  1. I've bought the dye about one year ago from candles and supplies.
  2. I use liquid dye to color my wax, well it turned hard....When liquid dye does this is there a way of reversing it. I made a huge mess this morning...I was trying to add color to my wax and it seemed tough so i gave it a good squeeze and the top burst off and hard liquid dye plopped in my wax kettle and wax went every ware including all over me. The wax i could lift off, by the dye stayed. 2nd Question is my wax is now a bloody magenta color from the mess I discribed above, can I salvage my wax or is it ruined? Shall i dig a hole in my back yard too put it in. Would it be a good idea to save it in a pail and when i need a magenta color to use in the same type of wax....that i just shave off a chunk to use a my dye?:embarasse
  3. Thank-you! for all the feed back that i have recieved. I'm excited to review the hosting sites that were mentioned. Thanks for all of the explanations about the sites. Helped alot.:highfive:
  4. I,ve been serching a lot of web hosting sites. Would like to hear some feed back on hosting sites people on the forum use, and which hosting sites have the least hidden fees. also Who would be good for a murchants for shopping carts for visa and mastercard?
  5. Hi all, Yes, I had a lot of fun making this gel candle. Just need to get the votive inside to level more. It's a little tilted. Along with the wicking.:smiley2: Here is a burn picture.
  6. Morning, I used a square wick clip instead of a flat round wick clip. I read somewhere that using the flat clips could heat up too hot and crack the glass, where as the square ones give it a lift, and the flame does not touch the bottom of the votive. I can see that it look like it is flooting, but when your holding it you see it's touching. I know my wick is bent.:tiptoe:
  7. Hello, Today i made my first forever candle and just wanted to show everyone! please critique. I still need to trim the wick. The picture is a bit darker than i thought.
  8. Thank-you for the heads up!:highfive: I see now on the web site that the gel candles have inserted a votive, they look like tall votives. Last year i ordered a gel candle threw my daughters school fundraiser and the gel candles had plastic inserts, but they would melt and bend. I have short glass votives I am going to use. about 2 1/2 inches tall. That should not look bad. I'll send in a picture when i make it.
  9. Hello, Thank-you for the advice and web sites!!:smiley2: I was thinking i would need a double glass insert, with them, I'll need to do some looking around to purchase them. Here is a beautiful web site i found what i am trying to do. www.candleswithspirit.com I was thinking that i would either need to dip the flowers and or apples first in gel and stick them in the glass container and then fill the rest up with gel to get the flowers and/or apples to stay in place. Just a guess, i'll have to test it out.
  10. Hello, I am new to making gel candles. I've looked around and every one makes great gel candles. I've been looking around the web and cannot find instructions for using fake or pressed flowers and dried foods (example...apples) in gel candles? Does anyone know of a web site?
  11. Thanks for the idea's!! I have been pouring at 200, their have been a few times i heated it to high and lowered it to 2oo for the pour, either way it still came out the same. I tried one time heating my molds in the oven turning it off at temp 200, and then pouring the wax into the molds and putting it back in the oven. It seemed like for ever and a day before they hardened all the way. I thought for sure that worked, but no I took it out and they were the same. I do not remember the pour temp on the ones i put in the oven so It could have been too high or low. I think in the morning I'll try the heat gun idea.
  12. I am using crystal palm wax from candles and supplies, and when i make the candle it come out with the crystal palm effect(feather look) only from the bottom to about the middle and at the very top of the candle where the wick is. I heat the wax in my presto pot and the I pour it at 200. What am i doing wrong that i can't get the crystal (feather) look all over the candle? Please If anyone has any advice, I would greatly appreciate it. I called candles and supplies and she said to heat it at 200 and pour, I told her that I was not getting the crystal palm effect all over the candle and she says that she does and i'm not doing somthing right! Later I'll gett a picture up.
  13. I like the candy Corn pillar, very cute!
  14. See I would have never thought of that!! Thanks! I'll give it a try. :highfive:
