  1. I've bought several new ones for Fall but haven't had time to pour them. A few of what I have used and love are, Bear Claws-ICS-to me this one is good all year round but I love bakery! Pumpkin Crunch Cake-NG Hansel & Gretels House-CS Pumpkin Creme Brûlée-I have one from Connie's (haven't poured yet but good OOB) but I think most here like AH. Candy Corn with buttercream-JS-Haven't poured Chestnuts & Brown Sugar-JS or ICS Amish Harvest-Peak Hot Apple Pie-AH-good all year round Pumpkin Cookie Crunch-JS-haven't poured yet but good OOB Trick or Treat-NG Apple Butter-TCS Toffee Apple Crunch-NG Candy Corn-Mine is from Houston Candle Supply. Haven't poured it but it smells good OOB. I think most get theirs from BCS but I could be wrong. That's all I can think of off the top of my head! But there are many more great ones! Hope this helps!
  2. I thought I clicked on a link somewhere on here and got a craft show schedule by state but can't seem to find it. How would I go about getting a schedule for upcoming shows? Thanks!
  3. I wish Daystar and Texas Candle Supply carried more things. Daystar is only 10 minutes from my house and TCS is about 25. BCS and HCS are about an hour. I've been meaning to plan a trip to Houston to BCS but haven't done that yet. I absolutely hate Houston traffic! HCS is actually a little closer but I don't think they have a show room and to pick up from them at their warehouse you have to order a certain amount and if I'm not mistaken you have to order ahead also.
  4. Thanks! I know this is a dumb question, but a business license isn't the same as a tax i.d. number is it? It seems like some wholesalers only require a tax id number and others require more.
  5. I've bought several from Vista wholesale but none of them are seasonal. I would like to get some seasonal warmers. Anyone know who might sell them wholesale? Thanks!
  6. I saw where Ravens said their creme brûlée (Mike's I think) is wonderful! I haven't tried any of their FO's but have been tempted.

    TCS wax..

The soft waxes I've used are 4630, a paraffin container wax and 6006 which is a para/soy container wax. I think 4627 is a very soft, paraffin container wax but I've never used it. A lot of people love it but say it's messy because it's so soft. From what I can gather, mixing is a personal preference as far as what to mix and how much. I know a vendor that mixes 4625, 6006 and soy in equal amounts and gets great results and great reviews on her tarts. I tried that and liked the results as far as scent throw but still can't stand the way the tarts smudge. Another vendor I've ordered from uses straight paraffin, a hard one, and I love the way her tarts look and smell. They don't smudge on the bag. That's the look and results I would like to achieve for tarts poured in silicone molds. Here lately though, I've been pouring more clamshells than anything, so I have to mix something soft with 4625 or 133. When I mix 4625 with container wax 4630, I use a 50/50 ratio. When I mix KY133 with 4630, I use a 2 to 1 ratio with the 2 being 133. I'm still in the experimenting phase too and don't know if I'll ever get to where I don't try different waxes or blends! One thing I do like about KY's tart wax is you can pour it into clamshells without mixing it and they pop out easy. You can't do that with 133 or 4625. It's very hard to get them out in my opinion. Sigh! The search continues!

    TCS wax..

I was thinking about trying 4794 myself. That's one that I haven't tried yet. Have you tried 4625 blended with a container wax yet? A lot of people get good results with it. I don't like mixing container wax with it if I'm using a silicone mold, only because I can't stand the way the tarts rub off on the bags, but I do blend it if I'm pouring into clamshells. Have you tried KY133 or KY tart wax? I like it but some on here don't. My nose may be messed up, but I can't tell much if any difference in using 133 or 4625 for tarts. I've had a tart made from 133 going in my warmer for 3 days now and I'm still getting whiffs from it. The search for the perfect/best wax can be absolutely maddening at times!
  9. Wow Candybee! I thought I had it good being within driving distance of Daystar, Texas Candle Supply, Houston Candle Supply and Bittercreek south! LOL! Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining, but the only one that has a showroom or store front is BCS. The others, except HCS don't sell wax or jars, and they don't sell the wax I use. I'm green with envy LOL! If I had only known last July that I was going to be obsessed with FO's and wax I would've stopped at some of these other places while I was in Pennsylvania on vacation! Sigh!
  10. It's not just you Karen, Sweet potato pie and carrot cake are two that I have had trouble finding also. I bought a large bottle of each from NG and although they don't smell horrible, they aren't what I expected. I ordered a bottle of their sweet potatoes and brown sugar and it smells much nicer! I don't know why it couldn't be used for a sweet potato pie scent. I haven't put it in wax yet but OOB it smells wonderful.

    TCS wax..

There's a large thread with this wax as the subject. I would ask Ravens. From what I understand, she used this wax and loved it but I think it has changed. I ordered 10 lbs of it a few months ago and wasn't that impressed with it. I was thinking about trying it again but just last night read through the large thread about this wax that was started in March of this year. I don't know if I'll give it a try or not. It seems some were having good results with it and some weren't. Which wax are you currently using if you don't mind me asking.
  12. KY-sam, If you go with their tart wax then I don't think you will have to blend anything with it. It seems I've used it in alone in clamshells and it's really pretty (in my opinion) when it cools off and pops right out. I'm not sure how much of it is soy, but it did do well in clams. I keep going back and forth and can't decide. I'm not sure why I switched and who knows, may even go back to their tart wax! LOL! I've always had a problem making up my mind about everything!
  13. Thanks everyone! The vendor is going to let me return them but now I'm on the fence as to whether or not I should keep them and try my hand at soap! Not another addiction! LOL! I'm just curious, is homemade soap a good seller and what is a fair price for soap you would get in these shells? Not trying to be nosey, I've just never bought soap from a vendor. Thanks again!

  15. I forgot, I also have some of their tangy Mulberry and it's really good and strong.
  16. I've used a couple of their oils and in my opinion, their buttercream is really good. So far, the strongest I've found. I got some of their funnel cake and also one called marshmallow ambrosia which I really like. Funnel cake has a very different smell but I haven't put it in wax. If you're interested in any of those I can send you a sample!
  17. I've used KY tart wax and liked it but like a lot of others I've been looking for the perfect blend. I don't know if I can honestly say I can tell a difference between waxes as far as performance. Maybe I just don't pay close enough attention. I've been switching back and forth between 4625 and KY133 for tarts in molds and then mixing either one with 4630 for clamshells. I just ordered more KY133. I just like the way it comes in granulated form. I tried TCS wax and didn't like it. I've never used JS wax. Wish I could be more help.
  18. I'm glad you told me about the ones from TCS! 600 for $96 isn't bad at all, especially since I've been paying about $50 for 200 from ICS. If you do order from TCS, let me know how they are. Even though I let the ones from Cajun's air out before I use them, they still have a slight plastic smell to me. The ones from ICS don't though.
  19. I ordered 700 from Fillmore. I read on here that they were the same ones that you get from ICS. I sure hope that's true! I really didn't want to get that many at one time but I got tired of paying for shipping 200 at a time. And too, the last order I placed with ICS, I somehow (haven't figured out how yet) wound up with 200 single cavity. So I just bit the bullet and ordered several hundred. I sure hope the ones from Fillmore don't have the plastic smell. I got some from Cajun and they have a smell. Thanks!
  20. Thanks to both of you! I like both ideas. This is probably a dumb question but, do you pour the soap in the clamshell or pour it into a mold and then use the clamshell as the package? I haven't made soap yet but hopefully one day I'll be able to do that. Thanks again to both of you!
  21. Somehow, not quite sure how, I ordered 200 one cavity clamshells from ICS instead of the 6 cavity. I have no idea what people use them for and they have a no return policy. Any ideas as to what I can do with them? Thanks!
  22. Has anyone used clamshells from either of these two companies? Thanks!
  23. I've been wondering what the difference was between 4630 and 4633. I may have to give 4633 a try! It might be easier for me to get 4633 to wick right. Thanks for all your help!
