    Yep< Kymber, that is the old style now. You were the last one to get it. Now they look like the ones above, with 2 logs in each mold, not just 1. Always trying to improve! Thanks Kymber for posting that pic, NICE looking soap!:highfive:

    Yea Kimber, I think you have the TOG style #1, which has one log. My mold now has 2 logs and the slab setup. It is anout an inch wider that the first ones I sold that had only 1 log per mold. Always improving, thanks to you guys! :highfive: I can't see your pic. I want to see your mold and soap! Oh, the new mold holds two logs, each one is 3 pounds of soap. The slab can be single, 9 bars, 3-1/2 pounds, or doubled to make a 7 pound slab!

    I do not really care for them, myself! They cost .04 cents each. I buy a 1500 foot roll and cut my own, that way, the cost is 1/4 of .01 cent each. Yes, I said 16 for the price of 1 Dan's bands! I like how the shrink wrap I use shrinks better than Dan's Bands do. Just what works for me. ETA: Here is a pic. of mine wrapped in the tubing I cut;

    I use the dark red colored ones that Wal-Mart sells. I use them mainly for rebatched soap and if I have a little left over soap, say after making a confetti soap or other imbeds or planets. This one does not discolor the soap like others say they have had trouble with. There are 6 cavities in the mold, and finished soaps weigh right at 4 oz. each. You just push on the bottom of one as you are pulling down at the sides of the mold, and the round soap just pops right out! Love them!

    I also buy lye in bulk, 50 pounds at a time. But when I first started making soap, I went to Lowes and bought "Roebic Heavy Duty Crystals." It is 100% lye (sodium hydroxide) not mixed, like some other drain cleaners are, with aluminum shavings. Some companies like Drano use aluminum to help deter the meth heads from using it. Too bad we have to use lye too. Some junkies spoil everything for good people! Try your Lowes for the Roebic. It is $7.88, or there about, for a 2 pound plastic jug. I went to my Lowes this afternoon for materials to make more of my wood Convertible molds. Hope this helps!

    Welcome to CT Lisa! I am the occasional male soaper to the soapmaking forums! There are a few of us guys who are into the craft of soapmaking! I was bit by the bug last November, and have been churning out soap ever since last December! I read every day that I could for at least 45 days every soapmaking site I could find! LOL When the "soap" bug hits, there is no known antidote for it! My wife is like most husbands, just really doesn't care in the process of soapmaking; she just loves my goat milk soaps though! Welcome to our addiction!

    What the other ladies said, is dead on! As long as the lye amount was right for the recipe, the lye solution is emulsified completely into your oils, and you got it into your mold, all is fine!

    Here is a soap I made this weekend. Smels just like the real perfume! The colors are blue and yellow oxide and ultramarine. The kahki color is from thr fo. Thanks for looking.

    Carol was dead on! As you cook the soap, the saponification process is doing its thing and evaporating most of the liquids. You mentioned no toungue zap, so it is skin ready now. But since this is basically a castile soap, it will take a while to firm up and harden, but it will! Soap, like fine wine, only gets better with age!:smiley2:

    Hi everyone! I'm new to this forum. I have been making Goat Milk CP soap for about 9 months now. I started making candles almost 2 years ago, but have mainly stayed with CP soap and B&B products for the past 6 months or so! Just wanted to say "HI" to everyone!
