  1. I love them! Those jars are sooo gorgeous!
  2. Wow, those are really pretty! But yeah, real flowers in a candle that burns to the edge can catch fire when they come into contact with the lit wick. ;0) Loving the watermelon candles too, they make we want to run out and buy a watermelon to eat!! Are they scented in melon? Yum. Another quick tip too, you may not realise (or you might and that's the way you wanted it to be lol) your star candle has been made upside down. The bottom of the mould is usually the top of the turned out candle, leaving a lovely smooth top to the pillar. Do you get what I mean? Keep the pics coming. Anjie,x.
  3. OMG thank you soo much, what lovely comments! Kim absolutely loved it, she said it was her bestest present awwwww. I got the mould from a candle supplies company over here in England. Anjie,x.
  4. Just had a look and they haven't got what I want! Ohhhhhhhh bum!
  5. I know them Julie, that's where I got my tantric lovers mould. I'll have a lookey, thanks. p.s. if you ever want anything sent over just let me know x
  6. Damn you people are gorgeous .... please help me! I am in the UK and for about a year now I have been chomping at the bit to get my hands on some of the jeweled mould sets that I have only ever seen on Nu-Scents and North Valley Molds websites ... preferably style's B and C. Although it's really hard to find a pic of a finished candle from style B grrrr. Its way too expensive for me to get them shipped from North Valley Molds and Nu-Scents don't ship to the UK santa mad. Does anybody on here use these mold sets, or have some they want to sell, or even know of any other places that sell these and ship to the UK?? I will kiss the cheeks of anyone who can help me out here ..... face cheeks! Ta very much Anjie,x.
  7. It is a bit saucy isn't it I really hope she likes it, i'll find out in a bit. Thanks for all your lovely comments xx
  8. Excuse the manky tea towel too LOL I was trying to stop the flash reflecting off the tiles. David Bailey I aint ;0)
  9. I don't usually work with silicone moulds but my bestest friend saw this candle in a book and fell in love with it. Its her birthday on Sunday so I hunted the mould down and made it for her. This was my 2nd attempt, the first time I tried to get it out of the mould I pulled it in half! The top got stuck in the mould and the lot nearly ended up out the kitchen window!! Excuse the base, it's not finished off yet. I didn't want the colour to be flat so I poured once in brown and emptied the mould then repoured in antique ivory. I was aiming for aged marble :rolleyes2 Scented in parchment and the cold throw is soooooo strong! Anjie,x.
  10. Wow, I love them! The 2nd one is my favourite but they are both gorgeous x
  11. I've got the same problem with certain f/o's. I have asthma and its not irritated at all by me using the oils, but I do get banging headaches from some of the more potent fragrances I use. Its a shame because some of them I really like the smell of. I cringe when people ask for Lavender because I just hate the smell, it makes me want to heave. Anjie,x.
  12. I have never washed a pour pot or metal mould in soap and water. I melt down what's in the bottom of the pot if its solidified, tip it into a spare mould, and heat gun the pot before wiping it out with kitchen paper towel. I don't see the point in washing them out, its too much like hard work and I know I would end up blocking the drains! :0) Anjie,x.
  13. They look fab! Well done. Now comes the fun part - NOT - the testing of the wicks ;0) Nearly drove me mad and I still can't wick anything bigger than a 3" container lol. Anjie,x.
  14. Ahhh Donita, you've still got it girl, you're still the Luminary Queen ;0) Keep the pics coming, the wax misses you too! xxx
  15. ROFL @ Raven! Sounds like my family ;0) Georgia, looking at the first photo i'd say remelt them and try again. Is the 2nd photo the same pillars? How did you do that crackle thing? I really like that! Anjie,x.
  16. That's soo pretty, and very creative ;0) I take it the inside of the cardboard mould was coated with something to stop it going soggy with the hot wax? Anjie,x.
  17. Well done, that's a pretty colour. The melt pool looks fab too but the flame looks huge ... maybe its just the pic. The wick could do with a trim How long had it been burning when you took the pic? If you think you are getting away from candle making now, think again ... and kiss goodbye to any spare cash you have Anjie,x.
  18. Easy!!! Show me how and i'll agree with you ;0) lol.
  19. Damn Scented (My hero) .. as ever I bow down to your greatness ;0) They are all absolutely stunning - as if I'd expect anything less. Tutorial? Absolutely! I need to know how you get your colours to mix soo beautifully but not completely mix, if that even makes sense lol. The ebony and ivory for instance, the dark stripes look like 'tigers eye' stone!!
