  1. Nope, just pour into room temperature moulds, that works fine for me Don't forget to post pics when its done Anjie,x.
  2. Yvette, those are truly beautiful, really easy on the eye Lurve the colours in the first 2 and the last one is just WOW. You said it is plain ..... did you mean one colour? because that orange one looks like its 3 really subtle shades gradullay fading into one another, or is it just the camera making it look that way? Anjie,x.
  3. OMG those are just lush! The last one I like especially but they are all absolutely fabulous!!! Anjie,x.
  4. One quick question ..... I was staring at your candles again *lol* thinking how flippin gorgeous they were when it hit me that the little blue candle has the layers overlaping the wrong way! How did you do that? Did you wick it the right way up, as in the top of the mould as the top of the candle instead of the bottom of mould as top of candle? Anjie,x.
  5. A few more .... not sure about these, especially the smallest ones, Like the big ones though :smiley2: Black Raspberry and Vanilla. Warm Vanilla Sugar. Anjie,x.
  6. Oh wow, what a great idea! I never thought of doing that. Anjie,x.
  7. Oh so you take the cookie cutter off before burning them? When I first read this thread I thought the cookie cutter was like a contianer to burn them in dohh. Neat idea though. Could you not put some cling flim (food wrap) over the playdoh so that its not in direct contact with the wax, but there is still a seal there ..... if you know what I mean. Anjie,x.
  8. Hi there. I am in the UK so I don't know where you would get hold of some of the glass inserts for t-lights in the US. To make them I seal off the open end of the t-light glass with blue tac (mould sealer??) and push it into place, upside down, in the mould I am using - making sure that it is centred and covering the wick hole. Then I pour my candle as usual. Once I have done my 2nd pour and the candle has set up COMPLETELY I push a thin wick pin through to wick hole until it touches the glass insert inside and push hard until the blue tac releases and the candle slides free of the mould. At this point you may need to remove any excess blue tac stuck around the glass insert but you can do this easily enough by rolling some fresh blue tac over it and it will come free leaving the candle top clean. HTH. Anjie,x.
  9. They look gorgeous! I just love the blue one at the end. Is palm seriously hard to get wicked right then? Anjie,x.
  10. WOW! That's a big job, well done. Anjie,x.
  11. Hmm yeah, £5.95 is a bit steep on postage for 10!! I ordered 30 and the whole thing came to £13 something - around 44p ish per t-light, which is still ok for me. I would offer you some of mine but I need them :undecided Have to get chrimbo pressies finished Anjie,x.
  12. I just love those! They are gorgeous! Fab job, well done you. Anjie,x.
  13. Yep *lol* Not very often that anything I want isn't in the US Took me ages of searching to find em at the right price and 25p I can handle! Anjie,x.
  14. Thanks again for your lovely comments. Yvette, I get them at Norhtern Lights ( www.onestopcandleshop.co.uk ) 35p each or 25p if you buy more then 25. Anjie,x.
  15. I just read another thread and learnt how to get the pins out . JAYRU620 - My wickpins didn't entriely cover the bottom of my votive moulds, but near enough, and they worked just fine. Give it a go Anjie,x.
  16. I received my new votive wick pins today so had to run out to the garage and use them asap They came out fab but how do I get the wick pins out of the finished votive *lol* and and and when I have managed to get the pins out of the votives and wicked them, do I have to hit the top with a heat gun to 'set' the wick - because the wick pin hole is bigger than the wick - or do I just leave it as is. I don't like the look of the tops of my votives after I heat gun them, I like em luuuvly and smooth Anjie,x.
  17. Yes please! If you don't mind me being nosey Anjie,x.
  18. ARGHHHHHHHHHH I can't find CD or C wicks available in the UK!! Thanks for your help, but these are driving me insane Just when I think I have them wicked right they start smoking on the 3rd burn, or mushrooming badly!! THIS is why I love making pillars and not containers Anjie,x.
  19. Sometimes you see candles that are just too good for words - sorry I am lost for words! Oh no, I found some..... Awesome! Gorgeous! Fabulous! I love that brown one hiding at the back right there, what is that affect called? It looks like it's been chiseled out of wood . Love those crackles Great job. Anjie,x.
  20. OMG those are stunning! How do you get such perfect mottles? I just get them by accident sometimes *lol* I never know how I do it - apart from maybe adding too much f/o sometimes :embarasse . I have that heart mould too! I just love it, its my favourite mould. Anjie,x.
  21. I asked this same question when I first started *lol*. And my reply is the same as Karen's and the same as I got back then - its all about timing. Get the timing right and you have it down. I don't need a thermometer for this anymore, because I know exactly when my wax for rustics is ready to go, and when the skin on the previous layer is just thick enough to take the new wax without melting and all the colours mingling together but getting good adhesion between layers - just by looking at what the wax is doing. If I walk away between layers on a rustic then it all goes to pot because I always leave it too long to go back and its set up too much. Keep going at it and you'll get there then post us some pics . And sorry Eugenia for answering your question :embarasse . Anjie,x.
  22. Those are absolutely breathtaking! Both sets are just seriously awesome. These are what got me wanting to make candles in the first place, I used to 'dream' about making candles like that, and I am being serious *lol*. Don't you dare find fault with them, they are totally perfect . I don't use mould release either, never have. I find if I leave my candles in the mould long enough (until they are totally cool and there is a gap between wax and mould) then I don't lose much frosting most of the time. I pour with my moulds at room temp and cool at room temp too. Now lets see MORE candles!! Anjie,x.
