  1. I subscribed to your channel I liked the first video I saw so much. You do great YT videos.
  2. Embrace them and don't worry about them. The only people who care about them are candle makers, and even if you could prevent them in a couple candles, chances are you wouldn't be able to prevent them in all candles, and changes in temp, environment, etc., will most likely make them (re)appear anyway... For me in the years I've been doing this I've learned it really is just not worth the stress to even care about them. I hardly notice them now, and none of my customers have ever once even mentioned anything about them.
  3. The only thing I know about Canola Oil is that it is prone to DOS, (so I've heard, but I've never used it). A better sub (IMO) to Olive Oil is RBO (Rice Bran Oil)
  4. I still have trouble with multi-quotes, so no worries. Try it out first, you may like it with the courser salts. And when blending/grinding only do enough for the batch you will be using it in, that way if you don't like the finer salts, you haven't "ruined" your entire batch of salts.
  5. For a true orange, I mix orange oxide with a small bit of TKB's neon orange. Works great.
  6. Keep a list of the ones you want. About twice a year or so, Peak has a 40% off sample sale, and it seems like it should be coming up pretty soon. When it does, I'm sure somebody will post it. They also have 15% off all FO's quite often.
  7. EO? No, at least that is not a mix. If you happen to find one, I'd like to know.
  8. If they are glass, I hand wash, then boil them so I can reuse them if I want to give away something to someone, or if I want to do a small mix to see what it will smell like. If they are plastic, I just toss them.
  9. You could probably grind it to get it finer - however, I'm not sure how well that would work, as I've never done it before.
  10. I'm glad the tips worked... I think they look absolutely gorgeous!
  11. I get a LOT of my soapmaking tools at the Dollar Tree. Love that place when it comes to tools. I don't line my PVC, but it's a dry climate here and my recipe is a pretty hard one, so for me, it's not needed, but that's a good idea for lining!
  12. And to answer your other question, my favorite FO suppliers are Peak and Nature's Garden. However, there are so many GREAT fragrance suppliers out there, it's always worth it to get samples from different places (even of the same scent to compare) Before you know it, you will have hundreds of FO's. LOL (ask me how I know - )
  13. Ohhh, now that I re-read it, that makes more sense. If that's the case, then as kandlekrazy said, yes, any candle safe FO can be used in any wax. However, just because it can be used, doesn't necessarily mean it will work well. Almost every scent I've ever used in my paraffin blends have worked great. I don't use soy, but have heard that wax is a little more picky, and not ever scent works great in it. Also, now that I'm heavy into bath and body products, I (usually) only buy skin safe FO's so they can be used in all applications. HTH
  14. I'm confused also. I've never used he same FO in every candle I make. I'm not sure if that's exactly what you mean. Can you clarify, so we can answer you correctly?
  15. There are so many FB groups, it might just be easier to search them by category - do a "Bath and Body groups" or "Cosmetics groups" search. Many many come up under each category.
  16. Did it work for you? I have Mad Oil's TD that I've used in my last 4-5 batches and have had no problems. You may have to go back to TKB's just for ease of use at to what you are used to doing.
  17. I did floating candles for my cousins wedding years ago, but they were not typical floating candles. They were made in a bowl and were about 6 inches wide and 4 inches deep with 3 wicks in each. They were gorgeous lit up floating around the swimming pool during the outdoor wedding. If I can get any pics from her, I'll post them, but she has since divorced, and I don't have the pics, so not sure how easy it would be to get them. Those were the only ones I've ever made and the only request I ever had for any. If I were to do them, I'd do them as special order only, so I don't think they are really worth it.
  18. Just stumbled across this, if anyone is interested in making their own molds and has a Lowe's near them. (or Home Depot or any hardware store really , it's just sponsored by Lowe's) http://www.lowes.com/creative-ideas/woodworking-and-crafts/easy-to-make-soap-molds/project
  19. Yes, it can. I've used it in my peppermint salt bars for winter. (in the mold you gave me! )
  20. How thick was your batter when you poured? Sometimes when it's at a very thick trace, no matter how much you pound down there will be air bubbles. I don't see any air bubbles, but I do see what looks like stearic spots. I get them a lot. Do you have oils high in stearic? BTW - they look beautiful!!
  21. I love their Forever Red. It fades just a touch in CP but not enough to make me not keep it. It smells almost identical to B&BW's Forever Red also. I got it because that perfume is my daughters favorite. I like it and would recommend it.
  22. And now I'm blushing. Thank you everyone. I will do my best.
  23. I ended up doing nothing of note, except I made dinner - pizza rolls. (like cinnamon rolls but with pizza ingredients) that's as crafty as I got today...
  24. If I run across one, I'll let you know.
