  1. I believe candle wic has a sun ripened raspberry
  2. Yes, same lot I had. Looked exactly the same. From what others here have been saying, I believe there is a problem with soy wax and I'm thinking the soy is creating the yellowish wax. We haven't changed our wicking any. Cure time does seem to take a little longer than normal. If you're not coloring your wax, you'll notice the finished product is not it's usual pure white with most oils you use...most of our candles are coming out slightly yellow.
  3. I might be completely wrong, but In all honesty, I really don't think there is anyone that will light a candle once and leave it burn to the end. We mainly do 16oz jar candles. I couldn't imagine testing a 16oz jar this way. That sucker would burn probably 3 days straight. As it is now we have ours where we can go about 10 -11 hours before it needs to be blown out and wick trimmed. Personally, I think that is dangerous advice to be giving people. Just my opinion.
  4. I'm thinking more soy was thrown into the batch than normal. According to the label on the boxes from IGI it was made on April 13, 2017. So definitely not old wax. I just don't think IGI has great quality control practices in place when blending wax. Not the first time I've had issues. Last year I ordered several cases from CS and the wax was cracking inside the jars. I believe someone else on here was having the same issue with 6006 at the time.
  5. Bulk Apothecary. Shipping is much cheaper for me, plus they almost always have 15% off orders of $250 or more.
  6. I know there has been issues with this wax in the past. I just got three cases in (Lot # T1701202 Manufacturing date 4/13/17) and it's definitely not consistent with the way it normally is. Very yellowish color to the wax. Made a few test candles from the batch and none seem to be burning like they normally do. Having a hard time reaching the sides of the container and scent throw after 24 hours is not as strong as it normally is with 6006. If I had to venture to guess I think they may have thrown more soy in the batch. Just a heads up to anyone else using 6006 to watch out for this particular batch. Might have to consider going with candlewic's parasoy blend CBL-130 moving forward. Hoping the consistency and quality control is better with Candlewic than it is at IGI.
  7. NG Beach Bum smells exactly like Hawaiian Tropic sun tan lotion.
  8. We currently carry the scent, but will be discontinuing it...not a big seller.
  9. Most of the scents we carry are from reviews on this board. We'll read reviews on the suppliers site, but take those with a grain of salt....especially one in particular.
  10. Yeah, I never post in them either.
  11. Lol...it can be nauseating reading those Facebook groups.
  12. I don't think many on the Facebook groups have tried very many suppliers to know the difference. Brent from Tennessee had a great grip on that crowd too. It's genius
  13. Got several samples...not impressed. Many never made it to wax and the ones that did were either weak or "fake" smelling. Got to give him credit though, he has quite a grip on the Facebook crowd.

  15. Been searching this morning, but coming up with nothing. I've seen the cheap looking wire ones and came across these too. http://www.michaels.com/mason-jar-black-star-hanging-lid-by-ashland/10389628.html#pmpt=qualifying&sz=24&start=4 Milk house candle and mccall's probably have their own manufacturer that imports from China
  16. Might they be called bail handles?
  17. If I remember right my wife had a few of those lids hanging around several years ago (she owns an online primitive country store/website) and we tried them but they didn't work. Not enough air got down into the jar and the flame would get very small and in some cases the flame would just extinguish. These from Yankee work great. http://www.yankeecandle.com/product/scroll-collection/_/R-1508077
  18. I get the dancing flame also. Same wick, wax and jar. Never had anyone complain about it yet, and have sold hundreds. When burning candles in our house we use the yankee candle flat toppers that go on top of the jar...makes a word of difference in keeping the flame upright. Would love to be able to get those toppers wholesale to sell as a add on for the candles. Yankee sells them for $10 each, no room for mark up at that price.
  19. I have heard the same about Maple Street's scents being similar to TCS. I have only tried a couple samples, which seemed very good. Actually MS business model seems very similar to what TCS had...not necessarily a bad thing. He sure does have quite a following on facebook thats for sure.
  20. If I didn't get a sink hole in my candles I would be scared I did something wrong! I once made a tester with with no sink hole...after letting it sit, I lit it up and within a minute the wick tunneled down halfway down the jar. There was a tin layer of hardened wax covering the sink hole (air pocket). Now if I didn't get a sink hole I would be poking a skewer into the candle to make sure there was no air pocket!
  21. I've tried northwoods Christmas and did like that one. Haven't tried any of the others yet. Definitely will try frasier fir and mistletoe (thank you bfroberts!). I agree, I'm sure there is an exact or near exact match to under the tree somewhere out there... as long as I can get close it should be fine. Will give the mistletoe a shot. Thanks!
  22. Thanks for the response. Might be worth getting duped. I will try CS Frasier fir. Could use another good pine scent. Thanks again!
  23. Trapper, Have you ever used TCS Under The Tree? Pine type of scent...would like to find a replacement as it is a huge seller for us fall and winter (probably would be year around).
  24. Goldie, Try Grandma's Cupboard from RE. I think it's spot on or at least very close to TCS Pumpkin Souffle
  25. No, never tried any other toasted marshmallow. There are so many different scents out there, where if one doesn't work we just move onto something else. Made a grandmas cupboard this morning. Smells just like TCS pumpkin soufflé. Nutty and earthy. Not a big fan, but would make a good fall scent. Might have about 4-5 out of the 20 we'll add to our line.
