  1. I am trying to use up all my waxes but never had much success with votives so I'm thinking about using the votive wax in jelly jars or some other kind of container. Anybody ever attempt this? Any thoughts? Thanks ~L
  2. Thanks, I checked it out but no more soy whipped body butter base.
  3. Does anybody know if Green Leaf is still around? I can't find there website. I love they're soy whipped body butter base but wonder if anyone knows of where to get a good comparison? Thanks
  4. Okay how many of you have a ton of partial oils, samples, unpopular, even stinky oils in your cabinet? I know I did. I separated all the above into categories, bakery, floral, fruit, etc and mix 'em together and will come up with some non-descript name like Floral Bouquet, Country Kitchen or whatever. And actually they smell really good and believe me I've got enough to make it worth my while to test. Just thought I'd share.
  5. Right now I use MC soy lotion base but came across the Candlemakers store. I couldn't find the ingrediants on their website. To anyone who uses it, are there ingrediants listed and what are they? Thanks
  6. Can somebody help me come up with a color for my Spiced Cranberry? Everytime I try to get a cranberry color I come up with some puke. I know this scent would fly off the shelf if I could get it to look nice. I've got lots of different flake dyes and liquid dyes but no cranberry. HELP I DON'T WANT PINK!
  7. I am so sick of ruining batches of candles with these putred colors that come out for greens and reds. Is this seem weird to just make white, antique white, tan, creme, color candles? What about scents like apples, and pines? And things like Bayberry..Do you make them white? Just seems kinda weird but I am going to get over it!! I can get yellows, lavenders, and I even have one shade of green that's nice but red.....never happens. I use pure soy wax from MC which I believe is gb 415 and I'm not about to switch. Any input is appreciated.
  8. Thank you that is awesome using the measuring spoons. That would be so much easier. I need to study that website and find where that conversion table is. Very very helpful. Thank you
  9. I figured I better start a whole new thread instead of adding on to the previous cuz I want this to get attention. I called Green Leaf today and asked how long the butter is going to be out of stock and they said they are re-formulating it and it could be a while. I love this stuff, anybody know why they are re-formulating? I guess I should have asked when I was on the phone but I was too busy crying:( It's always a crisis with me...if it isn't one thing its another. I;m getting frustrated with this whole thing. The other thing I wanted to add regarding the ratio of FO to add to this is, they said 1 - 2% per gallon. I was trying to mix a couple of jars..... about 14 oz and I have added 75 drops of fo AND NO SCENT. I can't possibly add more for fear it will break down. What is my problem.....could it possibly be my dropper? I am using a medicine type dropper bought at Walmart. Is that too small? What kind of droppers do y'all use. Anyway I probably should have started on new post on that one so if anyone answers this I truly appreciate you reading all this blaterhing.
  10. This is the chart I used and it wasn't enough!! Are different formulas and bases different? They must be.
  11. I love this stuff too but I need help knowing how much fo to put in smaller batches. If I'm just making 4 to 12 oz at a time (sometimes) how many drops of fo do I use? I used 35 drops in a 14 oz batch and I could not smell it. I added 15 more drops and I'm letting it sit a little bit in hopes that is better. I do no want to over do it and break down the butter. Usually I make bigger batches and I can then weigh a 1/2 to ounce of oil specifically. So if anyone can help me with this I would appreciate it. I did look on Greenleafs website for instruction and emailed them with a question but didn't hear back. TIA
  12. And you have to figure out your market and how to get it to them. Your biggest market of course would be in the baby aisle. Where do you plan on marketing this? Again, depending on the ingrediants and their affect, you could market to a very large market of people who need this for medicinal purposes. Might want to keep that in mind when labeling it. So not to limit yourself to just diaper rash.
  13. Well I guess I can't pm ya....was wondering if you ever heard of a product called Calmoseptine? It is basically a cream for skin irritations for "delicate areas" and medical type wound irritations. It has very basic ingrediants but not sure which one would be the preservative. But this product is the only thing out there that helps my "medical condition."
  14. As far as the patent, I think it would be a waste of money. All somebody has to do is change one little thing and they are not infringing on your patent. I don't know about the FDA thing but go into a health food store and check out labeling on just about anything. There is so much that is not FDA approved. I'm gonna pm ya on a private subject.
