  1. Geez...it'll get deleted? I figured it would be ok to post what I got since I wasn't talking about the sale. Sorry mods, if I did something wrong!
  2. Glad everyone's liking their new stuff~~ Deb, wrigley's gum?? I wasn't expecting that! But ya got me excited about brandied pear!
  3. Okay, I am on a TIGHT budget right now but I had to get a FEW samples, so here's what I narrowed it down to. I have read MANY good things about a lot of these FOs so I can't wait till they get here! Violet Lime 1 oz. Very Vanilla 1 oz. Strudel and Spice 1 oz. Sex on the Beach 1 oz. Mango Papaya 1 oz. Himalayan Bamboo 1 oz. Creme Brulee 1 oz. Brandied Pear 1 oz. Black Currant and Nectarine 1 oz. Apples and Maple Bourbon 1 oz. Spiced Wassail 1 oz.
  4. :tiptoe: do it, do it, do it:tiptoe:
  5. I have been eyeing these up for a while and have been testing some comfort blend in an 11 oz. Tried an eco 8 but had lots of hang-up...can't go to a 10 because I was getting a dancing flame that was getting a little big toward the end of the burns. Put in a 51Z but only did 1 burn so far. Hang-up but not as much as the eco8. Anyone have success? Thanks! Jenn
  6. Dee, Were you using the 9 oz or the larger jar? I like these too!
  7. I think the flared look nicer but I sometimes have to SHOVE them in my tight-fitting votive cups.
  8. I posted this morning about the candlescience sale and a few I'd like to try and now it's gone...MODS??
  9. Stunning!! I think it is very chic-looking! I bet it would be great in a blue, but I would love it in a brown!
  10. Thanks everybody! It did turn out pretty well for an experiment! Carol, thanks for letting me know...I will have to check out that co-op.
  11. Hi everyone...just wanted to post a couple of pics of something new I tried today. I love the gorgeous forever palm pillars you all make, but since I don't do pillars, I got to thinking that I could do one with my Glass Glow! The melt point is higher than the starburst & feather palm according to CS website, so I thought it would be worth a try. Plus I had 12 of these pretty and nearly un-wickable jars sitting around. I couldn't find any glass tealight holders at my craft store, so I used an oyster cup. Where do you get your glass tealight holders? I think it would look much better. Also, don't mind the repour line...I didn't have the glass cup sitting low enough so I did a little repour, which unfortunately is pretty visible. Think some moms I know might be getting these for Mother's Day! Thanks for lookin'... Jenn
  12. Trapp, Thanks for posting...MOST of us really like to hear what works for others. Thereasa, Really, why do you find it necessary to post to things that bother you so? Why not just ignore the post? Trapp is new and has been asking questions and getting help from others on the board, so she probably thought that it would be nice to "give back" a little. Looks like someone else said it right, you jumped the gun without reading the post...she wasn't asking anything, just sharing.
  13. Hey CB~ I don't know anythign about comfort blend, but I wanted to say good luck with it! Glad to hear you are having such great results so far and can't wait to read more about it! Good luck! Jenn
  14. 51z's did better, and I threw in some 44P's to see because I thought (heat-wise) they would be in between the zinc and the coreless wicks. The paper wicks got a full melt pool really fast but with miniscule flames. So, I am thinking that some of these wicks just aren't allowing the wax and Fo to flow fast enough to fuel the flame? Does that sound right? So I should maybe try smaller wicks designed for veggie and viscous wax like RRD or ECO, or maybe I should cut back on the FO, or maybe both (I kind of went for overkill with 9%). Any thoughts?? Does it sound like my thought process is making sense? Jenn
  15. I finally found the right soy wax and right % to add to my paraffin...nice tops on second pour, awesome hot and cold throw (even better as a blend than before), but now the wicking. The soy % is only 20% and it is 415. 44-24z's double-wicked in a 10 oz seamless apothecary worked great before the addition of soy. Same wicks nearly drowned on my 1st test burn last night with the blend. I have 51s and just threw them in to try later today, although that seems like a lot of wick for a mostly paraffin blend in this jar. I have a ton of other wicks, but I was afraid the jar would get too hot if I double-wick with some of the hotter wicks like RRD's HTP's and Eco's. I don't want to single-wick this, even if I could...I really hate big fat wicks. I guess that 20% of soy makes a big difference!!!
  16. I found this "lantern jar" the other day on evergreencandleworks.com...love this jar! They have some other pretty things too on their site.
  17. which soy plays nicely? Have you found that certain soys work better than others when mixing? Thanks, Jenn
