Hi there. A lady on another forum was asking whether she can use gel wax as a 'glaze' on a soy wax pie crust with soy wax fruit embeds in. Is it ok to use gel wax with soy? Thanks in advance for any advice. Anjie,x.

Hi Scented. I was refering to the metal moulds, not the silicone ones, but thanks for your reply. Cyber, I was wondering how you seal round the middle. Do you pack it round with mould sealer or use tape or something?? Anjie,x.

Thank you Scented!! That's my Alex, and he is just gorgeous (even if I am biased lol). You can't really see it in my crappy pic but he has the biggest brightest blue eyes and the cheekiest personality plus he gives the bestest cuddles in the world . Why do they grow up so quick though? Anjie,x.

I started a thread earlier asking about making a photo hurricane, thought I would post a pic of the finished result. Again, bad quality picture but it was the best I could do with my phone in this lighting. It looks wonky lol but it really isn't. I used a waterslide decal. Anjie,x.

Thanks. Why do I have to overdip Vicky? I've made the hurricane and put the decal on and it looks fab, i'm soo pleased with myself If I overdip it I just know I am going to ruin it *lol*. What clear coat do I use? Is it a special varnish for candles? Anjie,x.

Apply a decal to a 'cane? Hubby was messing around printing photo's onto decal paper (using up space on the A4 sheet) and he printed the most gorgeous picture of my baby son. I was going to put it on a mug for my Mum for Mothers Day but its too big! Can I apply the decal to a hurricane rather than embed a photo into it. I have never made a cane before and haven't got time to learn how to embed photos. Anjie,x.

I tend to use leftover wax for dipping bears and if the left overs happen to be container wax then I mix half with parrafin so that the wax on the finished bear sets up and doesn't stay soft. Don't hang around once the bears are out of the pot, they start to set up quick. I always start to pick at the hands and feet first because they set up quicker for some reason, then the head, belly and back. I bought some new bears recently and drowned one last night - he didn't turn out too bad, but he's just for me so I'm not too worried. HTH. I received a huge box of new oils midweek that I want to try out, but haven't had time yet, I AM going to get them in wax this weekend. Mmmmmm spearmint, magnolia, stargazer lily, moonlight path (yum), coconut, vicks vapo-rub, lemongrass and white tea n' ginger - can't wait!
