  1. Wow, that was great! I'm going to have to order some UA! Thanks!
  2. Sure is! Just don't like the part about how things don't work LOL
  3. I've got some IGI 874-Micro MP175, that's about the only additive I have lying around. Think that would help, or make it worse? Should I try it and see? Should I give up and buy pillar wax? LOL I thought for sure the Peak 130 was listed as a "votive blend" when I bought it but the bag just says 130. Anyway, thanks for the replies!
  4. I tried doing a search, and couldn't come up with anything. Anyway, I was wondering if I could use my votive waxes (4794 or Peak's 130 mp) for a pillar? I have plenty of both and don't want to order more wax (hubby would kill me! lol) if I don't have to.... thanks in advance for any help on this issue!!!
  5. Chestnuts and Brown Sugar, Creme de la Creme, and Brown Sugar Pecan are my favorites....
  6. I've read where people pour the containers, let them set up, poke a hole to wick. How does that work? You just poke a hole and slide a wick in? No wick tab? What keeps it from drowning when you get near the bottom of the container? This one's tweaking my gourd.... Thanks!
  7. Thanks everyone! The pics are embedded. I had to change my water bath water after a few of them, it was getting pretty warm! It's a 3 gallon (I think) red rubber bucket. I found that sticking them in the fridge after emptying the center helps them to de-mold quicker, decided to try that so I could use the molds again.
  8. Hurricane season is never over... Rita and Katrina came through here, I was right in between both of them! I'm hoping these hurricanes I'm making will ward the real ones off!
  9. Don't be scared, if it doesn't work, stick it back in the melt pot!
  10. Two of them have 2 pics... here are the backs.
  11. I had a busy weekend. Yesterday votives, today hurricanes! I have 2 molds, so I was working for most of the day. These didn't turn out too bad! I'll finish the tops off later, I'm exhausted! My Presto is too, finally got to turn the poor guy off!
  12. I wish I could get my photos to look like that, mine have to be all the way at the bottom, otherwise they're crooked!
  13. I figured the green tops would be the ones people liked LOL. Well, yesterday was votives, today was hurricanes! I'll create a new thread for those, made 10 of them.
  14. That turned out beautiful!! Awesome job!
  15. My house smells so much that I can't smell a thing!
  16. I am doing second pours, but I was in such a rush to get them all done that I did it too soon. Seems like on all of them!
  17. I've been making votives ALL DAY LONG! Some for the Valentine's Day swap, and some just for me. I've only got 12 votive cups to pour into, so I was sticking them in the fridge for a while so I could use the cups again! Not all of them are in the pic, I distributed a bunch into bags to send to my mother in law. The white with green tops are Jasmine, there's also some White Tea & Ginger, Chestnuts and Brown Sugar, Coffee Cake and Spice, China Rain, Sugar Cookie, German Chocolate Cake, and some Spicy Winter Scentsations (in the molds). I'm sure I've left out a scent or two...
  18. I've had a lot of luck getting nice looking tops by pushing the center around the wick pin down into the still warm wax below it. I haven't gotten an air pocket (yet) doing that, but it makes the second pour look much nicer. I was trying to come up with a way to make them look nice, as they don't sink in the center like pariffin! I also noticed that these palm wax babies slide right out of the mold before they're totally set up. Lesson learned when I saw how much they pulled away from the sides, I dropped it right out, slammed the wick pin on a knife handle... lo and behold, hot wax from the center splattered out everywhere!!
  19. There is a supplier near me that has it in flalke form. I don't like slabs, and the only non-slab wax they have is soy. Less shipping since they're closer than anyone else. So... thought I'd give it a try, but I'm having a heck of a time wicking these things. Making progress though.... oh I'm making votives with V-1.
  20. I like the FOs from Peak, Lone Star Candle Supply, and Just Scent. They've all been awesome. I hear vanilla is a bit tricky though!
  21. I work in a small walk-in closet with a couple of shelves. Real tiny, but it's the only place I have right now... getting cramped these days!
