  1. Thanks for those links. I'm out!
  2. Congrats to you. I'm working on the same thing--or at least my attorney brother is for me. I'm going with an LLC setup.
  3. Got to get a gift basket together for a door prize donation for a benefit tomorrow for a friend who is terminal. Hopefully I will have time to work on my breast cancer fundraiser candle. Got someone bringing me a load from Candle Science to save on shipping!
  4. Bev, I went to your website. The crates look really nice! Love your labels.
  5. Thanks for that link. Just might be what I'm looking for!
  6. I've found bars from a couple of years ago that I made and shrink wrapped. No problem with them and also still had good scent.
  7. I have always had really good customer service with them. However, it is my understanding that they are selling everything and only going to handle fo's. I definitely would NOT recommend buying any of their embeds. They are old, no fragrance, and discolored.
  8. Got the body glaze todayl It is awsesome. However, It tood 2 hrsl to get samples into my pet bottles.l
  9. Hey, Angel. Nothing to be ashamed about. One of the best parent-teacher nights for me was when one of the parents hung back and invited me to her house for a sex toy party. I was kinda surprised that a parent would make that move since I didn't know her on a personal level, but then I just thought, what the heck, she doesn't think I'm some uptight ass. Only one other teacher got an invite, and the rest seemed insulted that they weren't included.
  10. I get emails just about every week that say they're from paypal. Generally they either say they have noticed unusual activity or need updates. They also say I will lose priviliges until I take care of the matter. I forward everything to spoof@paypal.com and do not go any further. Every time I have done this, I get a response right away saying that they have it. Then later I get an email saying that they have determined it is NOT from them and they are investigating. The problem with ripoffs has gotten so bad that I only access my paypal from the ebay website since ebay owns paypal. That being said, I have had several irritating incidents dealing with Paypal. They are awful about responding to questions. Unfortunately, you got ripped off by a thief that probably makes a habit of doing that sort of thing. It never ceases to amaze me how many people out there just blatantly steal without the slightest conscience. What does the thief have to say about it all? Any response from him/her? I think people like that should be publicly identified--just like how some places post bad checks at their registers!
  11. I have to wonder about her saying she'll put in a good word with the school district. I know it's different from district to district and state to state, but I've taught for over 30 yrs. and there is no one single person who makes decisions about fundraisers. Each group (cheerleaders, FBLA, ROTC, Band, etc) has a faculty advisor. The individual groups decide on fundraisers and then apply for the permission. Usually it's just a rubber stamp procedure done through the principal but filed in the district office. All teachers and club advisors get tons of stuff on fundraisers to choose from. If you know some teachers, ask them what the procedure is in your area. Just in case she does have some clout, look elsewhere. We've done candles for March of Dimes, etc. locally. Also, if you know someone in the VFW Ladies Aux, give them a pitch. We do fundraisers for something EVERY month in our chapter. My vote is to go with dirty man and be creative. It will definitely be more fun that being on your p's and q's with the self-appointed smut police.
  12. What a hoot, Mindy! Personally, I'd stick with dirty man. He'll probably more than make up for Miss High and Mighty's business and be a lot less trouble! Even the snootiest of the snootiest in my ladies aux love Sex on the Beach, Monkey Farts, and Lick Me All Over. They snicker and turn red like they've done something deliciously wicked when sniffing those candles! The little 80-yr old ladies are the best buyers of Pina Colada.
  13. Is this what you're talking about? http://www.candleandsoapstuff.com/Suppliers_by_State.html I got this from this forum. However, it's definitely not complete. If someone has a better one, please post it.
  14. I'm thinking about drastic measures now. They kept diving in my wine glass last night! However, the suckers did drown, but I had to keep pouring out so much that I barely got a buzz myself! Time for action.
  15. Yes, I originally ordered from Laura on ebay and was very happy with the quality of her embeds. I contacted her from her website about a bulk order, and I couldn't have asked for friendlier service! She has really worked with me. My order is on the way, and I know that I will be happy. There won't be that disappointment when I open her box. You should see the wacky color of "peaches" that the ebay lunatic sent. Yukk
  16. Well, folks, I put bleach down the drains last night. This a.m. when I went in to make coffee they were there! Hovering around a pour pot that had chocolate scent in it.
  17. I did a search and knew right away that I was dealing with a nut job. No one would make those. I read about what they are, and it wasn't flattering to the plant! Honestly, I think she did that on purpose. Well, live and learn. Guess I'll get some kind of mold and melt them down and make something worthwhile with them. If anyone thinks of anything better, let me know. I've generally dealt with nice sellers on ebay. This one just has a screw loose. Snowberries???? Ha Ha!
  18. I ordered a 5 lb. mix fruit lot from an ebay seller. I read her fb before I bid and it was low. Compaints about just about everything. However, it was an auction with a very low start price. Most of the neg fb was a while back, so I thought maybe she would be on her toes trying to pull it up. WRONG. Not only was her shipping very slow, she ignored emails. I got the mix today. Opening a box of embeds is usually such a pleasure. I could barely smell anything. There were some strawberries, peaches, raspberries, and blackberries. Fine. However, the rest were these putrid yellowish greenish things that looked like mini blueberries. Also some very pale red, not pink, of the same thing. No scent. The putrid yellowish ones were labeled snowberries. Any idea what she had in mind?? Is she just po'd because no one bid against me?? She shouldn't be--she burned me on the shipping. I knew I was making the right move by switching to Laura at tropicalbreeze! What do I do with snowberries????? They are not scented.
  19. Had a hard time with that, too. My last name IS Chandler. Coincidence?
  20. There is NOTHING edible in there. I've been using the kitchen for strictly candles and soap this week. Been eating out. Have a couple of snacks in the fridge. I've cleaned all countertops with Clorox Kleanup and also kept the trash can sprayed with bug spray. No windows open. I live in an old house and none of them will open anyway. Don't want to. Hot as hell here. I started thinking it is the candles because I have left a couple of pots not washed out. I also noticed them in a room where I was test burning a cherry scented soy candle. I just went in the kitchen for some water and it looked like a swarm of gnats. I'm not smelling but candle scents. Otherwise I'd think maybe another one of those damn gators crawled up in the yard with something. Maybe I am a banana? Or am I having a blonde week?
  21. Congratulations!! Sure looks like you've been busy. I wish you all the best in this endeavor. :highfive:
  22. I would love to attend something, somewhere, sometime. How do you find out when and where conventions are held? I've done a couple of searches, but most of the time I end up spending all my time going to sites that list past conventions. Any suggestions?
  23. For the past couple of weeks, I have been making mostly candles with food scents. I have done next to NO cooking of food and have no food on any counters. Any snacks, etc. are in the refrigerator. The trash is taken out daily but very seldom has any food scraps. Every time I go into the kitchen there are little flying gnats or something like that everywhere. I have cleaned the counters with bleach, sprayed the trash can with Raid, and taken other above average precautions. Could they be attracted to the fragrance oils? I know bugs are stupid, but I would think they would figure it out. Has anyone else ever heard of this? It is really "bugging" me!!
  24. www.aromahaven.com or www.rusticescentuals.com Both are the same.
  25. I ordered the goat milk body glaze from KY this a.m. Gonna give it a try. I already got a notice from UPS that it's on the way and will be here on Monday. I had a hard time choosing between that and the WSP goat milk and honey. Might try that one next. I am hoping someone in Columbia will check out the Chemistry Store for me. If it's worth it, I'll just do a day trip. I didn't see Goat Milk on their site, though.
