  1. Yup, Peak's, but I prefer the Sugared Spruce. I guess straight pine/spruce doesn't appeal to me.
  2. I am fairly certain that stella and bugtussle have both been making them for a while too. hth
  3. I second H&G....so fabulous!!!
  4. I think Lisa, Jakalex, has been making glass glow containers since the wax first came out...I would check her out!
  5. Chuck, Did you warm your jars or pour into room temp jars? Did the CO change your wicking much?
  6. Interesting...how long ago did you pour them. Did you test for scent throw yet?
  7. I decided to try mixing some 464 into my J223. I started at 15%. I want to keep it mostly paraffin but was hoping to help improve the appearance a bit (creamier look, hopefully wet spots) and help cut down sooting. I poured a tester with Amish harvest in 8 oz apothecary with zinc wicks. Looks really nice (a few wet spots but nothing like the 223 alone) and burned extremely well. So far not a bit of soot! I poured another one with cd wicks just to compare the scent throw, but looking at the burn with the zincs, the cds will have to do a lot to impress me!! Anyone else work with a mix of J223 and 464? Jenn
  8. Yeah, Hansel & Gretel is a love love and I don't wick up in J223 either. People go crazy over this scent!!
  9. I hope it works..."mountain air" reminded me of the meadow and sitting in the tree tops! And sandalwood is so sultry...definitely sexy and, well, 'nuff said!! LMK how you like it...I am so intrigued by your idea!
  10. Based on the suggestions of some folks on the veggie wax board, I tried a blend of J223 and GW 464. I poured my first tester of it yesterday. I want mostly paraffin so I tried an 85% (223) and 15% (464) mix. I poured at 150 into a clean room temp 10 oz apothecary jar. I must say it set up very well--nice flat top and much better adhesion than 223 alone. CT is great...we'll see how HT does in a day or so.
  11. I was on Just Scent site looking at ordering some pumpkin fo's and I saw this one...Flannel Sheets. Like the description (but never smelled it myself): Flannel Sheets Your sheets have been hanging outside, you bring them in and with it the clean fresh smell of the sun! Not your normal "laundry" type! Tangy Lemon, mandarin orange, mountain air, cotton blossoms, sheer violet, sweet cyclomen, dew kissed lily, pink jasmine and soothing sandalwood. Excellent in soy and safe for bath and body!
  12. I am no photography expert but i wanted to say that I just love your candles!!
  13. Thanks everyone for all of your replies!! I am going to get a sampler, and I see you guys added some pumpkins that I didn't even see at first glance. So pumpkin fudge torte smells like BCS Pumpkin Cheesecake...what does JS Pumpkin Cheesecake smell like?? And frosted pumpkin...sounds delicious! Pricier than alot of the other js oils...is it strong?
  14. I often try adding brown before black...the black sometimes changes the color as opposed to deepening the red (at least in my experience).
  15. Just wanted to say that I think it is the CUTEST idea for teen/tween gifts! (Oh and us Twilight Moms too) Can't wait for New Moon!!!!!!!!!!! :yay:
  16. IMO, the absolute best fall scent is Peaks Amish Harvest! It SCREAMS warm and cozy!
  17. Just to follow up... I emailed C&S a few weeks back. Krystal got back to me asking me exactly what happened and then she got back to me stating that Cindy thought it sounded possible that I did get something other than J225. She asked me to bring in what was left of my slab and also to bring in the candles I had trouble with. I finally did that yesterday, and they agreed that it probably wasn't J225. They said maybe I got J50. They replaced the whole slab for me! I was happy with the way they handled it for me. Now to play with the new wax and see what kind of results I get! Jenn
  18. Hi everyone! I haven't ordered from JS in a while and I see they have quite a few pumpkin scents!! Any input on these: Pumpkin Vanilla Creme Pumpkin and Pralines Pumpkin Harvest Cake Pumpkin Cheesecake Pumpkin Patchouli Pumpkin Spice Latte Pumpkin Fudge Torte (think they should offer a pumpkin sampler!) Did somebody recently mention a pumpkin 12 step program...sign me up!
  19. I don't use the 6006 either but I LOVE LOVE hansel & gretel's house...it is a huge favorite.
  20. Thanks everyone... I got the kids settled and then jumped in the shower. That seemed to help, although when I took my shirt off I noticed that I had red welts all across my stomach where the oil had splashed on my shirt!!! It did sting, but eventually it subsided and the redness is pretty much gone now. Whew... Better be more careful next time! Last time it was a vanilla and it didn't sting at all.
  21. This surprisingly is only the second time this has ever happened to me! I was getting ready to pour some OT Ol' South Pumpkin Pie and the oils come with little red inserts in the neck of the bottle to prevent leakage (great idea but damn if I know how to get em out easily). Anyway, I ended up spilling/splashing some oil on my left arm (and the counter and the floor). I washed my arm right away but it is bright red and starting to welt up. I don't have any aloe. Any suggestions? It hurts!! Jenn
  22. Maven, It's not what you asked for that would bother anyone, but rather how you asked for it. Yes, you are right that it is frustrating to see abbreviations. If you search for ST (snowtop, by the way, which is now sold at ICS - Indiana Candle Supply), you will get an error message. I doubt everyone that posts in the Fragrance section is going to put a web addy next to every fo they post or reply about. But if the name is spelled instead of abbreviated, you can find it with little or no trouble, so maybe we could try doing that more often. By the way, Tri-State is listed in the Sticky thread, on the second post where Sara added additional companies. Good luck, Jenn PS-If there is something you have a question about, you could always try PM'ing the OP (original poster) to ask them for more detailed information. Most on this board are GREAT about responding.
  23. Yes, canongirl, I do mean the 225. I currently use 223 and I am trying out the 225, but either it is NOTHING like they claim or I got the wrong wax. It is definitely not J223 that they gave me, I know that because it is harder, more yellow, and sets up differently. I have never used J50 but I wonder if it could be that. I called them twice, and the second time I asked them if they could have given me the wrong wax. Of course they said no. That is when they said to try 1 oz pp and pour into room temp jars. The slab cost twenty dollars, which is fine if I got what I expected, but not okay with me if I got something other than what I ordered. This wax is leaking Cinnamon Buns at 1.25 oz pp, and leaking it within a day...J223 can hold this, so I have to believe this can't be J225. I was curious if anyone else who tried the 225 found it to be this way, or did it really hold more? Thanks everyone. Guess I am off to fight with C&S...
