Welcome Tasha. I'm a newbie and I'm getting ready to try my hand at soy, I've been making container wax candles. Everyone here is great! Any problem you might have you can find an answer to here. Have fun!
Thanks Stacy, I live in central IN about 45 miles north of Indianapolis. I am definately gonna try Mill Creek. I also want really good FO's. Right now I buy wax from Candle Science and FO's from Cajun. So if Mill Creek has both thats great. Thanks again Brenny
Hi fellow Hoosier. I am in Tipton, about 20 miles south of Kokomo. Thanks for the info. Now I have to get up the nerve to try it. Ha. I'm sure that I will have a lot more questions after I get thru reading everything about soy. Thanks again.
I would like to try making soy candles. I have been making container candles for about 4 months using 4786. Since I'm a newbie, I would like to know about how many 8oz. jelly jars I would get from 10 pounds of soy and where the best place is that I could order from. I live in Indiana.
Hi and welcome. I have been making candles for about 4 months. I also found the cajun candle sight and read thru everything they had and then bought their container candle kit, and now I'm hooked. They are good about answering questions too. But you will learn so much more on this forum. Everyone is willing to answer any questions you have or help you figure out any problems you have. Happy candle making.
Welcome Lee, I'm a newbie also, but I'm addicted. This sight is wonderful. There is no such thing as a dumb question on this forum. Everyone is willing to help out.
I have sinus trouble and some FO's bother me more that others. My Mother has asthma and she loves candles but some scents (banana nut bread for one) bothers her asthma.
OK...........I was going to reply to this thread but since I am a newbie I don't think I can or want to reply. Can't we all just agree to disagree?????
Thank you everyone for the advice about my oil slick in the bottom of my presto pot. I started adding FO at a higher temp. plus I stirred slower, and WAA-LAA oil slick is gone. Thanks so much Brenny
Hi everyone. I tried the suggestions on getting rid of my wet spots and they worked. I understand you probably won't get rid of them entirely but thanks so much for all the advice. Another question: I have read that some people mix their color and FO in their pour pots ( I have a pyrex) how do you keep it at the right temp. after you preheat the pyrex measuring cup? Thanks for all your help Brenny
Thanks Dat, I do preheat my pyrex measuring cup, but would a metal pour pot be better to use? I started using the pyrex to save money. I'm definately going to add my fo at a higher temp. tho. Thanks Brenny
