  1. The black one is actually purple, my fault for putting it against a purple background! I used 10 drops of Peak's purple for it. The red one was 5 (I think) red drops of Cajun Candle red. The yellow was probably 5 drops too, Cajun Candle yellow. Yup, eugenia, that's a wick in the firestarter. Was that wrong? I've never made them before, and they're just going into the firepit, gotta light it with something right? lol Thanks for the comments!
  2. Was spent pouring a few things. In the back, we have Black Raspberry Vanilla scented Palm Wax, Gingerbread scented Palm Wax, and in the front, one of 17 firestarters with trash wax and sawdust, Creme de la Creme with J-223, and one of about 8 Chestnuts and Brown Sugar in JS Votive Blend. It's been a while since I posted anything in the gallery, so thought I'd throw something in there. Thanks for looking!
  3. The tip is VERY HOT when you use it, so be careful what's around where you set it after using it. I've seen people here make little "holsters" for them. Oh, and be careful where you aim it lol
  4. Those are fabulous! How about if you can "engrave" your name into them? Or whatever it's called when you do it to wood? Try on a scrap piece first, maybe? They look great!
  5. How much FO are you using? And what FO? Might be a light scent or not enough of it...?
  6. When I test, I usually take a scrap piece of paper, write down the wax, wick, FO, and tape it to the bottom of the candle, with the written part sticking out from the bottom so I can read it without turning it upside down. I find it's easier than to remember by colors.
  7. I like the JS votive wax, personally. Love the fact that it's granulated instead of a slab, makes it sooooooo much easier!
  8. Another vote here for seamless, especially for rustics! I've never tried it, but you might be able to see where the seam was when you get rid of it.
  9. Try heat gunning the tops a bit, that might help.
  10. Click on Go Advanced at the bottom, click on Manage Attachments below, then find the file and upload it.. hth
  11. Hi there, I have a question about cleaning the jars. I've got a few jars with the remains of C3 left. Just a bit on the sides and the very bottom where it's stuck when I poured out the wax after burning. Is it safe to put these in the dishwasher? Or will it clog up the pipes and all.... thanks for any tips!
  12. I've ordered from Peak's, Lone Star, Just Scent, Cajun Candle Factory, Candlewic... I've never been asked for a tax ID or vendor ID... maybe try one of these places?
  13. I've made several votives, and always get at least a little dip. I normally pour the same temp or a bit cooler. Sometimes I can see the line, most of the time not. I've never had one break though... I normally pour the first pour a bit lower than the top of the cups, I don't like that extra overhang...good luck!
  14. I haven't had a problem with them. Their FOs seem to be good quality, and they ship fast, in my experience...
  15. If the pillars are already wicked, why not just remelt and pour them in the same size mold?
  16. I used Lone Star's Sugar Cookie with votive wax and had excellent throw with it. I'd remelt and add more wax until you get to 1 oz per pound... just my opinion...
  17. I think I would start with a pre-blend. Just make a few candles out of that so you can get used to the motions before you have to add anything to the mix. Then you can see how it's supposed to burn (if you make it from a kit) and compare it when you use additives. Just my opinion though!
  18. I think so, but I'm not sure... give it a shot and see what happens!
  19. I got a 10 pound slab of this stuff for pillars, and the wicks I used for the mottling wax don't work. I searched the forums for suggestions, and I don't have any of the wicks suggested. I have the sample pack of wicks from Peaks (I think). I've got CD, LX, HTP, zinc, and Eco. Will any of these work? Right now, I'm using 60-44-18z and 51-32-18z and they're both bulging pretty badly. I want my 3 inch pillars to be hugless and perfect LOL
