  1. This is actually my first loaf, too. I think it came out rather odd shaped. I would have liked it to be a bit taller. It measures 4" across and only 1-3/4" high...and I cut them 1" thick. The swirls were fun, though! The fragrance is Green Clover & Aloe.
  2. I placed my first order with them a few days ago and stayed within the $25 range so I can take advantage of their "Flat Rate" shipping. I hadn't known about their site until I did an extensive search for an item I was looking for...and they had it. Yes, it's unfortunate to read that they border on poor ethics because, it's true, they could very well be a primary supplier to many! I'll tread careful when I order from them again... :tiptoe:
  3. That's gorgeous! Fabulous work for it being your first one!
  4. Your blend sounds yummy! I can see where the maple would compliment this FO. I have the Pumpkin Souffle and made a few tarts out of it. I don't smell a burn smell but I'm not fond of the 'toasted' graham cracker aroma. However, everyone who has smelled them so far LOVES them.
  5. Light or medium blue combined with brown tones is very soothing. ---------------------------- www.aromafieldscandles.com
  6. If I go by their shipping rate calculations indicated on their website (based on my zip code)...YES! But I call or e-mail them first to get an exact shipping quote and it's usually a bit less. They told me that what the website indicates is only an estimate. But I like the idea of Big Lots!!! Not sure if the one in my area will carry them. Seems like the Midwest and Eastern stores carry more 'canning' products than the West.
  7. I believe the pouring temp of this wax is around 100.
  8. CandleScience has an awesome Peach. Superior throw...hot and cold!
  9. I'm secret buddy friendly, too. ---------------------------- www.aromafieldscandles.com
  10. Thanks for all the great responses and awesome link, CareBear!!
  11. I use both PayPal and ProPay. I have some customers who don't want to pay through PayPal so ProPay works for me, too. ---------------------------- www.aromafieldscandles.com
  12. Good question! I make wickless in glass jars and put the warning label on the inside of the lid for the very reason you mentioned. In the 'legal' aspect, I don't know if that's correct...but I surely don't know of any place else it could go due to the fact that it could become a fire hazard. I'll be interested in reading the posts you get! ---------------------------- www.aromafieldscandles.com
  13. I made my first goats milk bar of M&P soap the other day....my 2nd bar was M&P shea butter. These are fabulous! Now I want to PLAY!!! How much oatmeal would I add to the goats milk M&P base? And then do I need to add anything else to balance the ingredients? Do I need a blender to grind up the oatmeal? And then do I soak it in water?...if so, for how long? I've only been able to find eeensie-weensie bits and pieces on this when doing a search. TIA
  14. Wonderful! Thank you, Prairieannie! That should save me some shipping fees.
  15. I'm still learning so I apologize if this question is silly...... I purchased SFIC M&P soap base from Peaks but noticed that Green Leaf carries SFIC, also. I purchase candle wax from Green Leaf so would like to stay with one supplier, if possible but I want a really good quality M&P base. I've heard good things about Peaks M&P base. Does anyone know if one SFIC is the same as another?....would Green Leaf's SFIC M&P base be the same as Peaks? TIA
  16. I have both. Hansel & Gretel's House smells more like maple syrup to me....and Pumpkin Souffle is more of a toasted, cinnamon smell. But yes, I think there's something in them that is similar...to me, they both have notes of 'graham cracker'.
  17. CandleScience is one of my primary suppliers for FO's and I've never thought to ask for a free sample. Sheesh!
  18. I'm using CD's with this wax and I really like them. I get a clean burn with a lower FO load and a great hot throw.
  19. I've always used 6oz tins but I don't care for the new feet on the bottom. I had pre-made 'caution' labels that fit perfectly on the bottom of the 6oz tin but now with the feet, I cannot use these labels. I'll order my 6oz tins from another place next time but will inquire FIRST as to whether they come with feet. Last time I ordered the 6oz tins from CS, they were not footed and I wish their site would have indicated that the style had changed. I didn't like the 'surprise'. BUT....I DO love CandleScience's FO's!
