Sunday Posted January 5, 2018 Posted January 5, 2018 Do you have a scale you just love? Hate? Tell us about it....I really need a new scale ...just don't know where to begin ...perhaps the My-Weigh Kd 7000...thoughts? Quote
TallTayl Posted January 5, 2018 Posted January 5, 2018 Been using kd7000 for a decade and love it. Though, making larger batches requires either a bigger scale or creative measuring. Small measurements (1-20 or so grams) are just not accurate. I also have a 35 lb scale for shipping that comes in handy for big batches. And a very inexpensive ($10) pocket gram scale for small measurements (0.01 gram measurements) Quote
Shari Posted January 5, 2018 Posted January 5, 2018 I have the KD-8000 and love it. I use it for B&B it's accurate enough and has the capacity to weigh larger amounts of things. Quote
Jcandleattic Posted January 5, 2018 Posted January 5, 2018 I used the KD-7000 for like 12 years or more, and would still have it if I hadn't heat gunned the buttons, and ended up melting them down to the wiring... (LMAO don't ask - LOL smh) I replaced it with the KD-8000 about 3 years ago and have been even happier with this one. Before, I with the KD-7000, I could never program the auto shut-off to NOT shut off, so in between every weigh I would turn it off and back on, just to be sure it wouldn't happen mid-pour of something. The KD-8000 was a breeze to program the auto shut-off, and has a bit (not a lot) more functionality. I would highly recommend either of these scales, but the best bit of advice I'd have for it, get it WITH the plug-in adaptor. That way you never have to worry about dead batteries or mis weighing because your batteries are slowly dying. The ONLY time I use batteries in mine is if I have to weigh something when the power has gone off due to weather. That's only happened once, and I didn't HAVE to, I just wanted to soap that day and we were powerless for about 8-10 hours. LOL Quote
kandlekrazy Posted January 5, 2018 Posted January 5, 2018 I have an Ultra Ship, actually 2 of them. One is a model 55, not sure about the other but it's way older (12+ years). They aren't expensive scales but they are accurate and last a long time. Quote
Trappeur Posted January 5, 2018 Posted January 5, 2018 I use the scale you gave me a few years back Jane.....lol = it's still going strong! Trappeur Quote

Trappeur Was that the Escali scale? I'm glad it's still working for you! I don't think I ever even took that one out of the box but I just loved my KD so much!! Quote

strugglebrother Posted January 25, 2018 Posted January 25, 2018 We use three scales This one for heavier loads but still needs to be detailed, and it's also great that it has a bowl so the scale doesn't get ruined by fragrance oils https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002SVQHWY/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 This one we use for perfume and extremely detailed measurements. It doesn't take any heavy loads https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004C3G73U/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Then I use this one just to weigh wax but it's quite inaccurate and I wouldn't recommend it https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0007GAWZ0/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Quote
