  1. I've never used J-300... Just wanted to say Howdy and Welcome to CT
  2. Below where you click submit reply, there is another section for pictures. Click on manage attachments. A new window will pop up. Browse to the picture you want. Then click upload and wait until it's done. It'll show the file name. Close the window. Back where the manage attachment button is, click that submit reply. HTH
  3. Howdy and Welcome If you look through the gallery and read through some of the old board (link above) you'll get more ideas than you know what to do with
  4. What color are they starting out and what are they changing to?
  5. Thanks ya'll! I normally use the 4625 and it doesn't bulge like this. So this is normal. But it still shouldn't feel damp and color your fingers when you hug it right? I went down to 3/4 oz pp. I'll find out when I unmold it tomorrow. Does this need less FO because it's the Lavander or all FO's need to be 1/2 - 3/4 oz pp?
  6. I'm hoping to find something for a mold this week. Then if I get next weekend off I may get brave and unlock the lye and give this a try Thanks e and Robin for the info! Added: AND if I find an easy recipe using the stuff I've collected so far
  7. Great! Ok, is it the thin or thick trace you want?
  8. Howdy and Welcome! As well as all the great information you'll find here, theres even more in the old board archive... http://www.candletech.com/cgi-local/yabb/YaBB.cgi Have fun!
  9. I got mine for the candles but it works just as well for this. Oldwillknots on ebay! Great service and prices. He came recommended by alot of people here Added: I don't remember the model, it's in the garage and I'm lazy at the moment But it's a digital postal scale, up to 30lb and goes in .1oz and 1gr too. Also has the Tare feature, auto off(not so sure I like, but great for the batteries), battery or AC, both of which are included.
  10. Oh, kind of like a track or maybe a boats wake in the water? It the "trace" supposed to stay there or slowly level back out? I need lots of info before I try things I don't understand and never have found any explanation of this. Thanks e!
  11. Can someone explain to me exactly waht trace is/means? What does it look like? How do you know if you have it or not?
  12. Very pretty! What is oxygen(in this context..lol)?
  13. I see what she means now! The standard links at the bottom of this page where "contact us" is... that Archive is for the new board here. In the "jump to" drop down box, the last in the list "Access the archives" takes you to the old board! I hadn't noticed that before...LOL
  14. It was a temporary glitch. It's working again http://www.candletech.com/cgi-local/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=bbrecipes
  15. That's good info to know. I'll keep it for when I get the citric acid to try this. Thanks! Keep trying Melly, you'll get it!
  16. It's not bad for your first try. On it's on, it's pretty anyway. To get the swirl, I really think it would've worked better if you had used a round mold. The key seems to be for the rings to touch the mold in some places, but not all. While I just love your mold and can't wait until I can get one for me, the corrugated surface keeps the color rings from show dark. For the rings, you may want a few less dark ones. I don't remember the exact ratios she used in the tutorial, but I used 3:2:1 I think. 3 white to 2 pale color to 1 dark color times how every many needed to fill it up. I have to say, your first came much closer than mine!
  17. Both baskets look great. I really like the one your mom did. I have a dried flower vase made that way that my grandmother had made years ago.
  18. if you only have one old cup lying around, shouldn't be hard to decide
  19. Without sweating during burning? Oh yeah, it was Peaks Lavender, in case that matters
  20. It has cooled completely now since I put it out before trying to go to sleep. I did hug it some then(yucky), but as you can see, it wasn't enough apparently.
