Wow those are great looking candles. Using a lightbox sure makes a difference to taking shots of your candles. The pics are not too busy and show of the candles perfectly. The pyramid candle is beautiful, just the two colours, it looks very classy. I love the "smooth" rustics you have there, the swirling technique is certainly worth getting the hang of. I am doing rustics in tin moulds at the moment and get a real texture/frosting on them, (a lot stays in the mould though), and when I use the aluminium moulds I get more of a smooth look. Well done on the order and keep posting what you have finished.:smiley2:

What do you use to hold your tilted Pillars?

I use an old baking pan which I cover with a deep layer of uncooked rice. I cover the rice with some paper towel and then squish the mould down at an angle into it - it holds them real steady. I have been pouring into 12" triangle oblique moulds this past weekend and have not had one topple over. I always pour my last layer with the mould standing up straight on the table, so I don´t get wax all over the rice.:smiley2: -
Hi all, just a quick question. I received a bag of soy wax in pellet form and if I want to mix some of my straight paraffin wax into it to make a blend, (say 60% para & 40% soy), do I need to add stearic and uv as well to this mix? Thanks.

I have only ever seen the very vibrant glass glow colours, and could never have imagined what it would look like without it. Thanks for posting this picture. Very nice candle and container.

That is a very unique, interesting looking candle. I think it is a fascinating look, especially as you did not use the "wire brush" technique and it is smooth to the touch. Wow. It also looks like a very potent homebrew special with a little bit of froth on the top!

Those are really pretty candles. If I was in a shop and saw them I would stop dead in my tracks, they are increadibly eye catching. I would probably buy a few too! Fantastic job.

Those are some awesome looking truffles. I don´t even think I could bring myself to melt them. That is so typical of men/boys not wanting chocolate, my DH can have one square of a choc bar and put the rest away "for later"! Will be looking forward to seeing your site, I think you have spent a lot of time getting your product line just right and I hope you have much success with it.

Donita, all those canes look beautiful as always. Using them with fuel cells in a restaurant is a brill idea. To be honest, never heard of the things! Are they delivered already filled with fuel, or can you put your own oil in? Thanks.

I could not resist buying some very cute insect t-lite holders from Yankee, they came with a box of scented green apple t-lites and I was so not impressed with these. No throw, and they kinda looked terrible as well. Before I started making my own melts, I used to buy them from Yankee, and they did have a good throw.

Hi Sabrina I have not been able to be on the board for a while and have been reading throught some posts. I looked in the Supplier Abbreviation List but did not see this Bert´s oils. Very unusual, but certainly eyecatching. I have no imagination when it comes to tarts, I cannot even be bothered to do the two tone thing. Always learning something different here on the CT board.:smiley2: Just not enough time to try them all.

Thanks Vicky - I had to go to a meeting at a friend´s house tonight and she had about 10 store bought ball candles burning. They were spilling over, had huge flames (because she does not trim the wicks), and some were even flattening out a bit, so I had a good look at them. I am testing another wick now which, cross fingers, is looking good.

Hi, was wondering if anyone has success making and burning 3" ball candles. Could someone advise how a ball candle is supposed to burn - does anyone have any pics they could share? The ones I have been making and testing all seem to burn very well at first then the melt pool gets too big and they kinda "flatten" out. Looks weird. Also when the melt pool gets very close to the bottom of the candle, the base seems to get quite warm and even a bit of wax can start to ooze from the wick hole area - how far down do people burn ball candles? I am using straight paraffin, stearin, and 5% FO. Thanks for any help.:smiley2:

Congratulations on a wonderful product. I just want to "ditto" what has been said before - very classy and a wonderful look. Honestly, I don´t know how you manage to do all that you do, as you are so helpful to people on this board as well. Thanks for the info about wicking, especially as it took a lot of trial and error on your part.

Does anyone know where I can find a picture of a flame to paste onto photographs of my candles. I tried to crop, cut and paste a flame off one of my own candles, but wow what a performance, and it never really worked. If on the other hand you have instructions or tips on how I may be able to use a pic of my own flame, then this would be much appreciated. Thanks

Hi, thanks for the reply, but no definately not wicking these - I would not like to burn wax in a plastic container like this. I just want to put a bit of extra wax in them when pouring my candles and I thought it would be easier to take off a lid to sniff the fragrance rather than opening a bag and taking out a melt etc.

I recently purchased a small amount of these mixing cups and wondered if I could pour scented wax into them. I want to use them as "sniffies", so that customers can get an idea of what a particular scent smells like. Forgot to check the number on the bottom before purchasing and these have a "6" printed inside the triangle on the bottom of the cup - are these cups then ok to use for the above application. Thanks very much.
