  1. Actually, you don't have to purchase 100 sheets at a time. Prior to adding the items to the shopping cart, choose "Other Quantity" from the "Select A Quantity" drop down menu on the page where the item your interested in resides.
  2. I'm just glad I enjoy making candles and soaps because the money I make from it really isn't worth the time involved. Gotta love it! I've certainly had much better paying careers.
  3. I so MP soap and use the Vanilla Stabilizer in my vanilla based FO's. It does keep the soap from darkening. I bought mine from BCN.
  4. I've seen tins in some of the JoAnn's Fabric stores.
  5. My wish would be for a place to make my candles other than the kitchen. Home cooked meal?.......what's that?!! santa roll
  6. I've got the same batch and was having the wet spot blues. I'm now using the "sticky stuff" and at 1.5oz pp of wax. I heat to 190, pour at 175. No wet spots. You may want to increase your "sticky stuff". HTH
  7. I use GL 70/30 and CD wicks and it's been a good combo for me. The jars I use are 2-1/2" and I use CD10's. Wonderful wax!
  8. I use Apricot from BCN and I love it!
  9. Beautiful whip on that Triangle Sunday Cup, Carole! Great looking candles...and I like your workspace, too!! WOW!
  10. Snow, I use CD's with GL 70/30 with great success. Ry, are you getting any wet spots or sink holes by the wick? I spoke with Brenda at GL and she indicated that, depending on the climate in your area, these problems may or may not occur. I'm in a warmer climate so I'm hoping I don't have the sink holes and wet spots with this new batch I just ordered. The GL 70/30 wax has been awesome to work with so far.
  11. I was about to re-order GL 70/30 and noticed the message on their site: "Current batch of 70/30 is harder due to a change in the soy crop. If you experience adhesion problems or holes by the wick, add 1% Sticky Stuff or paraffin to soften slightly." Has anyone ordered from this batch and noticing any problems? I'd like to know before I place the order so I know whether to buy their "sticky stuff", too. TIA!!
  12. I bought from someone who was selling their 8oz jj's for $4.99 each and her shipping fee was less than what I know for sure it cost! After listing and selling fees, in my mind she wasn't making any profit at all. She had many sales. I ordered from her to see what the quality was and how in the heck she could sell so cheaply. WOW! I'd be embarassed to sell a candle like that! The label was nearly ripped completely off and the appearance of the candle was as though it had sat in a garage for years. The jar was filled not quite to the level it should be but obviously sloshed while still wet to smear against the jar to cover up the 'emtpy' area, making it appear full. The scent was the best part. The feedback on this seller was mind boggling as her reviews were all positive. I agree that not all buyers are aware of what really IS a good quality candle.
  13. I use dye chips and just started using liquid dye, also. I've found that I actually need to use LESS (chips and/or liquid) in the GL 70/30 than what I use to use in EZsoy.
  14. I use Mal's and I'm pretty happy with it :-)
  15. Congratulations, Prairieannie!! How awesome! No shows for me...grand daughters coming today and spending the night. I'll be making some soaps on Sunday and I hope to get around to pouring another pillar with another Christmas fragrance. The cold throw from the Mistletoe pillar I poured last week is putting me in the holiday mood! Good luck to everyone who's having a show this weekend!
  16. Ah, there it is...the answer I was looking for. 'At's what I'm talkin' 'bout. Thank you!
  17. Hi Stella  Thanks for responding! I'm turning the candle, keeping it out of drafts and doing all that I should be doing to make for an even burn. I haven't had to do that too often, though and it's been awesome. BUT...... my "marathon burns" are done as a test to simulate what a consumer might do......a consumer who didn't know the proper way to burn a pillar. So, I light it, don't turn it and let'er rip! So, I guess my question should be: Do you make your candles geared more to the consumer who doesn't follow directions?...or do you make your candle assuming that burning instructions will be followed (i.e...keep out of drafts, turn pillar, blah, blah, zippity-doo-dah....)? Thanks again!
  18. I've been pretty pleased with the wicking I've done on my 3" pillars as I end up with a quarter inch shell and a nice, even MP. I've been letting it burn at intervals of 3 to 5 hours each time. Eventually, the quarter inch shell melts inward so that the candle consumes itself....no mess. BUT...about the 5th or 6th burn, I marathon burn (9 to 12 hours or more) and end up with a tiny burn valley on the top of one side of the shell which allows the wax to spill over. For that, would YOU have wicked down?? When I do, I'm now getting a shell that's nearly 3/4 of inch in width (after 3 hours burn time). I doubt there will be any spillage and can pretty much feel safe selling this. But it's just not as pretty of a burn and the candle will not self-consume with a shell this thick. What would YOU do???? TIA
  19. Thanks, Candlebuddy! I like the fact that the orange comes through.
  20. Hmmmmm...I use their Apple Jack & Peel and it sounds somewhat like the same notes. What do you think? Do you have their AJ&P and do you think they smell similar? TIA (again)
  21. Has anyone poured this scent yet? I've got Christmas FO's up the wazzoo and don't really need more.......BUT I love CandleScience FO's. Hold me back! .......Or not TIA
  22. CandleScience has a good French Vanilla. One of the best vanilla's I've smelled.
  23. Great link! I haven't attempted CP soap yet and having a visual is helpful! I wasn't aware of the buttermilk idea. That's good to know!
