  1. I've used KY's bday cake and it smells really good but wanted to try Peaks because of the good reviews. Is there enough difference in their scent to have both and just rename one? Thanks! Beinda
  2. You're welcome! Now that I know someone has tried it and loves it I have no other choice but to order some! LOL! Belinda
  3. What about Bonfire Bliss from RE/AH? I've never tried it but I was just on their site and thought it sounded interesting. Belinda
  4. I sure was wanting to try that one too but she's upped her minimum purchase from $75 to $100 to get the sale price. I just placed an order with her and NG and Connies with two of them being over $100 and one almost that, so I guess I'll hold off for now! I'm overwhelming myself with all these FO's and there are still so many left I want to try! Does it ever end? ) Belinda
  5. Wow! That is something. I live in a small town in East Texas and I live within driving distance of 4 that I know of. Daystar, Texas Candle Supply, Houston Candle Supply are all between 15 minutes to an hour away, and I didn't know that Bitter Creek South is only about an hour and a half away until just a few weeks ago. I'm a little surprised too that a city that size doesn't have more places to choose from to buy supplies. Belinda
  6. Try Pinterest. There's usually a lot of good ideas on there! Belinda
  7. I sure will! I looked in my cabinet and saw where I have pumpkin cornbread from backwoods but you are looking for a plain cornbread. Haven't placed my JS order yet (still debating) but if I do, cornbread muffins is one that I will order. I am placing an order with RE soon for sure so I might order it from them. Either way, I'll let you know!
  8. Hi Candle lady, I saw where you are in Southeast Texas. That's where I live and was just wondering how close we were to each other! I'm in Cleveland.
  9. I haven't finished your tarts yet. I got side tracked! But I will get right back on doing that and send my opinion about the rest. If there isn't any difference then I'll just stay with 4630. I think it's even a little messy to work with so I don't need one that's messier LOL!
  10. I would be more than happy to send you a sample of them! That way you can decide if either of them are what you're looking for. Just pm me your address! Belinda
  11. Great! I think you'll get a response from her there.
  12. I've been wanting to try 4625 mixed with 4627 also but have read about how soft and messy it is and didn't want to order the quantity that you have to buy it in. I've not seen it sold less than 25 pounds (I think that's right). If you try it with 4625 then please post your results! Belinda
  13. Oh wow, Have you emailed her lately? I'm friends with her on Facebook and could put a bug in her ear if you want me too. She's always responded to anything I've written to her about but it was on there and not in her email account. I did ask her a couple of weeks ago when she was up at the school I work at, if she would send me a list of her favorite bakery scents and she hasn't done that yet but I know she's been on vacation too. Just let me know and I'll mention it to her when I message her about her favorite scent list! Belinda
  14. I've only poured straight soy one time (from KY) and though it was very pretty and creamy looking I just prefer paraffin. Like you, I don't like the smears. I did buy a couple of soy tarts from sugar scents and they didn't have any smears on the bag but some that I bought from another vendor had smears all over! I think you will really like KY's para/soy tart wax or their 133 or 143 wax which is all paraffin. I also like 4625! When I make tarts with a straight paraffin pillar wax I don't have smears. Someone with more experience than me might be able to tell us both how to make them a different way without smears though! I just haven't found it yet. Belinda
  15. If I could tell you why I would! LOL! I guess because I'm like a lot of people on here that are looking for that perfect wax and so my journey continues! One of the main reasons I wanted to go to all paraffin is because I read a lot of great reviews about a vendor in a wax review group I'm in on facebook and this vendor uses all paraffin. I've bought her tarts and they're very hard and the wax doesn't rub off of on the bags like it does when I used the para/soy blend. That drives me nuts. I've gone back and forth between 4625/4630 and KY133 and KY143 and I can't tell much difference. But for clamshells I would absolutely use their para/soy again, and would even use it for tarts but mix some 4625 or their KY143 with it to make it harder. I've liked all of those for tarts. I have changed and changed and quite honestly I'm not sure if I personally can tell a difference, BUT I don't keep notes and there probably lies the problem. I just used up the last of the para/soy wax I had from RE in clamshells and they're very creamy and nice looking to me. I also poured some using 4625 mixed with 4630 (I think that's the one) and they don't look as nice but I think I needed to add a little more container wax than I did. I can't tell a difference in CT but I haven't melted any of them. I have a terrible time making my mind up about everything and always have, but I can tell you that I liked it a lot! I especially like the fact that it comes in granule form. I'm using their KY133 mixed with container wax for clamshells now. I don't think you'll be disappointed in that particular wax if you're looking for a para/soy blend. The Candle Source also has granule wax for tarts but I didn't care for it at all. There were several on here that used it and from what I remember didn't like it either. justajesuschick could probably help you more. She keeps great notes! I'm very disorganized! Sorry such a long response. I'm probably not much help. But I still think you'll like it a lot! Belinda
  16. I like KY's parasoy wax myself. Right now I'm switching to their all paraffin 133 wax and mixing it with a container wax for clamshells and alone or with a small amount of container wax for tarts in molds. But if I decided to go back to a parasoy blend theirs is the one I would use! HTH Belinda
  17. Just Scent has a cornbread muffins Fo. Haven't tried it but I have it in my shopping cart on their website now. I've read some good reviews about it. HTH Belinda
  18. Has anyone used her bday cake? She's still having a sale and I thought I would try it. I read on here where it smells like Peaks and it seems a lot of people likes theirs. Thanks! Belinda
  19. I'm new to wax and the forum but I have to agree that Dreamcatcher is very nice. I've not tried any of RE's vanillas but I've read that their french vanilla is good. I think my favorite is vanilla bean from NG or Mrs. Claus cookies from NG. Candlewic has sugared vanilla shortbread that's really good too! Hope that helps! Belinda
  20. Looking over everyone's cookie and cake scents I was wondering if anyone has used JS's b-day cake, cuppy cake or coconut cake? I just got several of her pumpkin Fo's for Fall, but I'm hung up on finding a good cake scent. Sorry, not meaning to take over the original topic. Her pumpkin FO's smell good OOB! Thanks! Belinda
  21. I agree! I've seen it listed on some vendors scent list but never gave it a try because of the way it sounds. Can you describe it? Is it spicy, bakery, etc. Is it really that good? Thanks for sharing! Belinda
  22. I bought a large bottle of their birthday cake based on the reviews on here and I'm not too crazy about it. I'm not sure if it's just me or if for some reason it has a plastic smell to me. Maybe I don't really realize what birthday cake is supposed to smell like! I also poured Cake Bake from TCS and I didn't like it very much either. I liked Aztec's better than TCS's though. I'm going to pour RE's birthday cake tomorrow and see how I like it. If I like it then I'll probably be selling the others. It could just be me though! ) Belinda
  23. I've been wondering myself so I hope someone chimes in that has used her FO's! Belinda
  24. So JS's bday cake and Peaks are twin FO's? JS is having a sale right now and I have been wanting to find a good bday cake. Stacy from Daystar is on vacation, but I may wait on her too! Decisions, decisions. LOL!
  25. Has anyone used this FO? They are having a sale and I thought about trying it but wanted opinions first. Or if you have any other recommendations for their winter/fall FO's would be great! Thanks! Belinda
