  1. 8Grains, one more thing. This batter does move very fast. After you add the salt into the thin emulsified bater, stir by hand a few times making sure all is well mixed, then get those dividers into the soap slab, pronto! Have your dividers assembled and ready to push into the mixture! It moves that fast! Paul....
  2. No, not necessary to insulate any of my TOG Molds! I'd put the top on for about 15 minutes then peek to see if it has came to full gel. If in full gel, remove top and let cool. After most of the heat has dissipated, (could be 5 to 8 hours) place top back on mold, turn bottom of mold up-side-down and the liners and soap will fall onto the top. Remove the liners by "peeling" them off the sides and bottom of slab or soap. Gently remove each bar from the dividers by gently shaking each bar loose from the Plexiglass dividers. Your done! 12 perfect shaped salt bars! No need to ever wash the TOG Mold under running water! Simply wipe down with a warm rag or washcloth and let thoroughly dry. Simply rinse the liners under warm water while rubbing by hand or with a light action of a washcloth. Do not wash or dry in the dishwasher. After mold and liners are dry, your ready to soap again. Oh, there are 4 side liners in that mold. @ of them are a tad bit longer than the other 2. After putting in the bottom liner, put both the longer liners on opposite sides of the mold, while the 2 shorter ones insert on opposite sides from each other. That's it! Paul....
  3. I would put the lid on for about 15 minutes, then remove it. I would use about 32 ounces of total oils, and about 24 ounces of Kosher or sea salt. These TOG Molds are so well insulated since they are full 3/4" thick wood plus the liners also insulate. No need to put them into the oven at all. The salt added at emulsification, and hand stirred a few times, then pour. These will get super hot, almost like potatoes from the oven. After about 1 hour, check to see how the bars are doing. Since this is a divider mold, there is no need to worry about when to cut like in a log or a regular slab. This is the perfect mold for said salt bars! Thanks 8Grains! Tell me/us how they turn out! Paul....
  4. Nope, I sell them in bulk. Check out my store. My soap dishes are solid Oak, not Pine. They are hand sanded, hand rubbed finish, and applied a clear acrylic coat to prevent water getting into the wood. Thanks again Care Bear! Your a peach, my friend! Bobbie, how many are you looking at purchasing? Your in Ok, I'm in MO, shipping should be very reasonable. Click on my web site in my signature line. Paul....:smiley2:
  5. A log and a slab mold; 2 molds are good, or better yet, a log and a slab mold in one unit. Paul....
  6. The other day I had some older soaps I had to hit with the heat gun again since I wrapped them. They are 8 month old or older. They all still smell great and it did not take much to "tighten" up the PVC shrink wrap. Paul....
  7. I've been cutting my own 4" shrink wrap tubing for about 1-1/2 years now. I like it and it is so cost effective. I have about 1/4 of one cent into each wrap sleeve. I cut at 4-1/4" too. It just wraps around the ends and leaves a little oval shape on each end to smell the soap and allow it to breath! Paul....:smiley2:
  8. Deb, I don't know whose molds you are talking about that you've had problems with, that is a shame, but you have not bought any of my molds so it was not mine. Uplands and Kelsei molds are fine molds. I started out as a soapmaker looking for a better mold. I am still a soapmaker that has a better mold. Paul....
  9. You want a wood slab mold with permanent liners and dividers? How big? Paul....:smiley2:
  10. I thought this must be you! I could not think of anybody else! When we spoke on the phone the other day, I forgot to ask your CT name. Nice looking web site you guys have! Need to change locations though! LOL We are looking forward to having a cup of coffee and "talking!" You can tour the TOG Shop, then come see my dedicated soap room. Talk to you soon. Call me if you want! Paul....:smiley2:
  11. Very nice looking soap you have sitting on that new cutter of yours! Love the colours you choose to put in for that scent! As for my TOG 8 Wire Log/Bar Cutter, it has been very popular at my etsy site. Thank you for the very nice review there and here at CT! I'm so very happy you like it so well! Customers like you are a reason for giving my best to help other soapmakers. It makes me feel like a proud new "papa!" Enjoy it my friend! Paul....
  12. That's why I make TOG WOOD MOLDS with my unique liner system! It's hard to beat the insulation factor of wood with a top verses any kind of plastic mold, just a fact. I was thinking HDPE myself at one time, did make myself one using a dado blade on my table saw to make the common channel like most have, used super slick sided food grade HDPE, the soap still sticks unless you wipe it down with mineral oil. I may come out with a TOG HDPE Line this spring, time will tell, but for now, my TOG wood molds, especially my new 12/24 bar TOG Slab Mold with liners and Lexan dividers is "DA BOMB!" They are selling very well for me. Paul...
  13. This is NOT one from Kangaroo Blue! Paul....
  14. In my TOG Dual Log/Slab Mold, I can pour at medium trace, let come to full gel within 45 minutes, using the wood top, and remove the top after gel, and let cool and cut the soap in 7 to 8 hours after pouring every time! The wood helps hold heat much better than any plastic mold can, fact! The liners that come with the mold are very, very durable and I've been using mine for over a year now. Give it a try! I'll even take your plastic mold in on trade! Paul....
  15. I buy all my oils, most butters, from Columbus Foods, or Soapers Choice. Mike is a great guy to do business with and they have great products and service. Shipping to Springfield is not too bad. Hey, we can go together and save on shipping! I have 7 gallons of Rice Bran Oil and I'd part with a few gallons if you want some RBO! I buy it from Riceland directly. CF's web url is; http://www.soaperschoice.com/cgi-soaperschoice/Web_store/web_store.cgi?query_price_low_range=0&cart_id= Paul....
  16. I have some I have not soaped yet, but did make a batch of lotion with it. I think I got it from Tony's. I'm pretty sure it was, and it is a really good dupe! Just a nice baby powder.....well J&J scent! Paul....

  18. Thank you Sandra! I appreciate the feedback. If you take 10" X 2.5" X 3.375" X .4 you get 33-3/4 ounces of oils for the TOG 10" Log Break-A-Way Mold. I do say to use 32 for this mold, but that should not have caused this log to be that short. Try using 34 ounces of oils. I soap at 32 to 33% lye solution a moderate discount. I used this mold at 33% and 32 ounces and it came out just about 2-1/3" in height. Hummmmm.... Thanks for the rave again! Good luck Sandra let us know how it turns out, I'm very interested now. Edited to change the ounces to 34 NOT 43! Doy!:embarasse Paul;)

  21. Yep, I love my Soapmaker lite verson! Diane and Crawford have a great product! I need to upgrade to the full version soon. Thanks Woodi and Crawford! Paul....
  22. Yes! I do use aloe vera juice to mix my lye slurry with. I use the farm fresh (yet soured) goat milk at complete emulsification. I do add a heaping teaspoon of powdered goat milk to replace the aloe vera juice i used to mix my lye slurry in. I can honestly say I have a 100% goat milk soap. It's would be the same as adding dried aloe vera powder to the milk, just in reverse! Thanks for asking. I really love soured goat milk soap! Paul....
  23. I make a soured goat milk soap. Because of the natural occurring sodium lactate, the bars get nice and hard after a good cure! I think a soured farm fresh goat milk recipe is even better than my regular goat milk recipe. I just take the soured cold goat milk and stick blend until all smoothed out and combined and soap as usual. No stink, only a great bar of goat milk soap. Paul....
