  1. I remember that you used them, and I know Lisa does too. I hope it is just Fillmore. I know how frustrating it can be to test and test only to be forced to switch jars. Good luck!
  2. I know some of you on here use the Studio jars from AH, and you may already know this, but Filmore lists them as being discontinued!! Also the Morgan jars. http://www.fillmorecontainer.com/dept.asp?deptID=3
  3. As Stella said, some more details would be helpful. I have had this happen to me several times before. Even though the flames looked like they were about to die, I still had a deep melt pool. Are you sure you have given the candle enough time to set up fully? (I ask because I have been impatient at times and burned too soon). Also, those are some hot burning wicks and since you have mostly paraffin, you may need to switch to a cooler burning wick. I find CDs and HTPs both burn hot (no exp. w/ cottons). Paper core and zinc should (I believe) both burn cooler. HTH, Jenn
  4. If u achieved that in 3 hour burns, I wouldn't wick up!! Those cubes are cute...good job!
  5. Love that jar!! Are they double-wicked? I can't tell from the pics. Great job!
  6. I use liquid dye and I use 5 drops red and 2 drops brown. It is more red than burgundy, but I like it for Cranberry marmalade.
  7. Very cute Carrie! Love the dog bowls! Can't see the pic of your shop though.
  8. I use and LOVE Snowtop's baked apples too...wouldn't change. But for a different apple scent, I really love Apples & Berries by Cajun.
  9. Lisa, I am green with envy! Your candles rock...I haven't seen one of your pics that I don't love! Those plum/burgundy just blow me away!:highfive: Jenn
  10. I really like this jar...boy it is some thick heavy glass! These are blackberry sage, vanilla bliss, cranberry marmalade and pumpkin custard spice. Now if I could just get up the nerve to try some of those gorgeous palm pillars Lisa and others have posted!! Thanks for lookin', Jenn
  11. Thanks Stella! hey, don't you sleep? It's 4:30 in the morning where you are!!!
  12. Does anyone know what size zinc would be comparable to an RRD 34? Thanks, Jenn
  13. Sorry...guess I could have been more descriptive! The wicks are dying out and when I blow them out (or they flames die out themselves), the ends of the wicks are whitish-gray. I'll try to take a pic and post it. But I cannot imagine that I need a bigger size, because it is a 5 oz bulb jar that is approx. 2-1/2".
  14. I am playing around with some zinc wicks in CBL129 and having some trouble. I am using some Bittercreek wicks from a sample pack I bought in the classy's a while back, and the 44 series is turning ashy. I have no idea what this means...help!
  15. Nice!! Love the bulb jar with that lid. What kind of wax?
  16. I don't know what to say Becky...except that if anything my cold throw is phenomenal and I have to work harder to get the hot throw. But once you get an FO that will throw, it THROWS! I should say, though, that I am using Glass Glow. Could it be your method?? I don't prewarm my oil, but is it possible that it is getting too hot and burning off some of the fragrance before it even gets to see the wax? Sounds like you are mixing well and the wax temp seems fine. I don't know, just a thought. I'm sure some wiser folks will chime in. Good luck. I hope you get it figured out.
  17. My one "CANDLEMAKING" Christmas wish would be that I would guess the right size/type wick on my FIRST test burn!!!!
  18. I experienced the same thing when attempting to wick a 3" tumbler. I ended up with a great burn in a double-wicked rectangle jar so I stuck with that. I'll try to post pics of the jar in the Gallery...the have been turning out quite nicely and 2 CSN7s make for nice comfortable sized flames.
  19. Damn girl, you have the most beautiful candles! Every time I look at one of your pics I am more and more impressed!!
  20. So professional!!! I don't know what you are going to charge for them, but maybe it would make sense to make a larger package and sell several ounces of tarts in it? that way you would be making fewer packages and people would be willing to pay more for more, KWIM? Great job!!
  21. Kim, Hope the 55 works for you! I hate to use such a big wick...I actually prefer double wicking on the wider jars because I despise big fat wicks, but the jar was too hot to the touch no matter what two wicks I used (except zinc...had no luck with them in this wax). Trying some cds too, just to see what happens. And one of these days I am gonna try some CDNs cuz Stella just won't stop talking about 'em! (jk Stella:wink2: ) Jenn
