  1. I must've missed something. Why use a mold release with container candles? You said they had been turning out fine until the last 6 batches. Are you using the same bottle of FO or has it changed? Buying FO on eBay is risky IMO, been there, done that. If you want a quality candle, you need quality ingredients. You can get pretty good deals from reputable suppliers if you look around. I don't know about your situation, especially if it's a mottle you're getting, but think if anything has changed between the good ones and the not so desirable batches. Is it the same batch of wax? Even the heat and humidity can cause problems.
  2. But can you outrun the heat gun and projectile wick pins??
  3. Very pretty! Especially the rose petals
  4. Sounds interesting! So any FO with any vanilla in it will turn dark brown?
  5. That's because I seemed to have left off that they were meant to be used as well as decorative smell goodies. When I bought most of my FO's I had no desire to even think about doing B&B. This is one of my fav scents, so I guess I'll have to hunt down some that is skin safe. Since I've only made a couple things so far, I haven't worried too much that all the FO's are ok. I've made a list of ones that are and aren't, but only gotten through the Peaks ones so far. Can't believe just how many I've bought..LOL Glad I'm not the only one who's done this I do ALOT of reading, thank you e - I just may do that! LMAO BTW: I tried to reply to everyone in this one post so as not to "jack up my post numbers".... geeez
  6. Oh, you're talking more along the marble line. Not sure how you would control the marble though. Seems like if you gave it a swirl after it's in the mold, it might not show on the surface much. You said you did one? I'd love to see a pic of what you're talking about
  7. What is an oyster cup? And putting the right things in there to start off with is good, but I don't want the tealight/votive tossed just anywhere in there and have the side melt Tins.. 2,500 to a case? OMG...LOL I'll do some looking Oh Scrubbz.. I didn't see th first reply. You coulda left it there too. Now it's gonna bug me
  8. Looks great! I just love that black marble!
  9. They weren't supposed to be decorative only...LOL
  10. I just made some pretty, nice smelling Hyacinth decorative ONLY soaps. Dumbass me forgot to check if the FO was skin safe first! Guess what... it's not
  11. Yup, the color is from the oatmeal. The more I stirred, the darker it got...lol. It has a very faint natural scent, just from the oatmeal and the honey. I didn't add any FO this time. Just from cleaning up afterwards, I noticed it's real susdy
  12. Anyone have any idea of something to use for a positioning ring inside a hurricane. I'm "gluing" a round piece of cork inside for the tealite to sit on. However, I'm sure also that people wont make sure tealite is sitting on it. Sooo.. I want to put some kind of ring(maybe 1/4"tall) on the cork to hold it in place. Kinda like a small upside down lid. Maybe this just isn't feasible
  13. Have you checked to see if stick glue will stick to wax?
  14. I've been thinking of trying the pic again and putting it on the outside with tacky wax, like the flower ones. Smoothing with a hot knife to make sure there are no bubbles, then over dipping.... wonder if it'd work
  15. Sorry it went so bad I've not gotten a pic one to work smoothly yet so I'm not much help. It sure looks like the wax made a shell before you got the picture stuck. If it starts to harden before you're ready, you can zap it a bit. As for remelting, sure you can. You can also re use the pic. It's already saturated so no worry about air bubbles
  16. I really don't mean to be discouraging but.... that would be like shooting yourself in the foot. In my opinion anyway Hurricane wax is a completely different beast. Mine is anyway, IGI-1554. Texture is kinda grainy inside, hardens rather quickly, it's just different to use. Once you get the wax, you'll have to repeat the whole process of "getting the hang of it" anyway. I'm sure someone will jump in here with other opinions... lol
  17. Very pretty, especially the ginger/lime!
  18. Those turned out good. I like the pansies!
  19. The marbling is great! Must be my monitor, it looks hot pink...lol.
