  1. Oh my! That is just gorgeous! Just utterly gorgeous!
  2. The blending looks neat That looks like a humdinger of a wick ya got there
  3. Ohh, that makes a difference. For some reason I was thinking tapers, though I did wonder why the cups in your pic were so wide...LOL Teaches me to think
  4. The prongs are sitting in the hole opening. Think of them as spring loaded. Squeeze them to push the base through and prongs into the hole, then let go. They open up and grab onto the hole walls. At least that's how the plastic ones work. Metal ones could be pushed all the way through the hole then the prongs shoved back down into the wax floor if it's not too hard maybe. Hope this makes sense anyway
  5. I'm not seeing the pic for the .19 one, but it says 2 3/4" high. I don't think that'd be quite tall enough for mine. I've burnt all mine testing, so I guess I'll need to make another to measure...LOL
  6. What a great idea. Those are adorable
  7. Very pretty! I like the soft swirls And the beveling look so professional.
  8. I've been wondering if you could use one of those shaver/shaper things that you use on taper bases
  9. Great idea decorating the top! Which scent goes to the one that looks like sunny side up eggs?
  10. That would make a nice table display for a beach party
  11. I like the effect and the colors. Looks rustic to me. Not the "rustic" usually referred to here, but....like somthing you would see on the set to Little House on the Prarie or in a museum with antique sewing machines
  12. The colors are great. Small one reminds me of a pumkin patch What are they scented?
  13. Both look good, but I just love the chunk! My kinda colors
  14. When to repour is a personal thing. I don't wait until they are completely just very close. If they are too cool and hard, the repour doesn't stick as well. Then again, if they haven't cooled enough to finish shrinking, they will sink a bit after the repour. It's one of those things that you'll just have to do a few times to get the feel of what is right for you
  15. I've made them,. but haven't packaged any yet I'm hoping to find the clear plastic snap lid containers, like the small ones used at a salad bar. So far, they're either in very large bulk quantities or very expensive
  16. If you're referring to the difference between the thickness of the wick pin and the wick, it's not a problem. When the votive is lit, it fills in instantly. And you don't normally have to worry about the wick falling out, the neck of the wick tab will usually keep it in place It's just one lil votive, pour it and see for yourself. I promise it wont jump out of the mold and holler at you if it's not quite right. Besides, if you don't like it, toss it back in the pot to melt for another try, that'll stop it's hollerin
  17. I just assumed (yeah, I know the saying) that the hole was for a screw/nail and used to attach it securely in case it's sitting on top of the design, not embedded. Either way, I wouldn't think it would be a problem. One burn and the hole will be covered by wax
  18. That looks cool.. especially dressed up
  19. Oh my, that must be very hard, but I'm sure they all appreciate it. It's a great tribute.
  20. I get mines at www.hbcornerstore.com They have regular and mini. Great prices on them and the shipping
  21. There may be others, but this is the only place I've seen them so far. HTH http://www.nationalartcraft.com/subcategory.asp?gid=5&cid=109&scid=239
  22. Alot of people have used craft store wax at some point. Some like it, some dont'. Either way, it costs an arm and leg, but will do in a pinch. There are alot of good suppliers, one key is finding one close to you to keep shipping costs on wax down. This board is sponsored by Peaks and has great stuff and the most excellent service. Their FO's are the best quality available, IMO. You might want to browse through the archives of the old board. It has a wealth of valuable info. You can also find the link in the drop down box on the bottom left of this site, Access the Archives http://www.candletech.com/cgi-local/yabb/YaBB.cgi Oh yeah, Welcome to the board
  23. Umm yeah, been there, done that too
