  1. What are they Yvette?? I am intrigued Anjie,x.
  2. Have you tried gently squeezing them while rolling them in the palms of your hands? it never fails for me on the stubborn little monkeys Anjie,x.
  3. I really don't know CB. It was in a bunch of samples that I was given, so I suppose it COULD be. There is nothing to say it is on the label but that doesn't mean that it isn't - if you know what I mean I'll drop Jo an email later and see if she sells Marzipan flavour oil - it's not one I bought (never had a problem with Jo's oils ) so it's not a big problem. Anjie,x.
  4. I have a small bottle of Marzipan f/o that was given to me, its a Sensory Perfection one. When I was mixing the oil into the melted wax, I noticed a yellow puddle at the bottom of the pot. I mixed it like crazy for ages but it just wouldn't mix in!! I increased the temp of the wax and it still wouldn't mix in. I have never had this before with an oil so I thought what the hell i'll make the candle anyway and see what happens. When I turned the forever pillar out, I could see that all of the oil had settled at the bottom (now the top) of the candle and was encased under a thin layer of wax - looked pretty cool seeing the oil sloshing around in there . Any ideas why an oil wouldn't mix into paraffin pillar wax? I used 10% stearin and 6% f/o. I tried searching on this before I posted but the search kept coming up with a big fat zero *lol* Maybe I was wording it wrong. Anjie,x.
  5. Did it work? And did you hit him over the head with a heavy frying pan? Guaranteed to stop him laughing at you (that was a joke by the way! don't go hitting anyone with frying pans). Anjie,x.
  6. Ohh yeah, that happened! Lesson learned. Thanks Scented. Anjie,x.
  7. I usually use stearin when I make my rustics, but for some reason I used vybar by mistake in 2 pillars the other day, when they were setting up they looked strange, kind of creamy looking, I thought I had used container wax by mistake until I saw the vybar packet on the side :undecided They turned out all smooth and very shiny - is that what vybar is suppsed to do? lol Anjie,x.
  8. Gorgeous! Candles like that are what got me making candles in the first place Anjie,x.
  9. Those are lovely, they look very professional - you have my address, right? lol. Anjie,x.

  12. Have you had a look in the gallery here to see if you can see the kind of thing you are trying to describe? HTH. Anjie,x.
  13. Blimey! My hubbys answer to 'how does this smell?' is "like soap" *lol* I don't know why I bother asking How you going with all that pouring Yvette? Anjie,x.
  14. *LOL* Thats just when you get candle nose and you can't tell the sodding difference Anjie,x.
  15. Awwwww cuteness! Make sure you post pics of him after he has set up and don't worry, you get used to the screams after a while, they like it really Anjie,x.
  16. I thought she meant that if you add the colour first and get it how you want it, maybe the colour of the oil itself may affect the finished colour What colour is Spiced Cranberry oil? Is it brown? Anjie,x.
  17. Aww thats a real shame. Do you make dipped bears?? Can't you use it for that instead? Anjie,x.
  18. Add more wax?? Not sure how you would work out HOW MUCH wax you would have to add though Any idea howmuch was left in the bottle? Did it ALL fall in the wax or just a percentage of it? Anjie,x.
  19. With a fork before the wax sets up, or you get wax bobbles on the end of the fur. Anjie,x.
  20. I don't think it matters Yvette, whatever you think looks appealing in the packages you are using I suppose . What size melts are they? Was that supplier you just metioned selling the polypro bags? I just had a nosey (like you do *lol) and couldn't find a SOAPOSH on there, did you get the spelling wrong........ or did I?? Ohhhh your craft fair date is coming around quick are you excited?? I hope you do really well. Anjie,x.
  21. .Mine? Aww thank you! Thats was my English Bull Terrier, Zak, he passed away in the year 2000, bless him. Anjie,x.
  22. Remember this one Yvette Don't leave your metal votive moulds soaking in hot soapy water then forget about them for days - THEY RUST! And don't put your tin moulds in the oven to clean the excess wax off and forget to turn the temperature down first - the welds on these things come UNwelded in too hot an oven, I found that out the hard way damn I miss that mould *lol* Anjie,x.
  23. Yep, sounds like you didn't get it wicked properly. The ideal is to get a nice full meltpool that goes right to the sides of the jar, leaving you with no wax 'hangup' on the glass. Welcome to the FRUSTRATING world of container candle making *lol* You'll either end up with the perfect candle or go insane trying Don't forget to write everything you add to your candle 'recipe' down on paper, or once you have got it all figured out and burning well you won't be able to do it again, make a note of all measurements of wax/fo/colour and what wick you used - believe me it will become your bible and you will protect it with your life!! Anjie,x.
