candy cane scent but all I got was a pretty pink color :undecided
  6. Has anyone tried this? I've did a search on this but can't find anything.
  7. Thank You. Now to go check out my color chips.
  8. I appologize if I'm asking this in the wrong place. I am getting ready to make candles using the scent Gumdrop. Does anyone have a suggestion for the color?
  9. Thank You. It's the exact glass except in 16 0z.
  10. Has anyone used the 16 0z. Libby wine glasses for a candle container? Are they safe to use?
  11. Thanks for the information. I live 45 min. north of Indy and wish that when I used 4786 that I had known this information. I use 4630 and 1343 now but go ahead and name the Co. if you want to, everyone else does. Thanks again. Brenda
  12. Wellllllll..... I've never been that creative. Naaaa, I'm too addicted to candles.
  13. Someone correct me please if I'm wrong but I always understood you measure the opening of the jar to determing the wick size.
  14. The way you learn is by reading, testing and asking questions. I have had plenty of questions to ask on this board and another one, so please don't feel that way. I use 4630 and love it but never had the nerve to add any thing elso to it. Let me know how it turns out. I've only been making candles for about a year now and still have questions.
  15. Congratulations Sounds like your off to a great start. :highfive:
  16. I started out making container candles and bought a kit from Cajun. They have a lot reading material that will help you out and as far as what to buy and what you can use from home. Their scents are really great and they have good service. I didn't have a lot of money to start out with so their suggestions on what I needed and didn't need was really helpful. When I had the money I did buy a Presto Pot at Walmart and I ask for a digital scale and digital thermometer for my birthday. All three make it so much easier for you. I have ordered jars and misc. things from Candle Science and they do have good service and their shipping charges are good. Hope some of this helps. Have fun and welcome to the addiction.
  17. On the other board I belong to, it said the z series wicks were no longer being made by whatever company produced them. There is a WU zinc wick out now that I have been testing and so far they are working great. I tested with 4630 wax and I usually use the 44-24-18z wick but decided to test the WU 270 Z wick and everything is good. I tested with Snicker Doodle in a 8 oz jj.
  18. I use the unscented baby wipes on my jars and if I've been a little messy with the wax it takes that right off too.
  19. I just bought a wicksetter too and love it.
  20. Just found the snowmen jars yesterday at our dollar tree. Do you have to double wick them? I haven't double wicked anything yet.
